I want to buy an elite Wade Barrett figure, but Amazon and Ebay is only turning up ones from America with insanely high shipping prices.
I managed to find one on TRU.co.uk for about £20 with P+P but its out of stock.
Why is he so hard to find?

Because he is from the UK lol That's why. He is like there big star over there in the ring and he is a great talent for the company. Plus, that was Barrett's only elite figure ever made so far.

The limited availability is not just with one particular Elite here in the UK. Unless you're after an Orton, Cena or Mysterio you pretty much have to hope you'll find everyone else within a week or two of release because you'll never see them again.

Yeah, it's not specific to Barrett. Most elites are hard to find in the UK after the first few days. The Barrett came out in late September, and probably hasn't been in any shops since mid-October. The only elites Toys R Us.co.uk have in stock are Cena and Orton.

I got Wade in october or november i think by waiting for a good price on amazon.co.uk i think it was £18 plus £2.99 postage back then but yeah, hes definately gone up in price to get over here.
I'm just waiting on a Drew McIntyre to be delivered now to complete my local collection. That is unless they make a Mason Ryan Elite at some point.
In fact Drew is definately the hardest of the u.k. elites to find at a decent price. None of the normal sites i buy from have him. I had to get him from a trusted seller on ebay and it cost me more than i would usually spend. I'm pretty sure its only down to the intercontinental title being included as i see more of him unboxed on ebay than most other figures.

You think finding Barrett in UK is hard? Imagine trying to find elite 15 Sin Cara in mexico/texas when he comes out.

haha you are right there. Im extremely concerned that due to the timing of his release and my familys upcoming birthdays i might not be able to pre order which could be bad if its as popular as i imagine it will be.
do shops around the world actually stock up on their own countrymen more than others? If not then maybe they should look into it. I cant believe how hard it is to find uk wrestlers here.
Infact its just plain rediculous how hard it is to get elites here. Everytime a local shop gets any in (once in a blue moon) they are gone instantly so it cant be down to them not turning a profit. If i opened a shop here selling only elites at RRP i seriously think it would survive even in the current financial climate.

If not then maybe they should look into it. I cant believe how hard it is to find uk wrestlers here. It's no harder to find UK wrestlers than it is to find US wrestlers. Barrett is actually the easiest to find from elite 11 besides Cena and Mysterio. You're confused thinking that he's hard to find because he's from the UK. Really he's hard to find because the series came out over four months ago, and UK shops rarely get more than a couple of deliveries of each elite series. It's lucky to even find elite 13 anymore in the UK. Elite 12 is long gone. Anything older than that, no chance. Drew McIntyre is hard to find because he came out a year ago. The situation for elite Drews on UK Ebay is the same as the situation for elite Evan Bournes -- pretty much none, other than a few US sellers who ship internationally. Ultimately, if your goal is to collect elites, your best bet is to get them as soon as they hit retail. Otherwise, you're probably going to have to pay over the odds for them. There are exceptions though (some Cenas, some Ortons, shelfwarmerrific nobodies like Luke Gallows). |
