GAME Group will apparently cease stocking EA titles after the UK launch of SSX this Friday, March 2nd, which also includes Mass Effect 3, arguably one of the year's biggest releases. Pre-orders of any EA games including Mass Effect 3 will be refunded fully with £5 worth of rewards points, so you can put some money towards buying yourself any other non-EA game.
The move will apply to all GAME and Gamestation stores, and means that games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, FIFA Street and any other EA game following SSX will not be available to purchase from any GAME Group outlets. Eurogamer discovered the news earlier this morning, via a memo issued by GAME today.
"For customers who have pre-ordered the N7 Collector's Edition please re-order your copies through these retailers" states the Mass Effect 3 launch update website. The retailers in question are Zavvi, Amazon, Play and ShopTo, where you can still pre-order the N7 Collector's Edition.
"For further information regarding the Mass Effect 3 Standard Edition with the N7 Warfare Gear in-game weapons pack, please check this page later today," the update continues. "If you have placed a deposit for a pre-order or are uncertain that your existing pre-order will be guaranteed, please contact your local retailer."
"Your local retailer is doing everything possible to make this process as smooth as possible to ensure you get your copy on launch day."

Looks like the end of GAME and Gamestation. Never really liked GAME, shame that Gamestation got bought by them, always preferred going there.

I'm glad that GAME is on it's way out. It's a joke when Toys R Us stocks the Vita titles £5 cheaper than GAME does. I mean £44.99 for Uncharted Golden Abyss is over the top.

Yeh basically the story is;
GAME have asked all suppliers for a bit of ease on the 30 day payment as they are struggling. Ubisoft didn't agree so GAME didnt have any Ubisoft games for its launch, then they finally sorted their problems out. However EA were the only company to say that they must pay within 30 days, as GAME cant afford to do this, they wont be able to stock EA games.
EA wont be too bothered as it makes TRUS, HMV, ZAVVI, ASDA etc stronger.
It shouldnt matter to Mass Effect 3 much but GAME were the only retailer in the UK that had the exclusive pre order bonus for FIFA Street, so it will certainly be interesting

Glad they didn't end it before SSX. Pre-ordered that and intend to use my loyalty points (£6) against it. Though a loyalty card becomes less useful if I can't buy EA games there in future.

both were useless. They never put anything fresh into the company so theyre on there back. Why didnt they organise tournaments in stores and have graphic designers talk to the customer (similar to waterstones having book signings)

They've always had a couple of game booths at the front of the store, usually occupied by a 13 year old playing FIFA, so they could've utilised those more. I suppose they'll remove that now that they won't be selling FIFA anymore.

I wonder whether they'll accept them as trade-ins and sell pre-owned copies of them?

I wonder whether they'll accept them as trade-ins and sell pre-owned copies of them? Yeh I would say they will, but thats whats put them in this position. Since companies have brought in online passes the 2nd hand trade has took a bashing. This is where companies got 80 percent of their revenue from, but customers would rather just buy new now because of paying for codes.

I know it would mean that people may become unemployed, but i say good riddance to GAME. I like Gamestation (Birmingham). GAME seems to be full of people who are always unsure of games coming out.
Street Fighter X Tekken is another title pulled from both stores. I think Capcom have pulled all their future releases from GAME and Gamestation except Residen Evil.
