We head live into the Sun Life Stadium arena, the voice of Justin Roberts welcoming everybody to WrestleMania! The crowd is scanned over and they go crazy, Roberts continuing on and announcing the singing of the National Anthem by Lillian Garcia. She belts it out beautifully as we slowly fade out... A promotional video continues onward with footage from The Rock and John Cena over the past year and all the things they have done back and forth. The package is interrupted by Sheamus winning the Royal Rumble and now challenging for Daniel Bryan's World Heavyweight Championship. Next, Chris Jericho's return to Monday Night Raw and eventually his verbal attacks on CM Punk, and everything that has built up between them. Then The Undertaker and Triple H's confrontation last year, and then to most recently and the challenge of it being a Hell in a Cell match. The video package finally comes to a conclusion following a last few moments with a montage of John Cena and The Rock's exchange of words in the background as the footage flashes of them agreeing to the main event match nearly an entire year ago.
We return to the arena, the pyrotechnics going off wild at the stage for a very long period of time. The legendary and historic voice of Jim Ross speaks over afterward, welcoming everybody to the twenty-eighth WrestleMania event! He is alongside Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole, Michael stating that tonight we will watch one of the biggest matches in the history of the WWE! Lawler fires back, saying that he begs to differ - this may be one of the biggest nights in the history of the WWE!
World Heavyweight Championship: Daniel Bryan(c) vs Sheamus
The bell rings and the two circle around the ring a bit, Bryan coming right at Sheamus and firing off a couple of kicks before getting caught and tossed into the corner. The Great White smashes his knees into the mid-section and throws some elbows, dragging Bryan to the middle of the ring and laying him out with a series of slams. The World Champion manages to slip out of the ring and paces back and forth, talking with A.J. a bit before taking her by the arm and pulling her towards the ramp. Sheamus storms out of the ring and behind him as the referee reaches a count of six, the Celtic Warrior taking Bryan by the neck and rushing to the ring only to be mule kicked. Daniel slips into the ring at the count of eight and Sheamus just barely makes it in on time. Bryan quickly stomps away over and over, getting the upper hand. He flies off the ropes and returns with a dropkick to the face as Sheamus attempts to get back on his feet. He goes for a pinfall but only gets a two count on an easy kick out. He gets right back up and continues to stomp down and begins to club a bit until the referee forces him off. He returns to Sheamus almost immediately and fires off in the corner only to be lifted off the mat and rushed across into the other corner spine first! Bryan cries out in pain, Sheamus letting him drop to the mat before pounding his chest and yelling out to the crowd. He awaits the champs rise before bouncing off the ropes and attempting the Brogue Kick only to miss, Bryan rolling him up with the tights only for a two count. They both get back up and Daniel misses a shot to the head, turning to a successful Brogue Kick that drops him with authority! The crowd pops as Sheamus drops down for the pin only for Bryan to just barely kick out. The Great White isn't pleased as he staggers onto his feet slowly, taking Bryan up once again only to be kicked in the back of the leg and taken to the mat with a huge DDT! The World Champion scrambles a bit and forces in the LaBell Lock! The crowd boos as Sheamus struggles his hand about, prying at the hands and trying to get free. After about an entire minute of being stuck in the hold, Sheamus manages to inch himself close enough to the ropes to grab the bottom one. Bryan lets the count go to four before getting up and yelling out in anger. He pushes down on Sheamus' neck as he leans over the middle rope, the referee counting once again up to four before pulling Bryan away. They argue with each other and A.J. gets onto the apron. She goes to strike Sheamus as he gets up but he manages to catch her by the wrist! Bryan comes charging but the challenger takes notice and avoids it, Daniel taking out his own girlfriend! He spins around and is dropped with the Brogue Kick! Sheamus drops to the mat quickly and hooks up both legs for the victory!
Winner of the match and new World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus (9:02)
The Great White brand new champion rises up to his feet and pounds on his chest, yelling out to the crowd in victory. He is awarded his title belt and rushes to the corner, hopping onto the second turnbuckle and pumping it high up in the air over and over again. Bryan is seen slipping out of the ring with his face in his hands, not even paying attention to a downed A.J. five feet away from him. Sheamus, meanwhile, continues his celebration.
We fade to a video package, previous events of WrestleMania breezing by in a montage. It slowly comes to a stop with a building being scanned up quickly, eventually a flash coming out and the Empire State building being shown in multiple angles. The video then continues on to show MetLife Stadium, the voiceover booming stating next year the WrestleMania XXIX extravaganza journeys to New York and New Jersey on April 7, 2013!
