Interesting card, not a big fan of Orton/Kane and I'd rather Beth Phoenix/Kharma. Regardless, really looking forward to this and hope you stick with it.

'LAURINAITIS VS. LONG'; SIX MAN TAG
Alberto Del Rio, Christian, & John Laurinaitis vs. Big Show, Booker T, & Theodore Long
- In a match that goes beyond wrestling, Team Long emerged victorious after a decent showing from all four actual competitors. There was a moment were Long & Laurinaitis were in the ring together but it didn’t last too long as Johnny Ace decided to tag in Christian quickly. Laurinaitis refused to put his money where his mouth was and that may have cost him. Big Show ended the match and secured the win after a huge chokeslam on Alberto Del Rio.
- Afterward, Long raised his partner’s hands and celebrated rightfully so. It seems that the tides have shifted in the WWE management front and who knows what will come from this exchange.
'VIPER VS. MONSTER'
Randy Orton vs. Kane
- A match that seemed rushed and without much flow, these two powerhouses squared off and beat the hell out of each other. Orton’s game was to try and slow the monster down with his usual tactics but it was no use as Kane kept battling back. These two have been at each other’s throats for the past few weeks and it seems like things won’t be coming to a close here. The two warriors were battling on the outside and ended up ignoring the referee’s 10 count and got themselves counted out!
- Afterward, the battling continued and eventually made their way up to the ramp area. Orton went to hit an RKO on the hard cement ground, but Kane dodged that bullet and nailed a big chokeslam that really knocked Orton out! Kane let out a roar and stormed to the back laughing about what he just did to Orton.
'ROYAL CASH-IN'; WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus
- It was time for the Royal Rumble winner to cash in his opportunity at Wrestlemania history as Sheamus and Bryan squared off in the center of the ring. The crowd was all Sheamus and Bryan didn’t appreciate that. An effective technical match that was better that originally expected. Sheamus had early control and really laid some stiff shots into Daniel Bryan, but things changed as Bryan must have hit a second wind and got going again. In a match where there was supposed to be a good and bad guy, this match was nothing like that. These two won the crowd over with just plain old good wrestling and by the end; you couldn’t tell who the crowd wanted. Eventually, Sheamus went for a nasty Brogue Kick in the corner to end it all but Bryan caught his leg, took him down to the mat and locked in the Lebell Lock in the center of the ring. Sheamus had no choice but to submit and Bryan was called the winner and rightfully so.
- Afterward, Bryan struggled to get to his feet but celebrated with his World Heavyweight Championship and girlfriend AJ. The crowd applauded him as he posed with the Championship and once Sheamus got to his feet, the two competitors shook hands on what was a great straight-up wrestling match.
'THE RETURN'; MONEY IN THE BANK
Cody Rhodes vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth vs. Wade Barrett vs. The Miz vs. Santino Marella
- Wow, what a return it actually was. These eight men put their bodies on the line for a chance at the greatest prize of them all and many of them definitely will feel this in the morning. There were some big moments in the match that included Kofi Kingston jumping from a tall ladder and drop-kicking Jack Swagger off the top of another, a modified Skull Crushing Finale off the top of a ladder on Santino Marella and the craziest moment of all; Wade Barrett nailed a devastating Wasteland from the top of a tall ladder on R-Truth. Truth was tossed from the top and landed right on top of Cody Rhodes, who was lying on top of a ladder. It was all but done there as Barrett just had to reach for the briefcase and secure himself in Wrestlemania history.
- Afterward, Barrett slowly came down from the ladder and celebrated his win rightfully so. The crowd gave all men a standing ovation and many officials came down to check on Rhodes and Truth who were motionless in the middle of the ring. There were bodies sprawled everywhere and that is to be expected with a match like this. Only on the grandest stage of them all!
'20-0?'; HELL IN A CELL
Triple H vs. The Undertaker
- It was time for another barnburner of a match and this one has more than anything on the line. Triple H is looking to end the legendary streak of the ‘Phenom’ and it will take a Hell in the Cell to do it. The match started slow and had a big build up to some nice spots. Undertaker, who hasn’t wrestled since last year, seemed in pretty good shape and was able to keep up nicely with Triple H. Of course, both of these guys aren’t in their prime anymore, but they could certainly still go. Triple H was the first to be busted open after Undertaker threw him into the steel pole of the cell after a little fighting on the outside. Eventually, Undertaker really took things up a level and wanted out of the cell. The referee wasn’t allowing anyone in or out and Taker didn’t like that. Taker knocked him on his ass and busted through the door with his shoulder. Pure power got these men to the outside and eventually, on top of the cell. Always a scary moment, but thankfully no one went off the cell. The biggest spot of the match came after Triple H drove both himself and Undertaker through the cell with a gigantic pedigree. After a long wait and a huge ‘holy shit’ chant from the crowd, the referee went to call the match. Triple H didn’t approve of this and demanded that the match go on. After some arguing, the referee allowed the match to go on and Triple H only got a close two on Taker following a pinfall. The Game didn’t know what to do after that, but still rolled to outside of the ring and grabbed his best friend, the sledgehammer. Taker finally got to his feet and dodged the shot from the sledgehammer and delivered a huge chokeslam. Taker was feeling it after that. He connected with the Old School and signaled for the end. Undertaker hoisted Triple H over his shoulder and nailed a tombstone, but Triple H didn’t go down after that. Undertaker then went for another tombstone, but Triple H battled out of it and hit a rising knee. Triple H attempted another pedigree, but Taker reversed him over his head and nailed another tombstone to seal the deal! The Undertaker’s streak lives on after one of the hardest matches of his career.
