MY fav was Royal Rumble 94. I remember going to a video store called Amps. And spending my allowance to rent it over and over again. Being a huge Taker fan it was awesome to me because even though it looked as if Yoko had ended the Undertaker how they did the camera in the casket and him floating was insane for me. I was only 8 and it was the coolest thing.

They sure were expensive back then especially considering now WWE sells a DVD and shirt combo for about half the price. Even WWF shirts were $25-30 in late 1990s.
I think I probably spent as much renting the tapes over again as the videos cost to buy.
My favorites were ALL OF THEM. LOL but most favorites were Big Event and Wrestlefest 88. They seemed just as great as PPVs and had unique venues when at the time only WM III had anything similar. I just wish we could get a full DVD of both with the entrances from Big Event.
The ones I most wanted to see were the ones not at the local store. They were Survivor Series 90, 91, 92 Summerslam 92 and KOTR 93. I starting getting PPVs with Summerslam 93. I finally all the rest but SS 90 at Blockbuster and bought the 90 version around 1996 when the CV were $19.99 through WWF mailers.

I know that Over The Edge 99 was never released on WWF Home Video, but does anyone know why the D-Generation X 97 ppv was never released on WWF Home Video?? Cause I have never seen it anywhere if it was released.

Cause I have never seen it anywhere if it was released. It was, but it is VERY rare to find. It was released over in the U.K. on VHS and then combined with No Way Out for their "Tagged Classics" DVD set. I am not sure if there was a U.S. release because I can only find pictures with the Silver Vision logo on the box. I'm sure it was, but as I said, it's very rare to find.

See, I remember reading somewhere that the DX ppv was never released in the USA. I know some In Your Houses (like Mind Games 96) was only released via through WWF magazines. It was never released in retail to buy in stores.
I didn't understand the WWE's thinking behind that. Maybe there still wasn't a high demand in buying WWF video tapes in 96 and 97.

The DX ppv was never released in the US...not sure why, i think it possibly had to do with horrible buyrate of the ppv that would not turn a profit if released on VHS. Silver Vision only released it in the UK. I don't even think it was a mail order either like Mind Games 96 and Mega Matches 96 (IYH Good Friends Better Enemies). @jammer311 - you could be right, tapes were still pretty expensive, i think even more than the ppv iself; the big 4 were $25-$30 and IYH were $20 when they aired on ppv. Back in the early 90s, ppvs were $40+ and the compilations were $50+ Another thing i noticed is that IYH: It's Time! and IYH: Cold Day in Hell 97 were released in the US but the cover is the UK clamshell case but the printing on the tape is Coliseum Video. Those two are a rare find in the US, especially the coliseum video version. The ones you would see on ebay are the PAL converted to NTSC which is much cheaper and easier to come by. I found a link for brand new copies of both: www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/itm/WWF-YOUR-HOUSE-12-ITS-TIME-COLISEUM-FACTORY-SEALED-/370525038053?pt=VHS&hash=item56450365e5 www.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/itm/WWF-YOUR-HOUSE-15-COLD-DAY-HELL-FACTORY-SEALED-/370525037907?pt=VHS&hash=item5645036553 $510...crazy prices!

I've actually got a few of the rare "500 series" WWF Coliseum Video tapes. I've got Canadian Fan Favorites, Mega Matches '95, WrestleFest '95, and Terminators '96 still with their un-cut cases and all. I never realized they were even rare in the first place. Good to know because I'll hold onto them now for sure.

Wrestlevision The Wrestling Classic was also good.I just hated the editing of some matches fom event's.

I really don't know why a In Your House from 97 is worth $500. I mean, there isn't a price guide for these kind of things. I always figured that they are worth what you want to pay for them. And I would not pay $500 for a factory sealed WWF Coliseum Video tape.
I just figured that greedy people on ebay will put a set price for an item, and others see that and then put their items on there for that same price.

I doubt ANY WWF VHS tape is worth $500, let alone one from '97. They aren't worth that at all. It's just what a certain seller hopes to get for it and he's still got it and I think it'll stay that way.

I wish I knew that Wrestlefest 95 and Canadian Fan Favourites were considered rare though. I remember renting them back in 1996 and recording them. The store went out of business and all the tapes got sold, but I never bothered to buy them since I already had a copy of them.
That was another sweet thing about Coliseum Videos back then. It was super rare (at least for me it was) to find a WWF Coliseum Video that couldn't be copied from vcr to vcr.

Yeah, there are a couple of old tapes I know about that are copy protected. Ones like George "The Animal" Steele and Piledriver. I have both and tried to transfer them to a DVD-R disc, but it wouldn't go through. Sucks, but what can ya do, right??

I was lucky enough that a buddy of mine had a George Steele tape and it copied, same with Piledriver. I have a "Even More Saturday Night's Main Event" tape that is copy protected though, so I had to find a version of it online to download to put in the dvd collection. I wonder why certain versions of said tape was copy protected and other versions of it weren't?? That doesn't make much sense on their end.

Love this forum.High flyers was my first purchase.19.99 koko b ware & the blue blazer as a team Years before high energy. Nice Coliseum Video!! Blazer and Koko tagging on it was a pretty cool thing, I just forget who they faced. I remember Savage vs. Virgil, Rockers vs. Conquistadors, the Young Stallions were on it, I think they faced The Shadows, and the Bomb Angels vs. Glamour Girls. Not a great Coliseum Video, but definitely a fun one to sit through for an hour.

^ You may forget who Koko & The Blazer faced, but I sure don't. I'm not sure if I still have that particular tape or not, but at any rate, they teamed up to take on "Dangerous" Danny Davis and Jose Estrada. It was actually a VERY good match. Stay tuned to my YouTube channel (hitmanfan24) as I am continuing to upload many classic WWF matches, highlights, interview clips and whatever I come across.
