Just recently I noticed he was on the poster to the PPV. Was he originally scheduled to return at the event? Before it was pushed back with a gimmick change

He was origionally suppose to debut as the "Biker" Taker at the Royal Rumble, but I believe he injured his arm before the event and his return was pushed back. I forgot if he broke his arm or tore a muscle but it was an injury that kept him out longer.

Could you imagine if that would have happened. You would have had a fantastic street fight,crazy table match, a very good Rumble with the Taka clip played a million times and then the ABA Taker!

I did miss the undertaker but wasnt he also on the original armageddon 99 poster too?? I really wanted him to come back at mania 2000 but nope ..  EDIT HERE IS THE POSTER  |

yeah,he left in early September 1999 to get an injury taken care of, then was set ot return at the RR 2000, but somehow injured his arm during his time off. the new injury required surgery,so that pushed back his reappearance til May ( and he didn't actually wrestle a match again til June 2000)....

Was it ever rumoured what his role at Wrestlemania 2000 was going to be? That is a great question. I would love to know as well. I know the main was the 4 way McMahon feud but I wondered if that was because Taker was out. |

Had Taker been around for mania 2000 he would have either been thrown into the fatal four way in either Foley or Big Show's spot or he'd have faced Big Show one on one. The origional plan was for HHH vs Rock for the main event(should have happened), but Vince felt it was too predictable. The reason why I think he might have faced Big Show is because he had been partnering w/ Big Show throughout the summer of 1999, but there was always tension between their characters, and I think they would have eventually split and have faced eachother.

Yea, I think original ideas were to have Taker/Show, and Trips/Rock. The whole team of Show/Taker was about how Taker would eventually stab Show in the back, this was to happen and lead to a match at WM. |