- Afterward, you could tell both men were just out of it and laid half-dead in the ring. Both men were not moving and the referee had to call for help. As other officials came running down, the lights in the stadium went down. Since it was dark, it was completely pitch black for almost two minutes. Once everything was restored, Triple H remained lying in the ring as only smoke remained where the Undertaker was. The Undertaker was nowhere to be found and Triple H had to be helped out by a few officials!
'BEST IN THE WORLD'; WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho
- The fans were treated to yet another wrestling showcase with this one, as two of the greatest wrestlers went at it to find out who is the best in the world. The crowd was all Punk in this one and Punk started off hot. A series of exchanges got the crowd really going and the pace of the match was fast, but eventually slowed down to a technical bout. This match was interesting because it took form of many matches inside of it. It started off more like a brawl, then transformed into almost like a cruiserweight match with the amount of fast paced action, then it went all technical and drawn out. By the end of the match, both men seemed to be drained and went back to an all or nothing brawl. Jericho somehow got Punk locked in the Walls of Jericho but Punk battled his way to the corner and got the ropes. The match was approaching the 30 minute mark and the crowd seemed more worn that the competitors. These guys had such good stamina and definitely earned one of the best matches in quite some time. Although, it had to end and it ended in a big way. Jericho hit a bulldog and went for the Lionsault but Punk got his knees up and kicked-up fast. Jericho was kneeling over long enough for Punk to scoop him up and nail the GTS to score the pinfall after one helluva match.
- Afterward, Punk got up on his knees and celebrated with the WWE Championship. The crowd once again gave the two men a standing ovation and Punk rolled out of the ring to celebrate with his fans. Jericho walked up the ramp holding his neck, head down. Is this the last of Chris Jericho? Punk had the crowd start a ‘Best in the World’ chant as he exited the arena.
'6 PACK CHALLENGE'; DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Natalya vs. Alicia Fox
- Beth retains after pinning Fox following a Glam Slam. Pretty iffy match for Wrestlemania standards but it is to be expected with a women’s match as there isn’t much talent in the ring. Phoenix dominated the entire match, but had a good exchange with her former ‘Diva of Doom’ partner Natayla that the crowd enjoyed. In the end, Beth had taken everyone out and then scored the pinfall to watch out of the match victorious.
- Afterward, Beth over-celebrated and the crowd booed her out of the building.
'ICON VS. ICON'
The Rock vs. John Cena
- All that was left for the night was possibly the biggest match of the young century. The Rock and John Cena tangle up for the first time ever and we will finally find out which icon is best! The crowd was 60/40 in favor of the Rock and it was expected to be more for Rock, but Cena has a decent following here. It took almost 5 minutes after the two were in the ring to finally get going, but once they did, they never looked back. Cena had the early upperhand and really outworked the Rock. Did the Rock have ring rust? Certainly not, as he came back as hot as ever and really got the crowd going. After some awesome showcases tonight, the crowd was nearly worn out but had enough left for one more. Rock started to brawl and stomp with Cena, which is where the two men are even. These two went back and forth; trading blow for blow and neither man was giving up. Cena gained the control back and went for the 5 knuckle shuffle, but the Rock moved out of the way and dumped Cena to the outside. In some classic Rock fashion, he nailed a scoop slam on the outside and then got on commentary with Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler! The Rock told the fans at home that he thought the 5 knuckle shuffle was the poor man’s People’s Elbow and he was going to show Cena why he was a ‘rootie poo candy ass’. The Rock then went for a clothesline but Cena ducked and nailed a spear of sorts. Cena was now wailing on the Rock and seemed to have an interesting though. Cena nailed a spinout powerbomb on the outside and signaled for the FU! After rolling back inside to break the ten count, Cena tossed the Rock on the announce table and went for an FU! The Rock battled out of it and quickly nailed a Rock Bottom through the announce table! The crowd was absolutely stunned and it seemed like both men were just dead. Somehow, some way, the Rock rolled inside and out to break up the ten count of the referee and eventually, both men managed to get their way back inside. The Rock went for the pinfall after a DDT, but it was no use as Cena kicked out. The Rock then attempted a spinebuster and connected…signaling for the People’s Elbow! He threw the elbow pad into the crowd like old times, but missed connecting and Cena locked in the STF! The Rock was so close to tapping out and it all seemed done, but The Rock SOMEHOW mustered the courage and strength to get to the ropes. Cena couldn’t believe it and picked Rock up and attempted the FU again…but Rock escaped once more. Rock then nailed another spinebuster and once again went for the People’s Elbow! Rock threw off the other pad and connected this time, but for only, somehow, a two count! The Rock was in disbelief and went for the Rock Bottom, but Cena escaped with an elbow to the side of the head. The Rock was stumbling and Cena took advantage with a FU! But Cena didn’t go for the cover…he picked the Rock back up and placed him on the top turnbuckle. Cena then nailed the Super-FU and both men went flying across the ring. Cena then built up the strength to place one arm over The Rock and score the three count as the crowd didn’t stop applauding what they just saw.
