Hopefully that experiment is over. Tetsuya Naito regains the championships! So much weirder of a decision now in retrospect. I think the plan for Evil was to always win the NJC, win the title, then lose it back to Naito. If it wasn't for the pandemic, his reign would have been a bit longer. I am by no means defending it. I can't stand EVIL.

That might be the first (and likely last) time I've ever gotten a NJPW event perfect on guesses. Solid show though, I enjoyed all the matches. Evil-Naito started off really slow, but it picked up well and turned into a really good match by the end. I think Suzuki-Shingo was probably match of the night for me.

Loved Shingo vs. Minoru Suzuki, not feeling Evil as a main eventer and i have a feeling he's going to be a huge player in G1 this year.

Block A: Kota Ibushi Kazuchika Okada Tomohiro Ishii Shingo Takagi Yujiro Takahashi Taichi Minoru Suzuki Jeff Cobb Will Ospreay Jay White
Block B: Hiroshi Tanahashi Hirooki Goto Toru Yano Yoshi-Hashi Sanada Tetsuya Naito Evil Zach Sabre Jr Juice Robinson Kenta
Block A is so much better than B. I wish I could trade Yujiro & Taichi for Kenta & ZSJ so I wouldn't have to watch B at all.

Yeah block a is infinitely better, which I assume means easy road for Naito to the finals

Yeah block a is infinitely better, which I assume means easy road for Naito to the finals I dunno. As champ, I'm guessing he'll either lose in the B Block final or not even make it that far. As soon as I saw the lineup for B, it feels like Sanada is a lock.

At least the A block is pretty unpredictable. I could see Ibushi, Okada, White, OR Ospreay winning the whole thing.

The A block is insane outside Yujiro while the B block is solid but there's only 2 or 3 guys who are going to be players near the end.

I certainly prefer A Block, but I feel like it's not as lopsided as other years.

If he wasn't going to be a big player in the G1, it's kind of a good thing to keep him out. Otherwise he'd lose more matches than he'd win. So I can see the reasoning there, no happy about it though. lol

I certainly prefer A Block, but I feel like it's not as lopsided as other years. Evil, Sanada, & Yoshi Hashi do nothing for me. Goto can be hit or miss and the same can be said for Yano (by the end of G1 I'm kinda done with his comedy). That's HALF the block and not taking into account that Naito is also a lock for some below average matches (not knocking the guy, it's just the stage he's at in his career) and ZSJ can have slow matches that lack excitement against less charismatic opponents. The reason I'm so down on the B Block is that I'm going to have an uneasiness about each night.

Starting off hot, Okada/Ibushi. No filler “preview” tags are nice. One warm up and then right into the block matches is gonna be nice to watch.

Couple big matches to set the tone right off the start. That A block is just insane. Definitely a fan of no filler tags. G1 is intense enough as is never have time to watch them anyways. Ishii vs Suzuki on night one could be bonkers.
