WWF @ Albany, NY - Pepsi Arena - April 1, 2002
Before the show gets underway, Ric Flair is seen backstage in his office. He welcomes us to the Flair Era, and the new Monday Night RAW! He says he wants to make this broadcast as historic as ever, so he has four huge matches already lined up tonight. The Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs as Rob Van Dam defends against Booker T! “The Next Big Thing,” Brock Lesnar, will face off against the man he attacked last week, Rikishi. Then, the Hardy Boyz takes on The Dudley Boyz with the winners going to Backlash to face Billy and Chuck for the tag team championships. In our main event, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall will face the tandem of Kane and….. The Rock! The crowd pops as Flair mentions to cap it all off, he will sign Stone Cold to the RAW brand, tonight!
A new Monday Night RAW opening plays featuring all the new draftees. We are taken live to a brand new set as the pyro goes off. Jim Ross and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to a huge show as already stated! They hype up the main matches for tonight once more, and how Vince McMahon and Ric Flair will be competing to sign Stone Cold to either RAW or Smackdown tonight! They say the action is going to start right away here tonight, and the theme song of Rob Van Dam hits!
Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam def. Booker T) This was a great way to start off the night. Both men really went at it, and the finish came when Van Dam avoided the Scissors Kick and hit a spinning heel kick! He then went to the top and hit the Frog Splash, getting the three!
After the match, Van Dam celebrates on the top rope, but suddenly he is attacked from behind by Booker T! The crowd boos as Booker stomps on the champion, irate after the loss. Suddenly, Booker is caught by surprise, as Eddie Guerreo comes out from the crowd! He chases him out of the ring as RVD starts to get up. Eddie picks up the title and it seems like he’s going to hand it over, but instead he kicks him in the groin! The crowd boos as he throws the title on top of Van Dam, Guerrero telling him that he’s coming after the title!
Break
A replay is shown of Eddie Guerrero returning and attacking Rob Van Dam after his match.
Jonathan Coachman is backstage with Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman. He asks Paul what they think about Lesnar’s match with Rikishi tonight. Paul says tonight Lesnar will run through Rikishi like he’s nothing more than a pile of dirt. He says he can spot big talent when he sees it, just ask Stone Cold Steve Austin. He refers to Lesnar as “The Next Big Thing” and he will prove it in only a matter of time. He says Lesnar is the future of this company, and if anyone tries to stand in his way, they will never be the same again. Lesnar and Heyman leave the area as Coach thanks them for their time.
Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman def. Rikishi) This match wasn’t the greatest, but Lesnar did look impressive against the big Rikishi. Lesnar was able to grab Rikishi’s leg while he attempted a superkick, and he turned it around into an F-5! He hooked the leg and got the three.
Following the match Heyman gets into the ring and raises his hand. He instructs Lesnar to do something, and he picks Rikishi up. He plants him with a huge F-5 as the crowd continues to boo. Heyman and Lesnar share a sadistic smirk before leaving the ring.
WWF Undisputed Champion Triple H is walking backstage; he is due out in the ring, next!
Break
A quickly replay is shown of last week with Triple H hitting the Pedigree on Stephanie McMahon to retain the WWF Undisputed Champion and send her packing from the WWF!
The theme of the champion hits to a loud pop. He makes his way out to the ring, holding both titles. The Game has a microphone and he says all the talk has been about the brand extension for the past week. The fact is, none of that matters. The fact is, he is the WWF Undisputed Champion, so he can appear on any show he wants. He addresses The Undertaker, and says Vince may not be giving him a title shot, but he’s here every day and is just waiting for him to step up to the plate. He warns Undertaker he can run out here and attack all the superstars he wants, but it all comes down to when they finally meet in the ring again for this title. He tells ‘Taker when that time finally comes, it will be game over for the Deadman. The crowd pops, but things get even louder as the theme of Stone Cold Steve Austin hits! Austin comes out with a purpose and he snatches a microphone before getting into the ring. He tells Triple H later tonight he can either sign with Monday Night RAW, or he can sign with Smackdown! Just don’t forget the fact that wherever he ends up going, he will be coming for the WWF Championship. Triple H smirks and simply tells Stone Cold he looks forward to the day. Both men drop their microphones and stare down as RAW fades out to a break.
Break
We see the New World Order backstage. Hall talks about how he hopes Austin signs on over to Monday Night RAW so he can finally get his hands on him. Nash tells Hall they need to focus on Kane and The Rock right now. After what happened on Smackdown! it’s time they take a stand. Nash says tonight they are going to take out Kane and Rock once and for all. Hall agrees, but suddenly the come pass by Stone Cold Steve Austin! The crowd pops as Austin asks Hall why wait for him to sign to a brand. They tell him to take it easy, but Austin doesn’t flinch. The nWo leave the scene and Austin remains put, watching them.
Bradshaw def. Lance Storm) This match was fairly average, showing some of RAW’s mid carders. Bradshaw kicked off his RAW career alone with a bang, taking Storm out with a Clothesline from Hell.
Bradshaw celebrated his victory in the ring as Lance Storm rolled to the outside, irate.
Vince McMahon is seen arriving in a limo in the parking lot. Will Stone Cold sign with him or Flair?
A video package for Backlash plays, hyping the event. It features the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H. WWF Backlash is live on April 21st; call your local cable provider now!
Break
The WWF Tag Team Champions, Billy and Chuck, make their way out to the ringside area to get a close look at our next match.
Number One Contenders Match: The Hardy Boyz w/Lita def. The Dudley Boyz) These two teams know each other extremely well, and they pulled out a very exciting match tonight. Putting everything on the line for a shot at the tag team titles, D-Von was even able to kick out of a Twist of Fate! In the end, Matt was able to slip out of a Bubba Bomb and hit the Twist of Fate again before tagging in Jeff. Jeff hit the Swanton Bomb and secured the win!
The crowd cheers for The Hardyz after the match as they celebrate their victory with Lita on the turnbuckles. The Tag Team Champions stand on the outside watching, look to avenge their loss to The Hardyz from last week.
The Rock is shown backstage in his locker room to a massive ovation. He seems to be getting ready for his match tonight, when Kane walks into the room. Rock looks un-eased, but Kane tells him to relax. He tells Rock they will go out there tonight and lay the Smackdown on the nWo’s candy asses! The crowd pops and Rock is surprised, but he tells Kane to hold up. He asks Kane who the hell he thinks he is, just barging into The Rock’s locker room and using his catchphrases! Kane’s demeanor changes, and with Rock noticing, he smiles and tells Kane he’s joking. He assures him tonight they will go out there and whoop them all over the people’s ring! He tells Kane they could quite possibly be the most electrifying duo in all of Sport Entertainment history! The Big Red Machine! The People’s Champion! The Masked Monster…. Kane stops Rock at that line. Kane leans over Rock, looking angry, but he suddenly laughs and tells him he’s joking too. IF YA SMELLLLLLL WHAT THE KANE…. IS COOKIN’. Kane leaves the room, pumped up, leaving a confused Rock behind.
Break
Eddie Guerreo is walking backstage when he is stopped by The Coach. Coach asks him about his return early on, and what does he want with Rob Van Dam. He looks at Coach funny and asks, isn’t it obvious? He wants his title back, and tonight he just made a statement. He says he put that copycat RVD on notice, and sooner than later, Latino Heat will be walking with the gold.
Hardcore Champion Raven def. Maven) Maven lost the Hardcore Championship to Tommy Dreamer on Smackdown!, who in turn lost it to Raven. He was looking to regain the gold tonight, but after a shot from the Kendo Stick and a Raven Effect DDT; it was all over.
Raven was proclaimed the winner and he was handed the Hardcore Championship, but suddenly Goldust ran out and attacked him!
Hardcore Champion Raven def. Goldust) Right before Goldust could capture the win with the Curtain Call, Maven came back into the ring and hit a huge dropkicked! He grabbed Raven, hoping to get the title, but Raven countered and threw him out of the ring. He then took Goldust and nailed the DDT onto a steel chair, getting the three!
Raven laughed as he took his title and left the ring. He raised it high as he seemed to outsmart both Goldust and Maven tonight!
Still to come tonight, in our main event, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall take on Kane and The Rock!
Break
Trish Stratus def. Molly) Right off the bat we come back to Trish Stratus making her entrance. Trish finished off Molly with a Stratusfaction and possibly scored herself with a Woman’s Championship opportunity.
Trish celebrated her victory as the Woman’s Champion, Jazz, could be seen lurking on the stage.
Vince McMahon is shown backstage on a cell phone, saying he will sign Stone Cold to Smackdown! tonight. Suddenly, Austin makes his way onto the scene to a huge pop. Vince says he’s got to go and hangs up. McMahon asks Austin if he can help him, but it only gets a response of “WHAT?” McMahon tells Stone Cold he will be coming over to Smackdown! because he, Vince McMahons, cares about him. Austin just stares at Vince as he continues to try and persuade him, saying Flair does not care about his well being, and he just wants the money and ratings that he brings! He tries to bribe Austin, saying he’ll even give him a shot at the Undisputed Championship! Stone Cold smirks and tells him later tonight he’ll sign to whichever brand he pleases, and that’s the bottom line, cuz Stone Cold said so!