Maria Menounos and Kelly Kelly vs Eve Torres and Divas Champion Beth Phoenix
The bell rings as Kelly starts things off with Eve. They lock up with each other and Kelly throws her down to the mat and mounts on top of her. They rustle around a bit, Kelly eventually getting atop and pounding down on Eve's face. She pushes her off and scrambles to Beth. She comes into the ring and floors Kelly down. She picks her up and drops her down with slam after slam, eventually beginning to make tags back and forth with Eve. Each of them make a mockery of Kelly and do work for just about fifteen seconds every time. Kelly begins to fight back, however, and knocks Torres onto the mat with a huge kick to the stomach. She then drops her with a DDT as she comes up. She then makes the tag to Maria, whom brings herself onto the top rope as Kelly drops Beth with a kick to the face as she enters the ring, Maria meanwhile hitting a giant elbow drop from the top rope and getting the pinfall for her team here at WrestleMania!
Winners of the match via pinfall, Maria Menounos and Kelly Kelly (3:30)
The duo stand tall in the middle of the ring, raising each other's arms up in celebration of their victory over the two Diva's who have talked the talk, but clearly tonight could not walk the walk. Beth and Eve back up the ramp, clearly upset, as the winners continue gloating. We follow this up by heading backstage to Matt Striker, whom introduces his guest at this time to be Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long! He asks him about this potentially being his last night as the GM of Friday Nights. Teddy says that he has been putting up with John Laurinaitis long enough, and he has faith that his team of six will beat out Johnny's team of six. He continues on by saying that even if he doesn't pull out the win, he knows that he always has been and always will be a better General Manager than Mr. Laurinaitis.
Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes(c) vs Big Show
The bell sounds and Show steps forward, Rhodes quickly moving around and out of the way. He cowers back in the corner and Show continues to charge towards him, the champion continuing to back away. He ducks under a strike and catches hold of the knee, trying to budge Show but to no avail. He gets clubbed across the back and drops to his knees, calling out in pain. Show grabs him by the tights and drags him back to the middle of the ring as he tries to get away. He forces him up a bit before slapping his back once again and dropping him face first on the mat. Show walks around him and places his foot on the back, Rhodes kicking and screaming as the giant walks right over him! He crawls off to the corner and Show follows him once again, pulling him up against the ropes and wrapping his arms up before shushing the crowd slowly and successfully. He raises his hand up and smashes it down with authority to the chest as the smack echos throughout the Sun Life Stadium! The crowd gives an 'ooh' as Rhodes crawls off to the corner. Show comes at him once again and drives his boot down into the chest. He raises his hand up and struts around the ring, the crowd cheering him on as he gets Cody back onto his feet again, only to get a thumb to the eye. The Intercontinental Champion props himself onto the second turnbuckle and jumps off with his fists to the head, stirring Show a bit. He grabs the strap and fires off a set of shots to the chest and jaw. He gets shoved off the ropes and comes back with a low dropkick to the knees that sends his rival to his hands and knees. He drops down repeatedly over and over again with fists to the back. He rushes off the ropes and returns with a kick to the side of the head that drops him onto his back. Cody covers him but gets shoved high up into the air and across the ring with a smack! Show struggles to the ropes and stammers up, getting rocked from behind with a set of strikes. He turns around to Rhodes, whom comes off the ropes again and jumps up for a crossbody only to be caught. Show shakes his head about and lifts him up over his head in a military press, dropping him down hard to the mat! The crowd cheers on as Rhodes staggers back up and gets met with the ginormous boot of Show. The crowd continues to get fired up as Cody gets up one more time and is grabbed by the throat! He is lifted high in the air but manages to drop down to the mat. He stumbles a bit and comes back to throw a shot but is cracked with the fist to the jaw out of nowhere! The crowd cheers loud as Show drops down onto him for the three count!
Winner of the match and new Intercontinental Champion, Big Show (6:56)
The World's Largest Athlete gets onto his feet and gets cheered by the crowd, the big man looking to the crowd with a smile before charging to the ropes and pushing the top one down and forcing his other hand high up in the air. He struts around as the referee awards him the Intercontinental Championship, Show raising it up to the crowd as Rhodes stays laid out in the corner of the ring being checked on by the official. Show's celebration continues on.
