Are these exclusives just too expensive for ppl to really want them? It seems like nobody is buying Macho King, Bald Punk or Andre. Yet these figures are awesome. It doesn't seem anyone cares about the Bret Hart coming out in 2 weeks. Granted there is a couple other Bret Hart figs, and the Defining Moments one is cheaper and better. Be that as it may.....no matter what kinda wrestling forum u go to, there is always some die-hard Bret Hart fans lurking around. U would think the "Flash" Rey fig could pull some wrestling AND comic book fans, yet it seems they can't give that one away. Do they re-stock exclusives @ RSC? Some ppl might be waiting for price drops, or in my case just waiting to get some other figures b4 they spend $$ on another exclusive. I just bought Macho King and i really like it. Had it been a little cheaper I would've been quicker to buy it. Honestly I wouldn't care if they charged $40 for Andre....that figure looks...must own...to me. i plan on getting the SES Punk, but i've been procrastinating. Its like....ok I know I can just goto RSC ne time an buy it. Hopefully it doesn't sell out and disappear off the face of the earth like the Removeable Masked Kane. In the last 2 months, I've seen only one MOC on eBay. And it was like $80 alright i was just thinking how no-one is talking about the RSC bret hart....now im just rambling

they are expensive but ppl are buying them. Look at RS Kane that thing is sold out. My prob is the last few exclusives are really just repaints with new accessories. Would love to have an exclusive with completely new look.

I was lucky enough to get SES Punk in their loose exclusive sale, I bought Macho King no prob but I can't pull the trigger on getting the new Bret Hart. It is becoming an expensive hobby.

I've bought everyone of the RSC & Matty exclusive figures so far (Including Rey because he was dressed like the Flash) And I have 2 Hitman figures on order. I can't wait for those to arrive (hoping it's before my birthday on the 22)
I think with Matty and (Andre/Rockers) nobody other than the Mattel collectors know about it. (I seriously doubt any non-collectors know there's even a Matty site) Mattel really needs to promote Matty on their packages somewhere so the general public knows about it.
And I'd bet the same can be said for the RSC. If you aren't an active collector who comes to this site or buys a toy magazine does the general consumer know of them? But I'm sure RSC sells plenty of the exclusives...or why else would they (RSC) keep doing them?

u know if u actually think about it....they ARE pretty much repaints. At least the Punk has a New head that is most likely never going to be used again. yet ppl complain about the price of the exclusive Legends line being too expensive. Really they are $28 shipped. It cost me $30 shipped for Macho. so basically Andre is cheaper than the exclusives on this site.
I'm still confused about Bret Hart. Cuz most likely they're going to charge the $27.99 they always do. When on the same site they just put Defining Moments Bret Hart on sale (for a steal). Which has a better jacket AND a classic WWF Championship

This is just a theory, and certainly doesn't apply to me since I plan on picking up the SES Punk ASAP now that I'm collecting again. That said, I think it have something to do with the obscurity of some of the choices. I know they're exclusive figures, and by default the attire is supposed to be collector-minded, but still. For example, the SES Punk is a great figure, but that gimmick has been almost totally-forgotten in the post-worked/shoot promo/BITW era of his character, plus the bald and bearded look is so different from his current one (I'd argue even more so than the long-haired sculpt.) I think because of this, you lose any potential casual buyers who don't associate that look with Punk, and a lot of collectors who'd rather wait for the slick-back BITW look. The Flash Rey (While quite cool to this die hard DC Comics fan) has a similar issue IMO. The attire is great, but it's very out of date to how Mysterio is presented now, and I'm sure the glut of Mysterios on the market doesn't help. The Bret is a tad more confusing to me. The early-90's era of the Hitman has been neglected by both Mattel and Jakks in relation to other periods of his career, and I personally think the figure looks great. I know just from lurking that the rubber jacket rubs people the wrong way, but I like it (ducks the barrage of stones and arrows =p). It looks like the stylized leather jackets that Bret wore during that time, vs the more traditional jackets he had later on. Of course, I'm also a sucker for the all-pink attire.