Up next is our main event, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall take on Kane and The Rock!
Break
Ric Flair is seen in his office, talking to Arn Anderson, when Stone Cold walks into the room. Flair smiles and tells Austin he is glad he will be joining the RAW brand. He stands up and offers to shake, but Austin looks at it and responds with “WHAT?” Ric tells Austin he assumed he would be signing with him after what everyone just saw. Steve smirks and tells Flair him and McMahon may be the two worst talkers he’s ever seen in his damn life! He goes on to say it’s time the both of them go back to the drawing board and meet him in the ring later on tonight, and maybe this time they can say something worth Stone Cold’s time. He leaves the room leaving Flair and Anderson behind, Flair pondering about what to do.
A replay from Smackdown! is shown, with Kane, Rock, and the nWo brawling in the parking lot.
Kane & The Rock def. Kevin Nash & Scott Hall VIA Disqualification) Nash and Hall tried to isolate Rock in this one and keep “The Big Red Machine” out. It couldn’t work forever as eventually Kane got a tag and chokeslammed Hall! He covered, but it was broken up by Nash. Later on in the match, Kane was on fire again, so Hall and Nash tried to double team. Rock came in and planted Hall with The Rock Bottom, and Kane grabbed Nash by the throat! Before Kane could do anything, X-Pac came in the ring and hit him with a steel chair!
It seemed to have no effect on him, and Kane turned around. X-Pac pleaded with him, but suddenly Nash hit him from behind with a low blow! Kane dropped to a knee, allowing X-Pac to hit him with the chair in the skull! The nWo celebrated in the ring, but now the Rock was back in with a chair himself! Pac and Nash left the ring and regrouped with Hall on the outside. The nWo backed up the ramp, smiling, as Kane sat up in the ring.
RAW Owner Ric Flair is shown walking down a hallway, Stone Cold Steve Austin signs to a brand, next!
Break
The theme of Flair hits to a nice pop. He comes out in his suit, RAW contract in hand. He thanks everyone for coming out and seeing the first ever Monday Night RAW in the Flair Era. He says it’s been a great show, and tonight is only the beginning! Flair is cut off by Mr. McMahon to heat. McMahon marches down the ramp and tells Flair this is one of the, perhaps the, worst episode of Monday Night RAW he has ever seen! It’s been complete and utter chaos, and all of the superstars are out of line in one night! That’s all it took for RAW to collapse. Yet, Smackdown! will be a different story. Smackdown! will produce the greatest television ever seen, and that is why Stone Cold Steve Austin will sign with him. The crowd boos as Flair goes to respond, but the theme song of Stone Cold hits again to a huge pop! Austin takes a microphone and tells them to both shut the hell up. Everyone is tired of their bickering. WHAT? Their bitching. WHAT? Their mouths. WHAT? And their childish antics. WHAT? He says they are going to settle this right now and grabs both contracts. He looks at both the RAW one, and the Smackdown! one before he drops the RAW contract! McMahon smiles and begins to laugh at Flair, but Austin tells Vince “April fools,” and he hits the Stunner on Vince! The crowd pops as Flair smiles and Austin picks up the RAW contract. Yet, instead of signing it, he pushes it into Flair’s chest and hits him with the Stunner! The crowd cheers and Austin’s theme hits. He calls for two cans of beer, which he pours onto both Flair and McMahon! He gets another two and chugs them on the turnbuckle as RAW goes off the air, what does this mean for Stone Cold’s future?

IC Title match was a great way to start off the show, Booker T seems on the back burner and I don't really like that. Eddie attacking RVD was great and am looking forward to the feud between the two. Heyman/Lesnar promo and the Rikishi match was a great way to get Lesnar over, then Heyman telling Lesnar to F-5 him put it over the top, more Lesnar domination please. Triple H segment was a fine way to continue his feud with Taker, Austin coming out was alright, but I don't think it was really necessary here though I look forward to seeing where he goes. nWo segment was good as was Austin appearing. Liked Bradshaw picking up the win and hopefully he gets a solid push up the ranks. Hardy's/Dudley's was a good match for number one contendership, Hardy's winning was expected and they should have a good match with Billy & Chuck. Kane/Rock segment was a lot of fun, really liking this unlikely alliance. Hardcore title stuff was the usual fun, liked Raven getting the better of Maven on two occasions. Liked Vince trying to bribe Austin and that was another fun segment. Jeez that's a lot of Austin, I think maybe a segment or two less would've been sufficient. Nice main event and the finish continues the feud there. Final contract signing segment was well written, but by now I'm sick of reading about Austin. Loved the use of the April Fool's joke and him stunning both men and that you are seemingly dragging this out some more.
Overall a fun, solid show to read and I look forward to more, keep it up.

WWF Jakked: Saturday 30th March 2002...I never knew that Jakked used that logo! I'm wondering if this is just a hint of the debut of WWE Velocity in a few weeks. The Hurricane and Crash Holly competing against Albert and Scotty 2 Hotty is fine, but Albert turning heel on Jakked of all programmes? I hate that. Should have taken place on SmackDown! for added effect to Albert's heel turn. I don't get why the Bossman ran down, unless you're looking to reform Albert and Bossman's alliance from 1999. Mark Henry beating D-Lo Brown has 1999 written all over it, and it's a nice blast from the past, three years after. Sad to see them both on Jakked of all programmes though. I don't know if you recall but D-Lo hadn't returned yet, but I'm all for it if you give him a good push. Chavo Guerrero beating Spike Dudley was fine, nice way to get the relatively unknown-to-the-WWE-crowd Chavo over with the fans. William Regal and Al Snow would have been great, good win for the WWF European Champion in the main event. Not a bad show, looking better than the show actually did at this point.
WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 31st March 2002...Alright, the final WWF show without the brand split. Good win for Mr Perfect against Goldust in a good, nostalgic encounter. Push Perfect, no doubt you will succeed with that. Rikishi beating Lance Storm sounded great, two big men of different sizes here. Jazz beating Ivory was a fine match, hopefully you make the WWF Womens Champion into a true monster of a Diva. The Dudley Boyz winning against Albert and the Bossman was a fair main event, didn't do too much for me though. Wish we had seen a tables spot to close out the show though. Not a bad weekend string of secondary television shows from SmackDown! and RAW, will be interesting to see how the brand split changes things from now on.

Right, I'm going to get into this. Four big matches for tonight's show, including the Stone Cold signing, I can't wait. Pleased to see Rob Van Dam retain, and it's an interesting situation with him, Booker T and Eddie Guerrero. I'd love to see Eddie take the title soon. An obvious victory for Brock Lesnar, and hopefully he rises right to the top, he's got tons of potential. Great segment between Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin, they always have great moments. A good victory for Bradshaw, I always saw a big future in him, he could be a World Title contender with his current gimmick, without the haircut. A good victory for the Hardy Boys and I would like to see them take the title from Billy and Chuck at Backlash. Funny segment between The Rock and Kane, classic for this era. I loved the Hardcore Championship when it was around, and I loved the 24/7 rule, so to see it in action here was great. Pleased to see Trish Stratus go over here. I like how Austin is giving no hints on who he will sign for, playing both General Managers against each other. Interesting Main Event with the DQ finish, but it makes sense to keep everyone strong. Austin doesn't sign at all? Wonder where you'll go with that. Overall, a good show.

WWF @ Rochester, NY - Blue Cross Arena - April 2, 2002 Last week’s episode of Smackdown! is recapped in a short video, mainly highlighting the Hollywood Hulk Hogan versus Chris Jericho match that was interrupted by The Undertaker. It cuts into a new video package for Smackdown!.
After the video package we are greeted by Michael and Tazz. They hype up first official McMahon Smackdown! with a huge main event of Chris Jericho and The Big Show taking on Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H! They also talk about how we are expected to hear from both The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin tonight. Speaking of Stone Cold, his theme blasts over the PA system to a huge ovation!
Austin makes his way out to the ring and grabs a microphone. He climbs in and wastes no time in speaking. He says everyone has been asking Stone Cold about his future. WHAT? His brand. WHAT? His contract. WHAT? Austin says there are two things he can never pass up. Beer and opportunity to open up a can of whoop ass on some sorry son of bitches. The crowd cheers as Austin says he will sign to a brand, but that will be on his own terms, not when Vince McMahon and Ric Flair are shoving contracts in his face. He says for now he’s going to have some fun, show up both brands, whoop ass, and raise hell everywhere he goes. And that’s the bottom line, cuz Stone Cold Said… but before Austin can finish his line, Mr. McMahon makes his way out to the stage! The crowd boos as McMahon tells Austin he can’t just expect to walk over here on Smackdown! and do what whatever he wants. He says Austin is a wrestler, so tonight he will have match against the European Champion, William Regal! The crowd boos as Austin tells McMahon to bring Regal’s ass down here. McMahon smirks, and suddenly Austin is attacked from behind by the champion! The crowd boos as Regal puts the boots to Austin. Austin is shaken as the champion grabs his title, and goes to hit him, but Stone Cold moves out of the way and hits the Stunner! The crowd pops as Regal flies out of the ring, Austin looking pissed!