We head to a video package, highlighting the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony from last night. We eventually head back to the arena, Jim Ross reminding everybody that tomorrow at eight-o-clock eastern right before Monday Night Raw there will be a special one hour airing of the ceremony. We head into the ring where Howard Finkel stands, asking everybody to turn their attention to the stage for this years Hall of Fame inductees! Mil Máscaras, Mike Tyson, Yokozuna (represented by The Usos - whom inducted him the night before), The Four Horsemen, and the Rated R Superstar Edge! The crowd gives them a round of applause as they continue to wave out to them. We then cut backstage to see Randy Orton walking down a hallway, Josh Mathews interrupting him and asking how he feels about facing Kane tonight. Orton tilts his head back and forth, telling Josh that he doesn't have time to answer questions and all he truly has time for is destroying the 'Big Red Monster'.
Grudge Match: Randy Orton vs Kane
The bell goes off and Orton rushes up and pounds away at the Big Red Machine before pushing off the ropes and coming back with a shot straight to the head. He begins to take him back up against the corner, smashing his fists into the head over and over until the referee pulls him away. He backs off at first and charges back only to be caught by the throat! Kane raises him up high but Orton gets down and pounds across the back before eating an elbow. Kane fires off with strikes of his own, dropping Randy to the mat over and over again with vicious strikes. He tosses him all around the ring, eventually going for a Tombstone Piledriver very early on. He gets it locked up, but Orton manages to squirm free and arm drag the monster to the mat. He mounts on the back and pounds down with strikes to the back and head. Kane forces him off and gets to his feet with the ropes, Orton continuing with shot after shot to the head only to be shoved away. The Viper comes right back and gets caught by the throat once again and is lifted and dropped with the chokeslam in the middle of the ring! Kane hooks both legs up for just a two count. He slams his fist into the mat and gets back up, pacing back and forth before yanking Orton off to the corner and applying his foot down on the throat and releasing it at the count of four. He exits the ring and takes Randy with him, tossing him into the barricade and then the steel steps. He then picks him up onto his shoulder and rushes to the steel post, Orton pushing off and driving Kane face first into it. He rolls in and out of the ring at the count of eight, charging at the Big Red Monster and clotheslining him into the announce table. He fires vicious strikes and brings him by the neck back towards the ring only to be pushed back into it spine first. Kane takes him by the neck and tights and pushes him in. As he rises onto the apron, however, Orton pops up and kicks him in the knee dropping him down. He then takes Kane by the hair and drags him between the top and middle rope, balancing him upon it and delivering the devastating DDT! He pops up to his feet and begins to get fired up before dropping onto his fists and knees, pounding at the mat and waiting. Kane suddenly sits up and rises up to his feet, Orton jumping up and going for the RKO only to be pushed away. He comes back and is lifted up for the Tombstone Piledriver but he manages to slip off of the shoulder and nail the RKO in the middle of the ring as soon as Kane turns! The crowd goes wild as Orton covers him - pulling himself off at two. He slithers back to the corner with a sickening grin across his face as he slides onto one knee and begins to push up and down a bit, seething at the mouth! Kane begins to roll over and stir a bit, Orton quickly charging at him and punting him right in the skull! He flails his body around and pushes down on the ropes before dropping onto the mat and slithering over, hooking both legs up slowly for the three count.
Winner of the match via pinfall, Randy Orton (8:55)
Orton slowly rises up onto his feet and has his arm raised in victory as he stares down at the Big Red Monster with a demonic grin. He slowly drops down onto his fists and knees again, staring at the closed eyes of Kane and slowly pushing himself out of the ring, stepping up the ramp and turning back to the crowd to deliver his signature taunt, Kane still laid out in the middle of the ring. Orton heads off to the back as the we pan off to a video package.
Back in December, promo videos began to air. On the first Monday Night Raw of 2012, the returning Chris Jericho appeared. In February, he would go on to win a Battle Royal and become the number one contender for the WWE Championship. Over the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, Jericho has gained the upper hand repeatedly on Punk and has gone as far insulting his entire family with all of their past history. Punk has, surprisingly, not fired back as strong as people would expect. The video ends with the voice-over of Jericho talking about Punk's family and their history, while showing the footage from last Monday with Punk destroying Christian out of rage.