I don't know why RSC wouldn't be selling becasue they are strictly exclusive to RSC but then again Mattel's prices are higher than Jakks' were, so who knows.
Here are my reasons on why I pass on these exclusives and maybe others have share the same ressons as myself:
CM Punk- Some people collect their favorite characters no matter what era. For me, I like the current roster of figures to be... well current. Take E13 Cody Rhodes. As great as a figure that is I'll pass on it because I'd rather have one that depicts him now. Same goes with CM Punk. He is more popular than he has ever been and people really want a figure that portrays the "Best Wrestler in the World" and I just think his time with this look was too brief.
Rey- I bought E1 Rey very happy with him and I haven't bought another Rey since. The DC/WWE Crossover is nice, but again it makes a great MOC figure. I think this one would have been better off as a BOPPV or some other store exclusive.
Macho King- I did buy one of these for my friend's b-day. Great figure, but I think if you have Legends 5 Macho Man, you're pretty much set. I would like to get this one down the road for completest reasons, but it it sells out I wouldn't be too bent out of shape.
Bret Hart P & B Attack- the DM is better. I would buy it if the Jacket were cloth instead of rubber.
Andre- I own I love it, but I can see where people won't buy it. Jaded collectors giving Mattel a big middle finger is the probable reason why it is now a webpage warmer. It was supposed to be sold in stores with an Elite Scale Ring (which was cancelled... and that sucks btw), then it was slated for the Legends Series 7 line up (Which was also cancelled) now it is on Matty Collector for more money, plus shipping which make it almost double the retail price. Need I say more.
Rockers-Same as above
Kane- Sold well because it was the closest to a classic version of Kane at the time. If the E12 Kane was the RSC instead it would have sold out in the first few days. I don't know when the RSC Kane sold out, but I wonder if people are now looking to get it to customize him with his current look. I notice figures containing popular custom parts sell really well on ebay which would explain his high price. Sorry, I tend to go on and on, but yeah it's mind blowing how these great figures aren't selling. Yet, if these were store items they would be impossible to find. Maybe people prefer buying in stores. For me, I like using cash, and that I can't do on a computer.

I wish they would give us a new scan in exclusives or something significantly different. Not just new accessories. I'm only getting the RS Bret to swap torsos with the dm then I'm gonna to sell one of them with that rubber crap jacket.

For me personally I passed on most of them for the simple fact that they don't interest me.
Mysterio - The figure just looks terrible overall. They should have done a older WCW version of Rey which I think would have brought in a lot more sales.
Punk - Nothing special about it in my opinion and it wasn't really needed. Plus like vonhooten said I also like my figures to be current. The masked look was already gone by the time the figure came out.
Kane - I passed on this because I wanted Kane in his debut attire which we ended up getting as a Flashback.
Macho King - I'm good with my Legends 5 figure. The only other Macho I might buy is a NWO one.
Bret Hart - I'll be picking this up eventually when I get the money for it.
Andre - Never cared for the guy so it's an easy pass.
Rockers - I bought them as they were one of my all time favorite tag teams. But my experience with Matty Collector has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Arn, Tully, Bundy - These will be easy passes for me since I never liked any of them. I would like a set of those classic tag titles but not bad enough to buy two high priced exclusives.
DDP & Liz - I do want both of these but I don't know if I will risk buying from Matty again or not. I might wait to see if RSC buys some and puts them up for sale.

I don't know if its matter of to much money or to many produced. Don't forget Ringside gets them all so they have them all weather its 3,000 or 5000 piecesin one place, they aren't going to sell at once.

I wonder what your bad experience with Matty was. It seems a lot of people are complaining about them as of late.I have been buy figures from Matty since 2009 and I never had a problem with them. But then again it has been well over a year since I have bought a figure from Matty so who know's. Your probably think how did I get Andre? A friend of mine bought it for me and I paid him. Like I said I like using cash to buy my figures.

The problem was it took over a month for me get my Rockers order. The customer service was useless and had no idea what was going on and couldn't help me. I was continuously told different things over and over and that I would be contacted (which I never was). It was just not a pleasant experience at all and really left me feeling frustrated and angry.

Matty's shipping is very slower, but I've had no real problems with them, all my figs are always mint.

Idc how bad the scan looks he was one of my favs in WCW I'm down to about 20 mattels from like 100. Def gonna be very selective on who I'm buying, but WCW and nWo stuff I'm a huge mark for.

I would be all over the DDP if it was his Late '97-late '98 jeans and tee look. Not a fan of the attire they went with.

I like the figures but I am not sure Im ready to spend 30 bucks for a action figure. I spent that for the Ministry Taker but that wasnt available at retail at the time (b4 matty started selling some on their site) .....Im thinking im gonna wait for DDP or Bundy to buy along with Andre to offset the high shipping on Mattycollector. As for RSC exclusives , I already have Legends 5 Savage and DF Savage so thats enough for me, not a huge fan of Punk, Like the Bret Hart one they have but Im happy with my DF Bret.....if RSC got like Doink next or a character we havent seen yet, I would def probably spring for that..