Break
A replay is shown of the brawl between Stone Cold Steve Austin and European Champion, William Regal.
The Undertaker is shown arriving to the arena in the parking lot to a bit of a mixed reaction. Marc Lloyd tries to get a word with The Deadman once he steps into the building, but he blows him off and continues walking down the hall. What is “The American Badass” up to tonight?
Diamond Dallas Page def. Christian to earn a European Championship Match) Smackdown! kicked off with Wrestlemania X-8 rematch tonight, and the crowd was completely behind DDP. Christian nearly got the win with the Un-Prettier, but DDP was able to get out and hit the Diamond Cutter for the three!
The crowd pops as Page gets his arm raised high. He jumps to the middle turnbuckle where he throws up his signature diamond hand gesture before motioning for gold around his waist.
Backstage Chris Jericho barges into Mr. McMahon’s office, where Kurt Angle already is, complaining about Edge. Jericho demands to know what Vince will do about The Undertaker costing him a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Undisputed Championship last week. Vince tells Jericho he already has set up a match at Backlash. It will be Triple H defending the title against Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Chris Jericho in a triple threat match! The crowd pops, but Jericho complains that he deserves a one on one match! McMahon, not happy with Jericho’s attitude, tells him he will face Triple H one on one next week, and if ever barges into his office like this again, it’ll be a LONG time before he gets another title shot. Jericho realizes this and backs out of the room, Angle commenting about his bad attitude. Vince sighs and places his palm on his head before the segment fades out.
Break
A replay from Jakked is shown, where Albert turned on Scotty 2 Hotty to form an alliance with The Bossman. Michael Cole then announced that next week, right here on Smackdown!, Scotty 2 Hotty will face Albert.
Albert & The Bossman def. The Hurricane & Crash Holly) The crowd was behind the odd team of Crash Holly and Hurricane in this one, but the pure strength and size of their opponents was too much to handle. Albert finished Hurricane off with the Baldo Bomb as Bossman took care of Holly on the outside.
The reformed tandem of Albert and Bossman celebrated their victory in the ring as we went backstage.
Triple H is shown lacing his boots to a huge pop. Things get even louder as Hollywood Hogan walks into the room. Triple H gets defensive, but Hogan tells him to relax, brother. Hogan tells him he knows they have the big title match at Backlash, but tonight, they need to get the job done as a team. Hunter responds by saying he knows that, but he doesn’t think he can trust Hogan. With a track record like his, it might just be better to go at it alone. Hogan looks surprised and the champ continues by saying no matter what happens in the ring tonight, he’s walking out of Backlash still the WWF Undisputed Champion. Hogan smiles and says we’ll see about that, brother, before leaving the room.
Break
Michael Cole and Tazz are shown on commentary and they refer to the huge WWF Championship match announced by Mr. McMahon not too long ago. It will be Triple H versus Hollywood Hogan, versus Chris Jericho! Tazz says he wonders how exactly The Undertaker feels about this announcement. Cole says he feels Undertaker won’t be too happy, but then plugs the huge main event of Chris Jericho and The Big Show taking on the champion, Triple H, and Hulk Hogan! Suddenly, the theme of The Undertaker hits and Cole says he thinks they may get their answer right now!
‘Taker says he just heard the big news about the WWF Undisputed title match. He says all the little boys may be excited about this, but he’s pissed off. ‘Taker says this is his yard, and it’s about damn time he gets respect again. Undertaker talks about how Vince promised to make up for his mistake last week, but of course, that son of a bitch lied! ‘Taker puts everyone on notice, and threatens he will destroy everyone in the locker room until he finally gets a shot at the Undisputed Championship. As for now, he wants McMahon to get his sorry ass in this ring! Undertaker waits for a few moments, but McMahon still doesn’t come out. Now impatient, ‘Taker calls him a coward and he knew he wouldn’t confront him like a man. He warns Vince and Triple H that the blood is now on their hands. Undertaker drops the microphone and leaves the ring as his theme song plays.
Backstage Edge is shown preparing for his match against Test, it is up next!
Break
As we return to Smackdown! Shawn Stasiak is found being attended too by EMTs. Is this the work of The Undertaker? Another replay is shown, this time of Edge attacking Kurt Angle during his match with Rob Van Dam last week.
Test def. Edge) These two clashed before at Survivor Series 2001, but this match was fought on much different terms. At one point, Edge seemed to be closing on victory with the Spear, but Kurt Angle appeared on the ramp with a microphone. He asked Edge what was going through his mind when he decided to cost his brand the Intercontinental Championship last week. Edge is distracted by this and he turns his attention to Angle, allowing Test to get up and plant him with the Pump-Handle Slam!
The crowd booed as the ref raised Test’s hand in victory. Angle smirks and he walks down the ramp, taunting Edge. This proved to be a mistake, though, as once Edge got up he rolled out of the ring and went right after Angle! The crowd popped as Kurt ran off the ramp trying to escape him. Edge was right on his tail and chased him all the way backstage! It seemed as Kurt was nearly running for his life through the halls, tipping over trash cans and throwing papers. Nothing seemed to stop Edge, but eventually Angle threw over a table that bought him an extra second. By the time Edge got over the mess, Angle had gone down a hallway and disappeared from sight. Edge was looked extremely frustrated before the segment faded away.
Meanwhile, outside of Mr. McMahon’s office, security guards are standing by. Does this have something to do with The Undertaker as well?
Up next, Stone Cold Steve Austin faces European Champion William Regal.
Break
Non-Title; Stone Cold Steve Austin def. European Champion William Regal VIA DQ) Neither man was in a good mood tonight. Regal had a great showing against the former WWF Champion, but eventually Austin got on a roll was looking for the Stunner. This prompted Regal to pull out a pair of brass knuckles, which he nailed Austin right in the head with!
The referee called for the bell as Austin fell, holding his head. Regal had a disgusted look on his face as he left the ring and took the European Championship. Regal climbed into the ring, but suddenly Diamond Dallas Page ran out and chased Regal off! Regal backed up the ramp, clutching his title. DDP turned around to an irate Austin, and understating the situation, he left the ring. Austin left the ring as well, storming up the ramp.
In the backstage area, we can see Edge is still after Kurt Angle. Edge is checking behind multiple corners before he comes across the locker room. He enters to find a few wrestlers, including Hugh Morrus and Faarooq, and he asks where Kurt is. They say they don’t know, but suddenly Angle attacks Edge from behind! The two erupt in a brawl, trading fists. Eventually, the other superstars step in and separate the two. Smackdown! goes to a break with Faarooq taking Edge out of the room.
Break
We see Michael Cole and Tazz, welcoming us back to Smackdown!. They say another huge announcement has been made, as Kurt Angle versus Edge has been booked for Backlash! A graphic appears on the screen, and these two rivals will finally collide in two weeks!
Marc Llyod is set to interview The Big Show backstage. He asks Show about tonight’s main event. Show says tonight is his opportunity to get back in the scene for the WWF Undisputed Championship. He says he’s been thrown on the back burner as of late, but now it’s time for the giant inside to wake up. He says he doesn’t care if your Triple H, Hulk Hogan, or Chris Jericho. If you get in his way tonight, it’s not going to end well. He smiles before getting serious again and says he’s putting whoever wins the triple threat at Backlash on notice, because he will be coming for their title.
Non Title; Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri w/ Torrie Wilson def. Chavo Guerrero) This was Chavo’s first main show appearance since the Alliance went out of business. Chavo held his own against the current champion, but all it took was one Buzz saw Kick to put the former wCw superstar down.
Tajiri celebrates with the Cruiserweight Championship as we fade out to a video package.
A video package hyping up Backlash is played, featuring the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H.
We are once again taken to outside Mr. McMahon’s office were security is standing. Suddenly, The Undertaker approaches and the guards tighten up. Instead of fighting the guards, ‘Taker tells them to leave McMahon this message. He grabs a just passing by Funaki by the throat and tosses him right into the wall! Funaki sinks to the ground and ‘Taker leaves, snaring, as one of the guards check on Funaki.
Up next is our main event, as the Undisputed Champion Triple H and Hollywood Hulk Hogan take on Chris Jericho and The Big Show!
Break
WWF Undisputed Champion Triple H and Hollywood Hulk Hogan def. Chris Jericho and The Big Show) The finish came when Big Show accidently hit a big boot on his own partner, and Triple H and Hogan teamed up to throw him out of the ring. Hogan then came crashing down on Jericho and hooked the leg to get the three!
After the match, Hunter and Hogan immediately engage in a stare down. The fans get on their feet as just before they trade blows, the theme song of The Undertaker hits! Triple H and Hogan turn their attention to the stage, and await his arrival. After a while, ‘Taker doesn’t show, but Jericho comes in the ring with a chair and hits Hunter in the back! The champ falls out of the ring as Hogan turns around and gets planted in the skull! The crowd boos as Jericho drops the chair and picks up the undisputed title. He stands over Hogan, holding the title, and smirking as Smackdown! goes off the air.