- Afterward, Cena got to his feet after a few minutes and raised his arms. By now, everyone in the stadium was cheering for both of these guys and they knew it was time for a new era. Cena was celebrating but turned around to the Rock staring him down. But The Rock, as Hulk Hogan did for him ten years ago, extended his hand to Cena for a shake. Cena hesitated but accepted and the two men embraced one of the best matches in Wrestlemania history. Confetti came raining down from a blimp up over head as the Rock raised John Cena’s hand. Rock then bowed out of the ring and left it as it was now Cena’s ring. John Cena celebrated his earned victory with the crowd as Wrestlemania 28 came to a close!

Good to see you starting this, Duan. First off, I never quite understood your inclusion of Booker T in this, hopefully we get some sort of backstory to these matches later on. Also, not sure if Team Long winning was the right move since Laurinaitis is the fresh and quite frankly better General Manager of the two, but I look forward to seeing where you take it, and I hope Laurinaitis has some sort of involvement somewhere and he isn't just written off TV. Randy Orton versus Kane is a match I was never fond of, even in current WWE. I just don't see why Kane would go from such a mission to get John Cena to "embrace the hate" to giving up and moving on. Here, a double countout at WrestleMania is something I don't like, but this is obviously going through into Extreme Rules. Again, something I'm not too fond of with Daniel Bryan retaining the World Heavyweight Championship. I feel like he has run his course as Champion and this was Sheamus' chance to regain his credibility, not to mention break the curse of Rumble winners losing at WrestleMania. Finally, something I like! Wade Barrett winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is great as it's finally his time to take control of the WWE and later be WWE or World Heavyweight Champion. Very happy that The Undertaker retained the Streak and he's now 20-0, definitely the way to go. But I must express my anger at something... that ending is very similar to what I had planned, haha. CM Punk retaining the WWE Championship is definitely the right move, Chris Jericho doesn't need the title and this was Punk's chance to finally solidify his place in the Main Event by defeating the man he has been compared to for so long. Divas bore, but definitely glad that Beth retained. Classic bout between John Cena and The Rock, and giving Cena the win is also a good move, and finally the torch can be passed. I'm hoping The Rock goes away now, at least until SummerSlam. Overall, the second half was better than the first half for me, but still a good show all in all.

WWE WrestleMania XXVIII: Sunday 1st April 2012...Alright, not so sure about the layout, imagine that it's just temporary for the base of this diary though. Big Show winning the six man tag team match match for Theodore Long was the right decision against Alberto Del Rio, Christian and John Laurinaitis. Not sure about it opening the show though, unless you just had these in any order. Additionally not a fan of Long and Laurinaitis being involved in this match physically. Randy Orton and Kane going to a double count out was...experimental I guess. Not a fan though, just gives me bitter reminders of when Paul Orndorff and Don Muraco went to a heartbreaking double count out at WrestleMania 2. I suppose their feud is ongoing. An Inferno match at Extreme Rules would be cool. Daniel Bryan and Sheamus would have been decent I suppose, not a fan of Bryan retaining the World Heavyweight Championship against the Royal Rumble, but nevermind. Wade Barrett in my eyes seemed like the most convincing winner of the Money in the Bank match, your line-up was pretty solid though. Glad that the Undertaker defeated Triple H to make it to 20-0 in the Hell in a Cell brawl. The ladder match and then the Hell in a Cell match does sound a little overkill though. CM Punk retaining the WWE Championship, I'm fine with. I just believe that one title should have changed hands in one of the main events. Here's to hoping Punk and Chris Jericho's feud resumes, Jericho with one more title reign would be great. Beth Phoenix retaining the WWE Divas Championship was fine, just a filler really. And lastly, a great main event with John Cena and the Rock, and the right man won. Rock respecting Cena was a great touch as well. A good WrestleMania overall, maybe a little overkill and different, but now you have the foundations for a nice build following WrestleMania XXVIII.
