I put a spioiler tag. Probably shouldn't be floating around message board/threads after an episode if you don't want it spoiled though. We are here to talk about the show, and I have been doing it after every episode sooo....... While I agree with you, there is always that one person that ends up doing it. Well then if they want to risk coming into a thread with people clearly discussing the plot, they assumed the risk. I'd like to discuss the show while its fresh, not a week after it airs. The amount of crapty decisions every character has made has boggled my mind so damn much I agree. What is Dale doing just wandering around at night while alone, during the zombie apocalypse. I didn't think he could do anything dumber than trying to hide guns from the camp (which didn't make sense either). Then he goes and ............. Carl too, what is he doing walking around. Christ, the kid just lost a glock and 16 rounds of ammo. The smartest people on the show are the ones that do nothing. They never get into needless trouble

Damn that was sad. Although Rick not being able to pull the trigger at the end on Dale seemed odd since he seemed to have no problem shooting Sophia, granted she wasn't a living human being, I still didn't get it.

He was one of my favourite characters on the show so I'm a kind of sad he got killed. I've only read up to book 2 so I'm not sure how much longer he lasted in the series. He was the moralist that the group needed. I'm hoping that maybe Andrea will take on that role now.
I think I've made my mind up when it comes to Randall after this episode. The guy fully tried to trick Carl into letting him go, while promising him with the hope of bringing him, Rick, and Laurie to his group. That right there tells you that he has every intention of going back to that group. Either that or he was saying anything to try and get Carl to help him out. Either way, he came off as creepy and insincere.

Dang, Rick just needs to be able to do it. I just watched the scene where he was unable to pull the trigger.
Not gonna lie that scene with Dale was messed up!
Still finishing the episode, its really good. I am so sick of Carl!
I'm super stoked for hopefully the family situation plays out like it did in the comics.
Although I have a feeling Rick would be totally screwed up afterwards, I mean who wouldn't, but I'm going to love to see his characters reaction and just how he carries himself after all of that.

Watching the new episode now. Twitter already ruined the ending for me anyway. I was on wikipedia and I found out that the guy who plays Shane is married to Kurt Angle's niece. I didn't know that. lol. Pretty cool.

Is anyone else reminded of young Jake Gyllenhaal when seeing Randall act? He looks and sounds so similar to him IMO
Spoilers for people who haven't seen the last episode............
Apparently the actor playing Dale asked to leave after Darabont was fired as director.

Dale was the voice of reason / civility. With him dying, the end of civilization comes, right?

Dale was the voice of reason / civility. With him dying, the end of civilization comes, right? I think they wrote the entire episode, and even Dale's death, as a way to remind Rick as to why it's important to keep a system of morality alive. So I think you see Rick and specifically Andrea, who was largely beginning to fall in line with Shane, sort of come back to the side of asking why the right questions in tumultuous situations. I think killing the kid is the right thing to do personally, but I also think Rick needed to be reminded that it's hardly black and white, which is what Dale did for him, and the group. Rick will stand to be the voice of reason against Shane moving forward. They are drawing a line in the sand between them at every given opportunity. Dale's death will only intensify Rick's moral high ground imo.

After sleeping on it,
Dale needed to die. I think when Dale said "survival of the fittest" it was foreshadowing his death. Those who are still alive almost NEED to have a ruthless, cutthroat attitude and Dale didn't have that outlook. I believe that's what they were trying to show with Dale's death. He was the last of the "old world" mentality.
In other news,
Please kill T-Dawg. Totally forgot he was on the show until last nights episode.

At this point, I'd be happy if he walked out into traffic and a zombie bus driver ran him over.

It's gonna be legendary... Its really too bad, I'd wish they'd give some background characters some backstory. Every once in a while you'll see some dude on the farm and be like, oh yeah I forgot about him. T-Dog looks like he knows how to use a weapon, always thought he was going to be military, maybe explain to us how they let zombies beat them.

Spoilers from last night. (Even though it's already been spoiled.)
I was hoping Daryl was going to get to Dale quick enough. It looked like the walker hadn't gotten to Dale yet, so I'm disappointed Daryl was about a second too late.
As long as Andrea doesn't become all suicidal again, and Rick's morale raises, I think I can get over Dale's death.