WWF RAW: Monday 1st April 2002...Alright, I'm looking forward to this. I'd find a better graphic though, that image looks squeezed to hell. Nice touch adding Ric Flair welcoming everyone to the new Monday Night RAW. I'm interested in seeing what transpires tonight. I see you kept the original opening contest with Rob Van Dam facing Booker T, hot opening contest, RVD retaining the WWF Intercontinental Championship was expected. Eddie Guerrero returning like in real life was the best thing to do, good idea. Paul Heyman's promo to build Brock Lesnar was written nicely, and a decent win for Lesnar against Rikishi to follow. Hopefully Rikishi still gets something of a push again, he wasn't a bad big man worker. Solid promo from Triple H, but it's interesting that Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to respond just before he decides whether or not to sign with RAW opposed to SmackDown! I see you sticking with him on RAW though. I don't need to see another Triple H and Austin feud though, despite the fact that the ending of the Power Trip in 2001 went without closure. Bradshaw beating Lance Storm was a fine decision, but it didn't do a lot for me honestly. Hoping that both of these guys get a good push; establish a good character for Storm, he's generic here. Giving away the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz on RAW is huge, but this is where you need to start inventing tag teams and changing up the scene; these two are the best two teams that the World Wrestling Federation has to offer. Hopefully we see something new from D-Von and Bubba Ray in the near future. Jeff and Matt going to face Billy and Chuck at Backlash could be a good one though. Liked The Rock's promo, but God RAW is stacked. Raven beating Maven to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship was nice, as is Goldust making the run in, but remember that the champ didn't have to pin the guy making the 24/7 rule run-in; all he had to do was escape them. That just hurt Goldust in my mind. Trish Stratus beating Molly...oh dear. Hopefully Molly Holly gets a revamped gimmick. I always felt that Jazz brought the best out of Trish, so their match for the WWF Womens Championship at Backlash should be good. Steve Austin has a lot of air time tonight. A promo, a segment, and later the contract signing. Kane and The Rock beating Kevin Nash and Scott Hall was a decent choice of a main event, and X-Pac taking Kane down was an interesting move. I wonder if you write Kane out or not, hopefully not though. Try and make the nWo as powerful as possible and not an absolute failure. Lastly, well written main event segment, liked Austin turning on Ric Flair AND Vince McMahon by not signing either contract, that's a very Austin thing to do. A solid first show.
WWF SmackDown!: Thursday 4th April 2002...Stone Cold Steve Austin kicking off the first SmackDown! of the Draft Era is great, to explain his attack on both Ric Flair and Vince McMahon on RAW. A great promo from Austin stating that he wanted to remain on both brands, did like McMahon coming out, but didn't understand William Regal of all people coming out, especially with what's next. Either way, Regal and Austin always had good matches. Diamond Dallas Page beating Christian in a WrestleMania X8 rematch was a good choice, happy to see DDP with the win and hopefully he manages to regain the WWF European Championship from Regal. I always felt it was silly that RAW had both of the midcard focused title belts and SmackDown! had none. Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle wanting a piece of everyone, haha. So many people are gunning for the WWF Undisputed Championship. Not so sure about Y2J tagging along with Triple H and Hollywood Hogan at Backlash though, it ruins it sort of. Albert and the Bossman is still a strange combination to me. Where's Hardcore Holly at? The Hurricane and Crash Holly is a strange tag team that needs some comedy segments for me to adjust to them. Hogan and Hunter's interaction backstage was a nice touch. Test beating Edge was a great call, I hope Test keeps up with his push in the near future. Liked Kurt Angle's involvement with the situation though. I still see you going for Hair vs Hair next month at Judgment Day. It'd be too soon for it to happen at Backlash. Austin beating Regal was a good call in a solid match, liked Regal hiding away with the brass knuckles getting himself disqualified, but hated DDP running out. And not eating a Stunner; not very Austin like at all. Chavo Guerrero Jr, wheeey. Tajiri defeating Chavo was a nice match to showcase the cruiserweight division and hopefully the WWF Cruiserweight Championship gets a lot of potential to it. Just don't jump the gun and hire Rey Mysterio Jr too early. Lastly, solid tag team main event with Triple H and Hollywood Hogan beating Chris Jericho and the Big Show. Loved the Undertaker's involvement, but man immediately Show seems like the odd one out, which is bad. Overall, a great show, but RAW wins the war this week in my mind.

Smackdown - Austin opening the show is good and his interaction with McMahon was fun and well written. William Regal seems like an odd choice of opponent but it should be fun. DDP yay, hopefully he gets a good push even above the European Title. Jericho/Angle/Vince segment was a lot of fun, seems a bit weird to announce the title match seemingly out of no where like that but still a fun segment. , hopefully Hogan starts to get booked in the big dream one on one matches with the likes of Triple H, Undertaker, Angle, Billy, Austin etc. Albert/Bossman/Crash/Hurricane was complete throwaway. Liked the Triple H/Hogan segment and would like to see a one on one match between the two at some point. Undertaker segment was really well written, looking forward to seeing how you progress his character. Test over Edge is fine with Angle causing the distraction, don't really know if benefits either Test or Edge though. Liked the Austin/Regal match and Regal using the brass knucks was good. The Edge/Angle segment was another well written one and liked the brawl between the two, looking forward to their matches. Tajiri & Chavo again seemed kind of throwaway with no real purpose. Undertaking tossing Funaki made me laugh. Main Event was solid, aftermath was better makes Jericho look strong and the Taker theme was a nice touch.
Overall another solid show, probably a couple too many matches/segments with no real purpose but this is still a really good read and this is quickly becoming one of my favourites on the board.

WWF @ Rochester, NY - Blue Cross Arena - April 6, 2002 Hugh Morrus def. Funaki) Funaki didn’t stand much of a chance against Hugh Morrus tonight. Eventually Morrus got the win with the beautiful No Laughing Matter. Faarooq def. Mark Henry) For the second week in a row, Mark Henry faced a former tag team partner. This week, he wasn’t as successful. As he loaded Faarooq up for the World’s Strongest Slam, Faarooq slipped out and hit his own power slam, getting the three! Shawn Stasiak def. Tommy Dreamer) This was Shawn Stasiak’s re-debut in the WWE. Dreamer brought it to the former wCw tag team champion, but was eventually finished off by a Bridging Suplex. WWF Tag Team Champion Billy w/Chuck & Rico def. Val Venis) One half of the WWF Tag Team Champions was in singles action this week, looking to gain momentum going into the match with the Hardy Boyz. Billy was able to get the win following a Famouser to Val Venis. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *WWF @ Albany, NY - Pepsi Arena - April 7, 2002 X-Pac def. D-Lo Brown) X-Pac and D-Lo are no strangers to each other, once feuding over the European Championship. Tonight on HeAT, X-Pac was able to get the win over D-Lo after dodging a huge splash and hitting the X-Factor. Al Snow def. Perry Saturn) This was Saturn’s first match since the Brand Extension, but it wasn’t a good one, as Al Snow captured the win with the Snow Plow. Haku def. Spike Dudley) Spike Dudley has had a string of unsuccessful matches recently, and that continued with a loss of Haku following an Asian Spike. Goldust def. Mr. Perfect) Goldust managed to gain a measure of revenge over Mr. Perfect tonight, countering a Perfect Plex into a roll up for the three! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *WWF News Update JERICHO STANDS TALL; BIG SHOW FALLS? -To close the show on Smackdown! Chris Jericho took out both Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Triple H as they were distracted by The Undertaker's theme music. Jericho then stood tall with both titles, as pictured above. Apparently, that wasn't the original plan. The first plan was to have Jericho convince Big Show to lay them out before locking in the walls on Triple H. We here have learned during the match, it seemed Big Show suffered some sort of a knee injury, where he had to roll outside of the ring and be attended to. A quick change of plans were made to have Jericho attack them from behind and stand tall. It is not sure if it was a serious and small injury, we'll be sure to keep you updated. -Also, Smackdown! drew a 4.1 ratings as Monday Night RAW drew a 4.8 rating. They were both the first shows under the brand extension. RAW was highlighted by The Rock and Kane taking on the nWo and Stone Cold's confrontation with Mr. McMahon and Ric Flair. Smackdown! was highlighted by Stone Cold Steve Austin versus European Champion William Regal, The Undertaker taking out multiple superstars, plus, Triple H and Hulk Hogan versus Chris Jericho and the Big Show. -Eddie Guerrero officially returned on RAW, and he is now a member of the RAW brand. -The King of the Ring tournament has been OFFICIALLY been booked, and it has been confirmed the winner will receive a WWF Undisputed Championship match at Summerslam.

WWF Jakked: Saturday 6th April 2002...Nice win for Hugh Morrus to kick off the show against Funaki. I hope you keep Funaki at least semi-relevant. Faarooq beating Mark Henry was a strange match, since both men are face at this point, and I don't think we've seen a heel turn as of yet. Shawn Stasiak beating Tommy Dreamer I can live with, I still think Stasiak was too green at this point though. Billy beating Val Venis was a good main event to Jakked, although Venis was injured around this time I believe. Not a bad episode, just a few tiny hiccups.
