So this may sound weird but one of my favorite tag teams of all time is the pairing of Kane & X-Pac in 1999. For some reason I just LOVED their chemistry together and it brought out a side of Kane we had never seen before. I still remember his famous "first words" without the use of the voice box where he says "SOOOOCCCKKK IIITT!" At the time, my cousins favorite wrestler was X-Pac and mine was Kane so we were totally marking out. I thought they had a pretty decent run before everything got messed up with the whole Tori story. However, they did have a pretty good steel cage match at Armageddon 1999. My cousin and I would always read the internet and the rumors that Kane would finally come out wearing DX green & black ring attire but he never did...anybody else a fan of this strange tag team pairing?

The team was cool but I remember thinking that it was so predictable that X-Pac would turn on Kane and go back w/ his DX mates. The team had a good run but it was crap the way they split.

I liked this team. You have your powerhouse monster and you quick highflyer. I actually would have loved seeing this team wrestling the Dudley Boys. I know that is would not have happened but if they would have teamed longer and it could have what a feud.

Speaking of this tag team, rumour has it that Kane was wearing green and black at house shows when he was champions with X-Pac.
Anyone know of this rumour being true?? I have heard it many times over the past 12 years on the net, but there has never been any pictures to prove that Kane wore green and black, instead or red and black.

I loved this team. X-Pac was one of my favorites at the time and seeing him partner with Kane was awesome. I saw them beat the Acolytes for the tag titles on Raw.

This proves that a mask doesn't make Kane a monster. I haven't watched much of their run, so I can't really judge it at all, though I can say I don't like the idea of them pairing basically because of Kane's character.

Yea this was the start of Kane becoming more "humane" he got into the relationship with tori and it just snowballed from there. Although for what it's worth we did get a solid cage match between the two.

Their contrasting sizes and styles worked as a tag team, and could have made for something greater had there not been other forces at play (i.e. heel DX reuniting).
It lasted long enough that we were able to get a sense of how they'd work together and if they could become legitimate title holders (they did), but then the reformation of DX took it all away.
Underwhelming is a term that comes to mind, but they had their moments in tag matches (and against each other) where it felt like both were recapturing the magic of a New Age Outlaws-type team.
I know I could have gone for at least one to two more months of this team, especially as tag champs, but it was inevitable that a good thing would not last in those days.

I wanted it to go on longer too. I felt like they kinda jumped the gun on having Pac turn against Kane. They even tried milking the story all the way to Wrestlemania 2000 too but by then nobody cared. I think the big blow off was a tag match featuring Road Dogg & X-Pac vs. Rikishi & Kane. Yay.

Honestly, the thing I remember most about the team as after they split and Kane returned on Raw.

i hated the pairing of these two when they first got together. i think mainly cause they just didn't match. they grew on me over time but like others have said, it was a predictable ending to the team.
