Alright, I could get behind this. However, I dislike quite a few things about this card for WrestleMania XXVIII.
- I don't think the WWE would unify the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship right now, maybe next year, but only announcing to unify them within a two month span? Hate that. It'd be given quite a lot of hype, and even if the case, should feature only the two champions and nobody other. Sorry Chris Jericho.
- The Rock and John Cena should get the main event slot hopefully. It is the biggest match in WWE history, and it's being promoted that way. Hopefully we get a better write up out of it too, I did laugh at your "preview" for that match though admittedly.
- DX and the Brothers of Destruction. No way José ever to Hell. Shawn Michaels is retired and should stay that way without pulling a Ric Flair #3/Mick Foley #514. Secondly, Kane and the Undertaker were feuding last time they were on screen together. Additionally, a tag team match for the Undertaker to claim 20-0 at WrestleMania I despise. 'Taker should only be focusing on singles matches at this stage. I like tag team matches, but people pay more attention to the money making singles bouts.
- I'm happy as hell that Dolph Ziggler has been put in a great position this year at WrestleMania XXVIII. If he goes over, that's great, Mick Foley built Edge's career up that way. But I don't think Ziggler and Foley would have great chemistry in a Hardcore match, generally. I wish someone had taken Ziggler's place, and Ziggler put in an alternative match. I am happy with this though. Randy Orton and Mark Henry seemed to have just been put onto the card for the sake of not wanting to leave either man off of the card. I don't have a problem with that, but we've seen this several times before in the last year, and I expect this to be a filler between the more important matches on this increasingly stacked card.
- Christian against Rey Mysterio sounds awesome, I don't think it's been done before either. I just hate the fact that this is all about who had the better return, when really it should be about something bigger, perhaps Rey costing Christian a World Heavyweight Championship match, or visa versa. It does look good on paper however.
- Money in the Bank returning to its rightful place at WrestleMania XXVIII is fantastic. What isn't fantastic is the fact that five of these guys were in the RAW Money in the Bank Ladder match last year. Meanwhile Hunico seems to have just appeared out of nowhere. I think The Miz and R-Truth should have been given their own match to end their feud once and for all, or something else. Also because Miz has already won the title through the briefcase before, as has Swagger. It leads me to root for R-Truth or maybe even Kofi Kingston (as he's been in so many of these matches).
- Sheamus and Wade Barrett sounds acceptable, but it's not something I'd be thrilled to see. It's been done now, additionally, I feel like Sheamus as a top star of SmackDown is grounded in this feud with Barrett. Something bigger would have been better for him. Barrett's moment could come next year.
- I understand why Cody Rhodes and Goldust are exchanging blows at WrestleMania XXVIII, I just don't feel that Goldust has deserved this. He's been nothing but a comedy character for so long, and as much as I actually like watching the guy, he bores me to no end. Cody Rhodes meanwhile deserves something much better. I wouldn't mind this feud with this match on any other pay-per-view, but after Cody beat Rey Mysterio last year, I feel like facing Goldust the next year is a fatal drop down the card. The only plus side is that the WWE Intercontinental Championship is actually on the line at WrestleMania.
- Beth Phoenix and Natalya...eh. I suppose it'll be nice to see, but realistically a Divas tag team match or even Beth Phoenix defending the WWE Divas Championship against someone like Kelly Kelly or someone with sex appeal and surrounded by publicity should have been involved. Take all of the Playboy covergirl Divas for example; Ashley and Maria both got WrestleMania moments for the fact they posed nude in that magazine. It could be good, but will ruin the two Divas as their match is fatally slashed for time.
- Brodus Clay and Zack Ryder...I get why they're teamed, but I hate the idea. Realistically I see this match being thrown onto the Pre-Show, to be interrupted by other superstars not used on the card, prompting a battle royal for the DVD release of the show. Primo and Epico certainly aren't ready for this stage themselves. And it's like, realistically Ryder and Clay would kill these guys and it would just kill air time for the pay-per-view.
- Overall, I appreciate all of the backstories, but these are my faults to your card. Additionally you'll have four hours to slot in A LOT of things, as well as the eleven matches. It resembles the modern variation of WrestleMania V or VI. But nonetheless, I'll see what comes of it, and hopefully it's a home run of a diary.