WWF Sunday Night Heat: Sunday 7th April 2002...Alright, let's see what we have. X-Pac and D-Lo Brown had some great matches in 1998, very underrated performers, but X-Pac with the win was the better decision. This could have easily main evented by the way. Also I need to remind you again that D-Lo hadn't returned by this point. Al Snow beating Perry Saturn smells like 2000. Haku beating Spike Dudley was a fine decision, hopefully you really hit the nail on the head with this "underdog" thing. Haku I hope goes reasonably far, too. I'd have seen him better suited on SmackDown! too, while we're on the subject. Goldust and Mr Perfect was classic early 2002 B-show material. Sad to see Perfect lose to the cradle though. Ah well, not a bad show overall, but Heat is essentially being used as a nostalgia fest from the true Attitude Era years before. Which I'm not too happy with honestly, try and originate from that.

Credit to ElliotWWF @ Phoenix, AZ - America West Arena - April 8, 2002 A video plays; recapping last week’s broadcast of Monday Night RAW with Ric Flair and Mr. McMahon trying to sign Stone Cold Steve Austin to their shows. It show both of Austin’s confrontation with Flair and McMahon. The package finally reaches to the in ring confrontation, where Flair and McMahon made their final claims to get Austin to sign on to their brands. It appears as Austin will sign with Smackdown! and McMahon, but suddenly he hits Vince with the Stunner! Then, before he signs with Flair and RAW, he hits Ric with the Stunner! The video ends as Stone Cold chugs down two cans of beer on the top turnbuckle.
The pyro goes off and we are greeted by Jim Ross and Jerry “the King” Lawler. They welcome us to Monday Night RAW and hype up a huge night as Backlash nears closer! They say tonight Steve Austin is here, Brock Lesnar and Mr. Perfect team up to face Rikishi and Goldust; WWF Tag Team Champion Billy takes on Jeff Hardy; Eddie Guerrero makes his in-ring return against the Intercontinental Champion, Rob Van Dam; then the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H, will go one on one with the nWo member Scott Hall; in what is sure to be an interesting match! The theme of Ric Flair hits to a huge pop from the crowd.
Flair welcomes everyone to the show and thanks the fans for joining them. He talks about how Vince McMahon is obviously trying to fill Backlash with a huge presence from Smackdown! with Edge versus Kurt Angle and two Smackdown! superstars getting a WWF Undisputed title shot. He says he will not be out done by McMahon, so he is officially adding a huge match from Monday Night RAW to the Backlash card! It will be the nWo; Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and X-Pac, facing Kane and The Rock in a No Holds Barred match! He says their feud has gotten out of control of the past few weeks, and it is going to be one hell of a fight. Flair adds tonight we will see Eddie Guerrero take on the Intercontinental Champion, Rob Van Dam, but for right now, we will kick things off with Scott Hall taking on Triple H! The crowd pops and Flair lets out a huge “WOO!” before leaving.
Non-Title; WWF Undisputed Champion Triple H vs. Scott Hall goes to a No Contest) This match was bound to explode as soon as the rest of the nWo made their way out. X-Pac tried to interfere, but eventually Rock and Kane made their way out for the save! An all out brawl broke out and the ref called for the bell.
Triple H, Rock, and Kane brawled with the nWo all over the ring and the crowd loved it. Soon enough, the voice of Ric Flair was heard as he appeared on the Titantron. The six men seemed to not notice and they continued to fight, but eventually referees stepped in again to break the melee up. The six men turned their attention to the Titantron where Flair said he knew he wasn’t going to keep everyone under control tonight… so we will see a little preview of Backlash tonight! Our main event will be a six man tag match, with the nWo taking on Kane, the Rock, and the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H! The crowd popped and all six men seemed pleased with the announcement.
Break
In the parking lot Stone Cold Steve Austin is arriving to the arena. Jonathan Coachman catches up with him before he enters the arena, Austin not looking pleased at being stopped. Coach asks Austin what are his intentions for tonight after the conclusion of RAW last Monday. Austin tells Coach he’s here to raise hell, the way only Stone Cold knows how to do it! He also says to him if he disturbs him again like this, he’ll open a can of whoop ass on him, and that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so!
Jim Ross and Jerry “the King” Lawler welcome us back to Monday Night RAW and they hype up our main event of the nWo versus Kane, Rock, and Triple H again. JR asks the question of what does Stone Cold have planned for Monday Night RAW tonight. King’s response is simply Austin’s going to raise some hell! Jim Ross then turns the focus over to Brock Lesnar and Rikishi, and the series of problems they’ve had the past two weeks. A replay is shown of last week with Brock Lesnar attacking Rikishi after their match and hitting the F-5.
Brock Lesnar & Mr. Perfect w/Paul Heyman def. Rikishi & Goldust) This match was a combination of two feuds on Monday Night RAW, with Lesnar and Perfect taking on Rikishi and Goldust. Tonight Perfect got the better of Goldust, distracting him long enough to allow Lesnar to hit the F-5 and secure the win!
The crowd booed following the match as Lesnar and Perfect looked to continue the assault. Lesnar hoisted Goldust up onto his shoulders again, but Rikishi slid in the ring for the save! Rikishi hitting the superkick on Mr. Perfect! Lesnar looked ready to fight Rikishi, but Paul Heyman stepped in between the two. He convinced his client to leave the ring, leaving Rikishi disappointed. The two had their eyes locked the entire time as Lesnar backed on the ramp, smirking.
A graphic appeared, saying the WWF Tag Team Champion Billy versus Jeff Hardy is up next!
Break
The WWF Tag Team Champions made their entrance to the ring as we we’re taken back to two weeks at the draft in a replay. It showed the match between the champs and The Hardy Boyz, with Jeff and Matt getting the win over Billy and Chuck. JR says if the Hardyz can pull it off again at Backlash, they will become our new WWF tag team champions!
WWF Tag Team Champion Billy w/Rico and Chuck def. Jeff Hardy w/Matt Hardy and Lita) Billy looked to avenge the lost to Jeff and Matt from the draft, and he just did that with some aid from Rico. As Matt Hardy was dealing with Chuck, Rico distracted the ref so Billy could hit the low blow and hit the Famouser for the three!
Billy made a quick exit after the match and grouped up with Chuck and Rico. Billy and Chuck raised their titles high in the air, leaving the Hardyz irate in the ring.
The Intercontinental Champion, Rob Van Dam, is seen getting ready for his match backstage. Jonathan Coachman approaches him and Rob causally asks what’s up. Coach explains he wanted to get a few words in with him before his match. Van Dam said he was cool with that and Coach asked him for his thoughts on Eddie Guerrero’s return to the WWE last week, and seeking him out as the target. Van Dam explains it’s no surprise Eddie came after him, seeing as he is the Intercontinental Champion. He also adds Eddie can’t take him by surprise tonight, and it will be straight up one on one. Rob vows to make sure Eddie knows he made the wrong choice to make a statement off of…. ROB… VAN… DAM!
Break
The theme of Eddie Guerrero hits and Jim Ross welcomes us back to Monday Night RAW. Eddie struts his way out to the ring and takes a microphone. He says last week he made a statement upon his return to the WWE in attacking Rob Van Dam. He says tonight Latino Heat will be alive and well as he will beat Rob Van Dam. Eddie makes the claim after he beats Robby tonight, he’s going to make sure he gets his rightful Intercontinental Championship match, and he will rightfully reclaim what is his – and by any means necessary! The theme of Rob Van Dam hits to a loud pop from the crowd and his pyro shoots off. RVD makes his way out to the ring, Eddie attacking him as soon as he slides in!
Non-Title; Eddie Guerrero def. Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam) The crowd booed at Eddie for his sneaky tactics, but he couldn’t keep Van Dam down. In the end, Van Dam went for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Eddie was playing possum and rolled out of the way! He cockily went to the top and hit his own Frog Splash, getting the three!
After the match Eddie celebrated his win, holding his ribs and with a smiling. He raised his own hand in victory before leaving the ring and grabbing the Intercontinental Championship. He slid back in the ring as Van Dam just started to get back on his feet. Eddie goes to hit him with the title, but RVD ducks! He trips Eddie with his feet, knocking him over. Guerrero rolls out of the ring, furious. Rob picks up his title and taunts to Eddie from the top turnbuckle, he sits on the floor yelling back at RVD.
Backstage Jonathan Coachman is standing by with Kane and the Rock, RAW’s newest unlikely alliance. Coach asks them about their No Holds Barred match with the nWo at Backlash, but he is cut off by Rock. Rock says some in the back might be calling it a handicap match for the Rock and Kane, but it is truly a handicap match for the nWo. Simply because of the fact nobody has the back of the nWo, but for the Rock and Kane? Oh no… they will be going out there with the millions, but he is interrupted by Kane who says “MILLIONS of the Rock and Kane’s fans!” The crowd laughs as Rock looks at Kane and cocks an eyebrow. He asks him what in the blue hell does he think he is doing stealing the Rock’s lines again? Kane tells Rock he is the Monster’s Champion! Rock continues to look at him, confused, before turning back to Coach. He says without a shadow of a doubt… the Rock and Kane will go out there… and they WILL lay the smackdown on all of the nWo’s candy asses, with or without Triple H! Kane chimes in again saying people may think he’s having fun now, but the true fun begins when he gets his hands on the nWo! Before Kane can say anymore, Rock yells “IF YA SMELLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK AND KANE ARE COOKING!” Kane nods in agreement as Rock cocks his eyebrow again, walking off as RAW goes to a break.
