Didn't see anyone post this yet, so here goes. Dana White confirmed on twitter that Frankie Edgar & Benson Henderson will rematch for the LW title sometime this summer.
Anyone looking foward to the rematch? Loved their first meeting & hope this can be just as good if not better.

Cool, I GUESS. I didn't REALLY think Pettis "deserved" a title shot after his KO of Lauzon, but part of me wanted to see Henderson/Pettis 2, just because I think it'd be cool to see them have fights for both the WEC and UFC titles.
I haven't seen Frankie in awhile, but I did speak to him after coming back to Japan. He just doesn't think a move to 145 would be as good if he wasn't a champion coming off a loss. His ideal scenario is to fight Aldo at 145 (or even 155) on the east coast somewhere. But of course now, he gets to fight Henderson once more. I wish him luck. It's gonna be a tough one again.

well deserved... i still havent watched the fight a 2nd time yet, i still got it cue'd up on my dvr, but i had frankie winning the first time i watched it. and i still think diaz/miller winner should be next in line... i need something more from pettis. i cant get the memory of clay guida laying on him out of my assessment of him.

Pettis doesn't deserve to be anywhere near a title shot right now. Good move on Dana's part.

Didn't really want him to get it, would have rather him moved to 145, Lightweight's already stacked. But I think Dana really wants to see Edgar win. I mean, he did claim Edgar to be the number 2 best p4p fighter, only to have him then lose his next fight lol

I wanted him to move to 145 too - but if he wants a rematch with Bendo, he's certainly entitled to it.
Meanwhile, they could have Pettis fight the winner of Miller/Diaz for the next title shot?

The LW division is one of the more interesting divisions in the UFC, we have a some what controversial decision between Franke Edgar and Benson Henderson and people want to see a rematch, and hell I don't mind I thought there scrap was pretty darn entertaining.
People are screaming for Anthony Pettis to be put in to title contention but I don't see him deserving a shot, but the argument can be made that he was last guy to beat Henderson. At the same time though since coming to the UFC, he got beat by Guida and pulled out a split decision. With those two performances had he of not K.O'd Lauzon I don't think he should of been anywhere near the title.
As I see it the UFC made the right choice with Frankie getting a rematch if he doesn't want to face Aldo. That being said we now have Miller Vs Diaz, perhaps the winner of that should face the winner of Henderson Vs Edgar 2. But if there is to much of a wait for that then perhaps throw Pettis in to the mix to crown a rightful number one contender. Either way I'm liking wherever this goes and I'm also interesting in seeing where Guida stands right now.

I love Henderson, but I felt like Edgar absolutely deserved a rematch if he wanted one. Therefore, I'm glad he got it.

This is getting ridiculous. The LW division has been on hold in a sense for two years. I understand Frankie gave Maynard and BJ Penn a rematch so naturally he should get one but....
what if its another close fight..and Edgar wins. Does that mean Henderson will get a rematch?
is every close fight going to have a rematch?
If you lose....even if it is extremely close..TOUGH SH**. Win a few and work your way up to a rematch.
I don't mind though, because their first fight was great. I just think it sucks for all these fighters waiting for a shot at the title.