WWE Championship: CM Punk(c) vs Chris Jericho
The bell goes off, the two locking up immediately and Jericho slipping free and kicking the leg out. He pounds down on Punk's forehead before getting tripped down to the mat and the champion going for the Anaconda Vice already! Jericho manages to get away though by getting a hold of the ropes, forcing the hold to have to be let go. They both get back up and begin to trade shots back and forth, Punk tossing Jericho into the corner and driving kicks into the chest and legs. He backs off a bit and returns for his signature knee, Jericho moving out of the way and kicking the leg out as Punk hobbles back towards him. He takes hold of it and lifts it high up, dropping it back down with authority to the mat. He then places his foot on the back of the knee and pulls on it with all the strength he has. Punk scrambles his hands about, yelling out in pain. Jericho lets go of it and lets Punk get to the ropes, following after him and slapping him in the head until he gets up. Once he stands tall, Jericho fires off with some strikes to the head and then whips him off the ropes, only to be nailed with a huge clothesline. Punk staggers back up and takes Jericho up again, slamming his forearm onto the spine and taking him into his side, delivering a giant suplex in the middle of the ring. He stumbles back up, holding onto his leg and taking Jericho up again. He nails yet another suplex and goes through the same process, this time the challenger reversing it and hitting a suplex of his own. He pops right back to his feet and mocks Punk by strutting around him, showing his legs are just fine. Punk catches hold of one with his arms though and trips him face first into the turnbuckle. He staggers back up and takes Jericho back to the middle of the ring, slamming the knee into the mat with authority. He does it again, and again, and a fourth time! He then lets Jericho crawl to the ropes before coming up behind him and stepping on both legs, not letting him move. He finally comes off and Jericho struggles up with the ropes, turning right to Punk and lifted onto the shoulders. He releases him for the GTS but Jericho manages to land down on his feet and avoid it. He jumps up suddenly and delivers the Codebreaker! Both men are laid out as the Miami crowd gives quite the mixed reaction as Jericho slowly crawls over and hooks the far leg, only for Punk to just barely kick out! Jericho stammers onto his feet and begins to argue with the referee before returning to Punk and kicking him in the ribs over and over again, not letting him get up. The official forces him to back off and Punk struggles up coughing in the corner. Jericho shoves the ref aside and comes storming up, only for Punk to slip him onto his shoulders. Jericho struggles and catches hold of the ropes, Punk pushing him off and dropping him face first over onto the steel post. He struggles back and stammers to the middle of the ring, Punk lifting him up again and nailing the Go To Sleep dead smack in the middle of the ring! The crowd roars as Punk slowly flops over Jericho, only getting a two count! Punk can't believe it as he sits up and folds his face into his hands, slowly getting onto his feet. He steps around the ring a bit before returning to Jericho and yanking him up, getting a shot right into the mid-section. The challenger continues his firing off to the mid section and gets back up, flying off the ropes and ducking a clothesline and spinning around with a giant dropkick that pushes him into the corner. He gets back up and rushes off to the ropes, jumping off of the middle one and nailing a kick right to the back of the head. Punk stumbles out slowly, Jericho stirring up and rushing off the ropes again and coming back with the Codebreaker, only to be caught and dropped down onto his back. He brings Punk with him, however, and rolls him over and pushes him off into the corner upside down! Punk lays out against it, holding his back and neck in pain. Jericho gets up again, laughing a bit, "You're gonna drink, Punk! You're gonna drink!" He takes him by the legs and takes him out to the middle of the ring, attempting to turn him over for the Walls of Jericho. He manages to shift him onto his side, Punk suddenly squirming about and getting free. He slides over to the ropes, Jericho following him again and taking the legs once more. He pulls them up, Punk holding onto the middle rope and pushing his feet back and shoving Jericho back. He lands down on his feet and ducks a clothesline on the comeback, raising Jericho onto his shoulders once more and fighting the struggle, nailing the Go To Sleep once again! He slowly drops down onto the mat and hooks up both legs for the pinfall.
Winner of the match and still WWE Champion, CM Punk (15:45)
Punk gets onto his feet, getting a great ovation from the crowd as he is awarded his retained title belt. He takes deep breaths before raising the belt up, yelling out to the crowd. He rushes to each and every corner, taking time to celebrate by going up and raising the belt up to each side of the arena and yelling out. As Jericho begins to walk up the ramp in disappointment, Punk yells out at him, "I'm never going to drink, Jericho!" and raises the belt up again.