Break
Rob Van Dam is seen in the trainer’s room, clutching his ribs, talking to the doctor. Suddenly, an irate Eddie Guerreo busts into the room, yelling at Van Dam “you’re gonna pay, esse!” Van Dam asks is he going to pay because you’re a coward who needs to use every dirty trick in the book to win one match. Rob adds on this is the closest he’ll ever get to his title again. Eddie, already enraged, snaps and attacks RVD, shoving him into the table! Van Dam lets out a cry of pain for the already injured ribs as Eddie continues the attack. He lays in punch after punch, but RVD refuses to give up. He kicks Eddie in the knee once and begins to throw his own punches. Staff finally gets in the room and separates the two, Eddie and Rob trying everything to get at each other!
Hardcore Champion Raven def. Bradshaw) Bradshaw may have just been the toughest challenge for Raven to date. He and Raven beat the tar out of each other, but Raven picked up the win after dodging the Clothesline from Hell and hitting his DDT onto a chair!
Following the match, Bradshaw is laid out in the ring as Raven is handed his Hardcore Championship. He smirks, but suddenly Maven slides into the ring! Raven turns around, and he gets hit by a huge dropkick!
Hardcore Champion Raven def. Maven) Maven goes for the cover, but Raven kicks out. Maven grabs the chair and goes for a nasty shot, but he gets hit with the low blow! Raven nails the Even Flow DDT, planting Maven to the canvas.
Rave smirks and tosses him out of the ring. Raven picks up his title and extends his arms, not knowing that Bradshaw is back up!
Bradshaw def. Hardcore Champion Raven) Raven finally turns around again, and Bradshaw connects with the Clothesline from Hell! He covers and gets the three!
The crowd pops as Bradshaw has won the Hardcore Championship! He takes the title and exits the ring, holding it up high. Raven remains down on the mat, holding his head. Bradshaw smiles with the title in hand and heads up the ramp.
Trish Stratus is shown walking down a corridor backstage; the number one contender is in tag team action, next!
Break
Molly is already in the ring, posing on the turnbuckle, as the theme of Trish Stratus hits to a loud pop. The crowd pops and as Trish makes her way out to the ring, we are taken to a replay of last week where Trish defeated Molly to become the number one contender for the Woman’s Championship.
Ivory & Jazz def. Trish Stratus & Molly) Halfway through the match, Trish went to tag in Molly, but she jumped off the apron! The crowd booed and Molly left the area, leaving Trish victim to an onslaught from Jazz and Ivory. Eventually Jazz got the win with the Bitch Clamp.
After the bell Jazz is awarded the WWF Woman’s Championship and she puts her foot over Trish’s body. She raises the title in the air as Molly has disappeared from site.
Backstage, the nWo is seen walking down a hallway. They act like bullies to the staff members as they talk amongst themselves about their series of matches coming up. X-Pac says Triple H has obviously gone soft since they last hung out, so maybe it’s time they toughen him up again? Nash and Hall agree before Hall says at Backlash they get to finish the job on Rock and Kane. He says after Backlash, they’re going to make sure Kane and Rock are never on Monday Night RAW again! After pushing another staff member away, the Hardcore Champion, Bradshaw, approaches them. He tells the nWo it’s time they stop acting like a bunch of bullies and pick on someone their own size. Nash tells him to cool it; they’re not looking for any trouble. Bradshaw turns to walk away, but suddenly Nash takes him and throws him right into a crate! X-Pac hits him with a superkick and orders a nearby ref to count the pin as he steps on him! X-Pac just stole the Hardcore Championship!
Up next is our main event, the nWo versus Kane, the Rock, and the WWF Undisputed Champion; Triple H!
An advertisement for Backlash is played, it is live only on pay per view; April 21st!
Break
Triple H, The Rock, and Kane def. The nWo) The nWo seemed extra confident here, after X-Pac just stole the Hardcore Championship. This one was an all out riot, but eventually Kane secured the win with a Chokeslam on Scott Hall.
After the match, Triple H, Rock, and Kane celebrated their victory in the ring. Suddenly, the nWo regrouped and attacked them from behind! They started the beatdown, taking full control of the brawl. X-Pac went for a superkick on the Rock, but he ducked it, sending the champ out of the ring! Rock went right after him, and they began a huge brawl on the floor! Meanwhile, Nash hit Kane with a huge big boot, knocking him out of the ring. Nash went out to finish the job, but was met by a huge uppercut! This left Triple H and Hall in the ring, but their confrontation was interrupted by the glass shattering! Scott took Hunter down with a low blow, getting ready for Austin’s arrival. Stone Cold came out flying, running into the ring, dodging a clothesline. He hit Hall with right after left, throwing him into the turnbuckle. He measured for the Stunner, but it was interrupted by a pedigree from Triple H! Meanwhile, on the outside, the Rock had just cleared off the announcers table, and he put X-Pac through it with the Rock Bottom! On the other side, Kevin Nash threw Kane into the ring post, knocking him out! Back in the ring, Triple H was posing with his two titles on the turnbuckle, but once he came off, he ate a Stunner from Austin! The crowd went wild as everyone was down, Stone Cold standing tall in another chaotic scene to end Monday Night RAW!

Look at that shmexy graphic, eh? Anyway, some great matches made for Backlash on the RAW side of things. The opening contest was a good way to set up tonight's Six-Man Tag Team Main Event, but I think it takes away from the Backlash match a bit, so unsure on that decision. An extremely odd tag team match there, but glad to see Brock Lesnar and Mr. Perfect with the victory. This Lesnar/Rikishi fued is getting interesting now. A good victory for Billy there, but I hope to see The Hardy Boyz take the titles at Backlash. This victory for Eddie Guerrero puts him in line for an Intercontinental Championship Match, and I hope to see him win the title too. Great segment with The Rock and Kane, haha. Loving the Hardcore Championship matches, this 24.7 ruling is great. Divaaaaaaas. Oh wow, X-Pac takes the Hardcore Championship, that's big. A good victory for the faces in the Main Event, but like I said, kind of takes away from the Backlash match in a way. Liked Stone Cold Steve Austin standing tall at the end of the show.

April 1 RAW-RVD beating Booker was good, I don't like how Booker seems kind of lost in the shuffle. Though I am pleased EG and RVD get to have the IRL feud. Lesnar beating Rikishi is good, keep Brock and Heyman for a long time please. I like the Triple H/Austin segment, hopefully we'll see a another go-around down the line. I like that Bradshaw won, but at the expense of Lance Storm saddens me, hope you keep Storm relevant. Glad Hardyz won, should be a good match at Backlash. Wonderfully written Kane-Rock segment, really captured Kane's funny side. I like Raven keeping his Hardcore title in two matches. Like seeing Trish get a chance at Jazz. I like the DQ finish, can't wait to see what follows. Austin not signing with either is good and keep this intriguing. Good RAW
SD April 2- Austin's opening promo was good, Regal/Austin will be good stuff. DDP winning is good, and hopefully you push him to the moon, WWE wasted him so much. Jericho-Angle-Vince segment was good did it's purpose of announcing a very good title match at Backlash. Tag match wasn't nothing special, I like Bossman/Albert tandem. I like Undertaker's frustration, really enjoyed his heel run in '02. Test over Edge is meh, if Test doesn't profit from it but Angle's interference was good. I liked the Austin/Regal finish, though I expected DDP to get stunned. Filler Cruiserweight Match, gets Tajiri over as champ. I liked main event, and Jericho ending Smackdown on top was good.
RAW- I loved the new grapic. I liked how the Triple H-Hall turned into a brawl, which sets up a star-studded main event. I liked Lesnar/Perfect winning, loving Lesnar domination. I like Billy winning, and hopefully they retain. Hardyz were a tad stale at this point imo. Eddie winning is good, which sets up an awesome match at Backlash. Another good Kane-Rock promo. I like Bradshaw leaving Hardcore champion, 24-7 rule FTW. Diva's match meh. X-Pac taking the Hardcore belt is very very intriguing, nWo now has a "belt". I liked the faces winning but would rather the match end in DQ since this was essenially the Backlash match. SCSA standing tall was good way to end.

