Hello folks.
I'm a fan of the UFC since round about 12 years now.
I am more and more losing my interest in nowadays MMA. I think it's not that exciting anymore because it became somekind of cut back, if you know what i mean.
Rules are absolutely ok to secure the fighters health. But they've got way too much rules now. The fighters become too equal. I loved to see a fight between two different styles of combat sports. Judo vs Kickboxing, Karate vs Taekwondo.
Today everybody tries to know and use anything.
Well, MMA has become its own style and it's not that raw anymore.
You are not allowed to kick to the face if an opponent has his hands on the ground. And i hate when fighters touch the ground while they're still standing on their feet. That simply makes no sense to me. As soon as the fingers are not touching the ground anymore (no matter if its 4mm or 40sm) you are allowed to kick them in the face. But the damage would be the same.
Footstomps are not allowed anymore. Now that makes sense to me because the head has no space to move away from the impact if you're lying on the ground.
Damn.
It's hard for me to grump in english because it's not my first language.
But i think you know what i mean.
For me MMA was castrated to make it more mediafriendly.
I don't want to see stupid thugs inside the octagon. But what i don't want to see are chessplayers, too.
From championship to championship i'm having more problems to keep my eyes focused on the tv. 7 or 8 from 10 fights bore my pants off.
I can't imagine that the UFC will stay on their winning streak.
And like many fighters say: i want the Pride FC back.
It really was much more entertaining than the UFC is today.
