(MMA) - Citing "scheduling complications" and a desire to have a "championship card", the UFC indefinitely postponed their return to Montreal, Canada, Tuesday.
March 24th's UFC 145 was to be the promotion's fifth event in Montreal and their first there in over a year, but as The Canadian Press' Neil Davidson broke the news, it will be some time before the Octagon graces the Bell Centre. Davidson spoke with UFC Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright who suggested the UFC will try again sometime in 2012.
MMA Junkie spoke with UFC President Dana White on the matter, confirming that White tried to get an April date but availability was scarce. No additional reasons were given for the move, but the spring schedule of fights may undergo some additional changes.
Fights will likely not be moved up to the March 3rd FX show in Australia as that card already has 10 fights. The April 14th FX event in Sweden is a slight possibility for one or two, but most likely the majority of bouts will move to the April 21st UFC 146 event in Atlanta, GA, assumed to be the new UFC 145.

They can not skip 145. Sounds like they wanted a GSP fight on this card and that's not going to happen. They were targeting an April return for Bones. Why not give him a fight on the card? They could have finialized this after Rashad fought Davis. If they got to beat up he could have had Hendo Vs Bones in April.

Didn't Jones say he wants more time off? I don't expect him to be back until around June-July.

Canceled? Says its POSTPONED. From the sounds of it, "indefinitely postponed" is a nice way of saying "canceled with an assumption that there will be an event there at some point."

They could say moved... It is not as if they will have 145 there after the fact. Well, last month we had ufc 190 but remember 145? Well finally, it is coming.

Honestly, I'm kind of confused as to what the UFC will do with that, actually. If I had to guess, they're going to remove it from the rotation and thus every scheduled "numbered" event will be pushed up (i.e. UFC 146 becomes UFC 145).

Maybe they'll find a new venue in the U.S. to do it. They had a whole list of fights planned.

Yeah, Jones said he wants to fight again asap - there was actually talk of Jones Vs Dan Henderson to headline 145, but I guess it won't be happening...

Jones will be back around April. If that's the case, then wouldn't they have him headline this event?

Bit of an update on this...
Then event is back on, only it will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on April 21st instead of Montreal on March 24th, due to the scheduling conflict. It replaces the 146 card that was originally set for Atlanta, and Jon Jones confirmed he will be ready in time for the card, so he's obviously now expected to headline.

^ Good news... thanks for the update. Looks like it will be Jones Vs Evans as the headliner (if Evans wins at the weekend and isn't injured) - if not, then DW said he'd prefer Dan Henderson over Phil Davis. So it's pretty good either way...
