I guess these fighters wouldn't know anything us guys on a wrestling toy forum wouldn't know. I like the Compubox/Compustrike numbers being brought up. This isn't boxing, this is MMA. There are a few things listed in the criteria of who wins a round, and striking is just ONE of them. What about cage control? Running and backing up isn't "control". What about takedowns, grappling, grappling control, aggression, etc? I love Condit, but come on now. I don't really get your point, some of those don't even say they thought Diaz won (Rogan), said it was a close, tough fight to score(Hendo) or are outright biased (Neer). I'm sure I could find plenty saying Condit won (Bendo, Anik) are two examples I know of. All we get out of it is it was a close fight and one that could've went either way, again not a robbery and if Diaz's man's up I'm sure we could get a rematch since GSP is out for so long. I mean they can't really throw anyone else in there besides possibly Hendricks anyway and that's a real stretch at this point. And I thought Condit had "contol", I mean he dictated how the fight went, sure Diaz may have been more aggressive but the fight was fought at Condit's pace in Condit's fight. Oh, and... Rofl, that is hilarious.

Condits camp shot down any talks of a rematch. They said Carlos wants to concentrate on GSP right now....
...even though before the Diaz fight his camp said Condit would for sure defend the interim title before the GSP fight...

They said Carlos wants to concentrate on GSP right now.... ...even though before the Diaz fight his camp said Condit would for sure defend the interim title before the GSP fight... That's not what was said.... What was said was by his manager saying that if the right fight came along he might take it. He said it would be the smart thing blah blah blah. It was some one else speaking on Condit's behalf.

I don't understand people who have a problem with the way Condit fought... honestly, if you were his trainer or in his corner, would you want him to just go out and bang with Nick Diaz? It would be idiotic. It might have been the more fan-friendly approach - but look what happened to Paul Daley... Condit fought an intelligent fight - it may have looked as if he was "running away" at times but he had to move fast because Diaz is so good at cutting-off his opponents and getting them against the cage, then unleashing a barrage of punches. I also think Condit hurt Nick a few times with his strikes... look at their faces afterwards and the damage done. And ask Nick how his legs are feeling.
I don't know... maybe it's because I've always been such a big boxing fan, but I like watching guys use their skills to "defuse" (...for want of a better word...) their opponents. A lot of the time I actually prefer watching a well though-out fight plan to just a "stand and bang" fight. I know there are a lot of fans out there who always want a finish, or aren't happy if guys aren't looking for a finish, but if you can skillfully outbox and out-manouver your opponent and stay out of danger (especially against a guy like Diaz who will knock you TFO), I don't see a problem in it. Just my opinion though.

Ha my brother said a Diaz fan was actually crying today at school over the Condit fight, called Condit a **** and had a tantrum about it (tears in his eyes lol). He thought Diaz won 4-1 and then he smashed a window with a brick and got detention. HA.
If you go on Sherdog there's so many butthurt Diaz nuthuggers, its embarrassing. Condit won a close fight (well i scored it 4-1 Condit but rounds were close) and they need to get over it.
Condit is getting a lot of bad stuff said about plus plenty of those ever so funny running gifs. Everyone is calling him "Natural Born Runner" now instead of "Natural Born Killer" even though out of 28 wins it was only his 2nd ever decision win. Condit deserves some credit for his win and great perfromance, hopefully all the fuss and crying about the fight will die down soon.

Nick's face always looks like that after a fight. He has a ton of scar tissue.

Personally, I had Diaz winning rounds 1, 2, and 5. I don't think Condit was backing up or running the whole fight either. Just thought Diaz pushed the pace more in the first two, and had the most control in the 5th.
What's weird about all of this, is I actually see Diaz's point after the fight. The point system in place for MMA is so subjective, that to someone who doesn't play the points game like other fighters, it seems like a joke.
Smart fight or not, I can imagine it's annoying to a "finisher" when someone comes out and tries to play the point game instead of trying to end the fight. Not saying that's what Condit did, but I see Diaz's point of view.

At UFC 143 on Saturday, Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit fought five rounds for the UFC Interim Welterweight title, with Condit winning the unanimous decision. The outcome was controversial, with Diaz, along with many fans, fighters, and media members feeling that his constant forward pressure was enough to win a clear decision.
At the post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White said he was open to the possibility of a rematch, but made it clear that both parties had to be eager to fight. As Diaz was so maddened by the decision that he announced his retirement immediately post-bout in the Octagon, and because yesterday Condit's camp indicated they were not interested, there was little hope that the rematch would be made.
However, sources close to the deal just confirmed with The Underground that Carlos Condit has accepted a rematch with Nick Diaz, with the UFC Interim Welterweight title again on the line.
Condit said 'Yes, I accept the rematch' and will be in Las Vegas on Thursday to finalize the deal.
The winner will presumably face GSP for the Unified Welterweight title, when the Canadian recovers fully from knee surgery, which is expected to be around November.
It's unclear at this time as to when the rematch will take place, but it looks like the fans have got what they asked for.

Good. Hopefully it ends decisively this time, regardless of who wins and everyone (Nick and Cesar Gracie included) will shut the up about it.

Carlos said in an interview that after he watched the fight again, he realized it was a lot closer than he thought.

The thing is though - unless Nick does something new or radically different, we will probably see the same sort of fight again - with the same sort of outcome...

Condit must be confident he that he beats Diaz again as he could have easily just waited for the GSP fight. he ended the fight better than Diaz IMO won rounds 3,4 and possibly even round 5.

Well, I'd have thought he'd try to grapple or mix it up a bit more in their first fight - especially after becoming frustrated with Condit's stand-up... if he can't get past Condit's movement or cut him off, he'll probably have the same problems. Still, who knows...

Weird if its true about the Diaz camp turning down the rematch after Condit agrees to it. Makes no sense.