WWF Monday Night RAW: Monday 8th April 2002...Alright, nice looking graphics from Elliot. Ric Flair kicking off the show was a nice way to start things off, but the RAW Owner simply set up a few matches for Backlash and tonight, something that could just as easily be accomplished from Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, with Flair maybe adding the match to Backlash in a backstage segment. It didn't seem necessary. Surprisingly hot main event quality match to start off with Triple H and Scott Hall, did like the nWo, Kane and The Rock getting involved though. Rock and Triple H on the same team tonight? That'll be quite tense between the two. Nice leadup to a main event though, I always loved that style of build. Also, the handicap match booked for Backlash sounds really good. Could we possibly see Bradshaw get added? Brock Lesnar and Mr Perfect was a strange combination to see, but I like the idea of Rikishi being Brock's first feud, he'd make Brock look pretty big with a victory. Paul Heyman getting in between the two was nice. "Taming the animal". I never liked the build to a WWF Tag Team Championship match (or any tag feud for that matter) where one superstar of each team would face each other. This is an exception I guess, it's just a no-brainer method of booking. Billy getting the cheap win over Jeff Hardy was fair, I can imagine Matt Hardy will get even once he meets Chuck in action, probably next week. Rob Van Dam's interview was quite good. Eddie Guerrero's promo was quite good, it explained why he returned and targeted the WWF Intercontinental Champion anyway. Eddie with a clean win over RVD will most likely set up a title match at Backlash, not too original with this. Hopefully we do see a great follow up at Judgment Day next month though. Loved the little write-up for The Rock and Kane's interview, very smooth. Oh,E ddie attacking RVD in the trainer's room? Like it, Eddie has a bodypart to go after from here. Raven beating Bradshaw was a nice WWF Hardcore Championship defense, but again, you need to realize that when Maven runs in with a referee; Raven doesn't need to beat him, he can run away. And the cowardly heel champion is always better than the fighting heel champion. Did like Bradshaw getting the win and the title though. Ivory and Jazz beating Trish Stratus and Molly Holly is fine, intriguing set up with Molly randomly disappearing. Wonder if we'll see Molly turn brunette sooner than expected. Takes the attention away from Trish and Jazz's WWF Womens Championship feud though. The nWo taking out Bradshaw to win the WWF Hardcore Championship for X-Pac? Great move, I like it a lot. This adds to the idea of the nWo facing Rock, Kane and Bradshaw at Backlash. That I can get behind. Triple H, The Rock and Kane then beating the nWo was a nice finish, but wow I liked the finish. Stone Cold Steve Austin getting involved? Not too sure why, I thought his business with the nWo ended at WrestleMania X8 when he beat Scott Hall. I don't get what he could contribute to the feud. Nonetheless, not a bad show, just nothing too noteworthy so far. A few booking errors I found as well.

Nice match added for Backlash. Scott Hall/Triple H starting things off is huge, nice brawl though to set up the main event. Decent tag match with a couple of weird pairings, don't know about Lesnar teaming with people, liked Heyman stepping in between Lesnar/Kish and to set up another match down the line. Good match between Billy/Jeff and nice to see Billy get the win. Solid RVD & Guerrero promos to set up their feud, nice win for Eddie setting up the Backlash match, enjoying this feud and hopefully it continues well past Backlash. I'm really liking the Rock/Kane alliance the write-ups for their segments are really well written and enjoyable. Liked Eddie attacking RVD in the trainers room, good feud progression. Hardcore title stuff was weird this week, with Bradshaw losing and then picking up the title, seems a bit weird booking but did like Bradshaw leaving with the title. Decent Divas tag match, Molly heel turn could be interesting and the Jazz/Trish feud continues. Like the segment with nWo and XPac stealing the Hardcore Championship. Don't know why the faces went over clean here, makes the nWo look weak heading into Backlash. The post match brawl was really good though.
Overall a decent show, I thought the segments were well written and were the highlight, the booking was a little weird but Backlash is shaping up nicely. Keep it up.

WWF @ Tucson, AZ - Convention Center - April 9, 2002 A video package hyping up last week is shown. It features The Undertaker’s promo and his path of destruction, taking out Funaki and Shawn Stasiak. The next thing shown is the segment between Triple H and Hulk Hogan, both men claiming that they will out with the Undisputed Championship at Backlash. It skips onto the main event match between the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan versus Chris Jericho and the Big Show. It shows multiple highlights throughout the match, including a Breakdown from Jericho to Triple H, a double choke slam from Big Show, and the ending leg drop from Hogan. Hogan and Hunter stare down, but upon the theme song of The Undertaker, Chris Jericho attacks both men with a steel chair! The package closes with Jericho standing tall over Hogan, holding both titles up high.
Following the opening video and pyro display, we are greeted by Michael Cole and Tazz. They hype up yet another explosive edition of Smackdown! live from the Convention Center in Tucson, Arizona! They say a huge card has been lined up for tonight, including Diamond Dallas Page and Faarooq taking on William Regal and Christian! They also hype up the road to Backlash continues, as all three men involved in the WWF Undisputed Championship match will meet in the ring tonight, but not only that, they will be in action! Hollywood Hulk Hogan takes on the Big Show, WWF Undisputed Champion Triple H takes on Test, and in our main event; Chris Jericho battles Stone Cold Steve Austin! Tazz also mentions he received word Mr. McMahon plans on dealing with the Undertaker, tonight! The theme of Chris Jericho hits to a chorus of boos from the crowd.
Jericho has a huge smirk on his face after what he did last week. The crowd boos him as he continues to make his way down. Jericho takes a microphone and hops in the ring. Jericho says last week he proved two things. He proved Triple H’s victory over him at Wrestlemania was a fluke; and that he will out of Backlash the Undisputed Champion. Jericho says he is the “King of Smackdown” and soon enough he will be the “King of the WWE” when he beats Triple H, and puts Hulk Hogan out of his misery. Jericho calls Hogan a washed up glory hog who can’t stand to see someone like Chris Jericho, who is more talented than Hogan ever was in his prime, be in the spotlight. Jericho vows to win the Undisputed Championship again, but he is cut off by the music of “the Game,” Triple H! The crowd goes nuts as he makes his way out to the ring, grabbing a microphone. Triple H tells Jericho to shut his damn mouth for once. He says he beat Jericho’s ass at Wrestlemania, and Hogan just pinned him last week in the tag match. Hunter goes on to call him an arrogant ass who can’t back up any claim he’s ever made, and if he wants to call himself the “King of Smackdown” then he’s going to have to go through him first. The crowd pops as Jericho goes to respond, but they are cut off by theme of Hulk Hogan!
Yet, on this night, something is different about Hogan. The screen doesn’t turn black and white, instead red and yellow lights flash across the arena. Jericho and Triple H are confused, but eventually, Hogan comes out on the stage in red and yellow! The crowd goes insane as Jericho and Hunter are shocked in the ring; Hulkamania is running wild on Smackdown! Hogan highs fives the fans as he makes his way out, playing to the crowd in his new old colors. Hogan climbs in the ring and takes a microphone. Hogan says after last week, he’s realized Hollywood Hogan could NEVER win the WWF Undisputed Championship. Jericho laughs, but he also tells Jericho he won’t be walking out with the Undisputed Championship, and he tells Triple H he won’t either! Instead, Hulkamania will be running wild at Backlash! The crowd pops as Hogan smiles and nods. He turns back to his opponents and says he’s got one question for them. Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on YOU!? The crowd pops again as Jericho says “I’ll show you” and hits Hogan with the microphone! Hulk falls down, but Triple H turns Jericho around and they start throwing fists! The crowd explodes as they go back and forth, Jericho knocking Triple H out of the ring with a clothesline! Jericho smiles and taunts, but Hogan is back up! The crowd cheers as Chris turns around and Hogan points his finger. Hulk hits shot after shot before throwing Jericho out of the ring as well! Hogan rips his shirt off and taunts to the crowd, but the celebration is cut off by the Big Show’s music. Our opening contest is up next!
Break Hulk Hogan def. the Big Show VIA DQ) As we came back Hogan was trying to build momentum against the giant, but Big Show over power Hogan and threw him to the ground. In the end, Hogan was looking to finish Show off with a leg drop, but Chris Jericho ran back out and hit Hogan with a low blow!
The crowd boos as Hogan fell to his knees. The crowd was booing as Jericho stood over him, smirking. He then started to hit strike after strike. The ref tried to get involved, but Jericho pushes him away. Chris then sent up for the Breakdown, but an irate Big Show came charging at him! He realized this and bailed, Big Show getting a mixed reaction for a split second; as he turned around and dropped Hogan with a chokeslam! The crowd booed as Jericho watched from the ramp, smiling.
Backstage, Marc Llyod is standing by with Test. Mark asks Test about his huge match coming up tonight, against the WWF Undisputed Champion, Triple H. Test has a confident smile and talks about how he actually defeated Triple H in his debut three years ago. Test says last week his beat Edge, and tonight he will beat Triple H. He talks about the brand split being the perfect opportunity for him to stand out and rise to the top. The first step was Edge last week, and the second step is Triple H tonight. Test laughs and says he’s putting the rest of the Smackdown! locker room on notice. They shouldn’t fear the Undertaker, the Big Show, Stone Cold, or Triple H. They only person they should concern themselves about is him, because this is a Test they will not pass. He chuckles again before walking off the set.
The Undertaker arrives to the arena, what does Mr. McMahon have in store for him tonight?
