They are great heels and got some of the best heel heat ever in the old ECW and still got some good heat when they were heel in either TNA or WWE.

Dudley's heel in ECW > Dudley's heel in TNA
They pissed off the ECW crowds before every match the people wanted to jump the railing. Sometimes they did and vice versa, 3D went into the crowd.