Break
The Undertaker is walking through the hallways, looking for McMahon. As he walks, staff members cower away from him in fear. As he’s walking down the hall, he comes across a familiar face. Hulk Hogan! The crowd pops as the tired Hogan doesn’t back down from ‘Taker as they lock eyes. ‘Taker snares and wishes Hogan “luck” as he smirks. Hogan simply responds “yeah, brother.” Undertaker walks away with Hogan never taking his eyes off of him. The segment fades out with Hogan watching ‘Taker walking down the hall.
A replay is shown from Jakked two weeks ago where Albert turned on Scotty 2 Hotty.
Albert w/the Bossman def. Scotty 2 Hotty) The crowd rooted for the underdog in Scotty 2 Hotty here, but it was no use as Alberto soon finished him off with the Baldo Bomb.
After the match the crowd boos as Albert places a foot over Scotty. Bossman comes in and raises his hand, the former alliance officially reunited.
Backstage Mr. McMahon is in his office talking with Tommy Dreamer when Kurt Angle barges in. McMahon sighs and asks Kurt what he wants. Kurt looks surprised and says he’s his favorite superstar! Smackdown’s! number one star! What he needs is extra protection from that maniac Edge. Angle says he has match tonight with Hurricane, but he’s scared to go out there with Edge lurking behind every corner! Before Vince can up with a response, the Undertaker bursts into the room. Everyone is taken back as ‘Taker asks what McMahon wants. Vince tells him he’s not going to stand by and let him attack all of his superstars. He says this isn’t RAW, and he will actually keep order on his show. Vince says if he wants to fight so badly, he can have a no disqualification match up next….. against Tommy Dreamer! Dreamer is surprised and Taker nods his head before leaving the room. Angle assures Vince it was a fantastic idea and McMahon sighs, Dreamer leaving the room.
Break
An advertisement for Backlash is played; it is live on pay per view, April twenty first!
No-Disqualifications; the Undertaker def. Tommy Dreamer) Dreamer came out of the gun firing with a kendo stick. In the end, all of the weapons Dreamer used had no effect. The Undertaker finished the match off with a huge Last Ride through a table.
Following the match Undertaker is declared the victor as the referee checks on Tommy Dreamer. ‘Takers looked around for a moment before grabbing the referee and throwing him out of the ring. Dreamer is in a daze as Undertaker picks up him up, and drops him with a huge chokeslam! Dreamer rolls out of the ring in pain, but the American Badass follows him. He grabs another steel chair as Tommy uses the announcers table to get up, just to turn around and get hit in the head with the chair! He falls back onto the announcers table, bleeding. ‘Taker leans over and begins to hit Dreamer with rights over and over. Tommy flops off the table, but Undertaker doesn’t let up. He grabs him and tosses him like a dart into the ring post! Staff members finally rush out again, but ‘Taker scares them off. He grabs Dreamer and kicks off the top half of the steel steps. He places Dreamer’s right hand on the steps before climbing up, and stepping on it! Tommy screams in pain as Undertaker does it again! To make sure he’s out, ‘Taker grabs him by the head and throws it against the steps. The staff gets closer, but Undertaker takes out two of them with punches and a third by throwing him into the barricade! He goes back over to Dreamer, whose hand is still on the step. Undertaker grabs the top one, and throws it down on his hand! He yells out in pain again and ‘Taker finally leaves the scene, having destroyed Tommy Dreamer.
Up next WWF Undisputed Champion Triple H battles Test.
Break
Smackdown! returns to footage from the commercial break where the staff members escorted Tommy Dreamer to back after being bloodied by the Undertaker. Dreamer was clutching his wrist throughout the entire clip. We go live to Michael Cole and Tazz, where Cole tells us we will get an update on Dreamer’s condition as soon as possible. The theme song of Test hits to some boos as he makes his way out for the non-title bout.
Non-Title; WWF Undisputed Champion Triple H def. Test) Test had a very impressive showing against “the Game” here tonight, almost taking him down with a big boot. Eventually, Triple H picked up the win with a pedigree.
Following the match, Triple H celebrated on the top rope with his two titles. Eventually, he grabs a microphone and says he’s going to keep this short and sweet. He will be at ringside for Chris Jericho versus Stone Cold Steve Austin later on tonight. Secondly, he wants the Undertaker to know one thing. He’s not the one booking the matches around here, but if he wants a shot at him, instead of bullying the guys in back, he can come out here like a man. Triple H reminds ‘Taker his yard is in his world. Hunter drops the microphone to loud cheers before we head backstage.
Marc Llyod is standing backstage with European Champion William Regal. He asks about his match with Dallas Page next Sunday at Backlash. Regal says he knows one thing for certain, and that is he won’t let some American hold the European Championship. He says it’s a disgrace to Europe having Americans like Diamond Dallas Page represent the continent. Regal vows to make sure Diamond Dallas Page, or any other American for that matter, never holds the European Championship again. Regal looks at the title on his shoulder and snares at Llyod and walking off the set. Diamond Dallas Page and Faarooq take on William Regal and Christian, next!
Break
A Smackdown! replay from last month is shown, featuring William Regal beating Dallas Page for the European Championship.
Diamond Dallas Page & Faarooq def. William Regal & Christian) It seemed like Page and Regal would start out the match, but Christian attacked Page from behind before the bell officially rung. Despite the attack, Page and Faarooq were still able to fight back. As Faarooq took care of Regal, Page finished Christian off with the diamond cutter.
After the bell, Page and Faarooq celebrate their victory in the ring. Page throws up his Diamond taunt as Regal is irate on the outside. He snatches his European championship and storms off, Page motioning he will be the champion come next Sunday!
Backstage Kurt Angle can be seen walking down a corridor, worried. He looks over his shoulder as Marc Llyod approaches him. Angle rudely asks what he wants and Marc says he just wanted his thoughts on his match with Hurricane up next. Angle puffs and responds by asking him how can he think about his match when Edge is stalking him? Kurt says he is an Olympic gold medalist, and he deserves better treatment! He says he’s just going to have to beat Hurricane quickly and protect himself! Suddenly, a box falls behind him and Angle jumps. He turns around and realizes it’s just a box and relaxes. He says he’s going to snap Hurricane’s ankle up next, oh it’s true, it’s true!
Break
Mr. McMahon is in his office as Stone Cold Steve Austin walks in the room. Vince looks surprised, but Austin keeps a strict face on. McMahon says he’s been expecting Austin, and he’s glad he came in, because he has something to say. Austin responds with WHAT, but Vince ignores him. He says he might be able to show up on RAW and attack superstars, but that won’t happen on Smackdown! McMahon says he has enough problems with the Undertaker already, and Stone Cold won’t be a thorn in his side too. Vince tells him he’s a wrestler, one that is good for business, but having two men running around taking out everyone is not acceptable! Austin laughs and says if he can’t do anything about the Undertaker, then try stopping Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin continues, saying he’s going to whoop his boy Jericho tonight, and after that, he’s going to raise some more hell. He leaves the room, leaving McMahon angered.
The Hurricane def. Kurt Angle VIA Count-Out) Angle wasn’t really taken Hurricane seriously, but he was nervous, because Edge was watching from the stage! Eventually, Angle was setting up for the Angle Slam, but Edge ran into the ring! Angle scrammed, backing up the ramp. Edge chased him around the ringside area, the ref eventually throwing it out!
Angle couldn’t believe his ears as Hurricane was proclaimed the winner! Crash Holly ran out to help Hurricane and celebrate, Kurt Angle irate! He kicked and screamed at the referee. He grabbed Hurricane by the leg, but Crash Holly hit him with the baseball slide! Kurt staggered backwards, allowing Edge to spear him on the floor! The crowd went nuts as Angle had forgotten about Edge. Edge stood over Angle, smiling, as Hurricane and Holly celebrated the victory in the ring.
A graphic promotes our main event taking place up next, Chris Jericho battles Stone Cold Steve Austin!
Break
Chris Jericho def. Stone Cold Steve Austin) The crowd was hot for this one, and to make things tenser, Triple H was in fact at ringside! These two men battled back and forth until Austin accidently hit the ref with a clothesline while aiming for Jericho! Austin hit the stunner, but with no ref, it was useless. As Austin tried to wake the ref, the Undertaker ran out with a chair, cracking Austin in the skull! The crowd booed as Austin fell, ‘Taker leaving the ring. Jericho crawled for the cover as the ref woke up, counting the three!
The crowd boos as ‘Taker backs up the ramp, smirking. Triple H stood up from the announcers table as Jericho staggered to his feet, smiling. ‘Taker went backstage as Hunter went in the ring to confront Jericho. The two share words, and the theme of Hulk Hogan hits! The crowd goes wild as Hogan limps out to the stage. He points to the two men, but eventually Jericho backs up as Hunter doesn’t take his eyes off of Hogan. Jericho grabs the chair and turns “the Game” around, swinging! He moves just in time, and he kicks Jericho in the gut! He goes for the pedigree, but Chris slips out and bails from the ring. “The King of Smackdown!” stands on the ramp, between Hogan and Hunter, the champion calling him back into the ring! Smackdown! goes off the air as we see Austin is back up, and he goes after Jericho! Chris runs again, this time through the crowd!