We fade out to a video package. It starts off with WrestleMania 25, where The Undertaker defeats Shawn Michaels in a critically acclaimed match. The following year, he defeats Michaels in a rematch that retires the Heart Break Kid. Last year, The Undertaker returned to the WWE and he didn't even get to say a word as Triple H returned immediately after. He came down to the ring and laid down the challenge for WrestleMania 27, Undertaker accepting. In this match, the Dead Man is once again victorious in yet another critically acclaimed match. The footage advances to most recently with Undertaker now laying down the challenge to Triple H, except this time it is not accepted. In the weeks coming, Taker continues to try and get Hunter to agree to it, eventually he does but makes it a Hell in a Cell match. Then even more recently, Shawn Michaels announces he will be the special guest referee. In the final weeks leading up to this historic event, the End of an Era match becomes stronger and stronger with the confrontations between all three men and the video package finally comes to a conclusion with Undertaker saying right in front of the former D-Generation X members (to Triple H): "Remember when I said Shawn is better than you? He is." We head into the arena where the Hell in a Cell structure is being set up, the crowd scanned over and cheering on. The commentary team speaks about how both of these men are two of the greatest to ever enter a WWE ring tonight... Shawn Michaels' music hits and he makes his way down ready to officiate between his best friend and the man whom retired him just two years ago.
Hell in a Cell with Shawn Michaels as the Referee: The Undertaker vs Triple H
The bell tolls and the three men in the ring all stand still. Taker slowly removes his hood, revealing his very short hair to the surprise of everybody other than The Game, whom just keeps his cold stare. Michaels takes the gear the Dead Man removes and gets it out of the ring. Undertaker and Triple H step forward to each other, getting face to face, The Game sharing some last minute words that clearly piss off the Dead Man as he fires off first. They trade shots back and forth and Undertaker gets the upper hand, pushing Hunter back into the corner and rocking him with lefts and rights. HHH fights back though and tosses him into the corner, nailing some lefts and rights of his own, getting the upper hand. He steps out to the apron and takes Taker by the hair, leaning him between the ropes, only to get shoved off and back first into the cell structure. Taker slips out of the ring and follows after him, taking him by the hair and throwing him face first into the steel. He then pushes him into the ring again and follows up, nailing a big boot as soon as the King of Kings rises. He lets him get back up and hits another set of strikes before getting kneed right in the stomach. Triple H pounds down across the back and tosses Taker face first into the turnbuckle nearby. He hits a set of stomps to the mid-section and gets out of the ring, taking hold of the leg and wrapping it right around the post. He continues to do this, Shawn just standing back and watching. He and Hunter lock eyes with each other, the Game drifting them off and looking under the ring and pulling out a steel chair. He re-enters the ring and steps around a bit, storming up to Taker as he rises and swinging down, only to hit the ropes and have the chair come back into his own face. He drops it down and the Dead Man lifts him onto his shoulder and hits snake eyes into the corner. He then flies off of the ropes and returns with a thunderous flying forearm. He sits right up after and stirs onto his feet, motioning the end already. He drags HHH up and lifts him for the Tombstone, Triple H easily getting down and kicking him right in the gut. He then sets up for the Pedigree, but Taker lifts him up over his shoulders and over the ropes and into the steel! The crowd goes wild as HHH lays out on the floor, holding onto the back of his head. Shawn steps out and checks on his friend, Taker staying up against the ropes as Hunter grabs hold of the structure and apron. He manages to stir very, very slowly and eventually gets onto his feet. Undertaker pushes off the ropes and comes rushing to the ropes, stopping himself though as Shawn is right there. He stares him down and sneers, stepping out of the ring and shoving him aside. Triple H takes advantage of it and delivers a huge low blow before tossing Taker face first into the steel post. He then takes him by the neck and walks around the ring with him, throwing him face first into the door and letting him fall through. He storms back towards the ring and takes the chair from earlier, following out of the cell and smashing it across the back of Taker over and over again. He smashes it into the spine about ten times before looking up at the structure. He grabs hold of it and begins to slowly move up the side of the cell, the crowd cheering on as The Game eventually reaches the top with the chair still in his hands. He puts it down and looks down as Undertaker, whom sits up suddenly! The crowd goes wild as he sneers again and looks up, Triple H crotch chopping. The Dead Man slowly gets up onto his feet and grabs hold of the structure, Michaels slowly following out and Taker beginning to make his way up. He eventually gets to the top, stirring up and staring down the man he defeated a year ago. He does his signature throat taunt before stepping up and trading shots back and forth, ducking under one and scooping the chair up. He swings it wildly and smashes it right into the face of Triple H as if revenge for last year! The crowd goes nuts as Taker looks off the cell, tossing the chair off and onto the ramp. The commentary crew makes note of how that could be either of these men with how risky it is to be standing atop this structure. Hunter slowly pulls himself up and Taker grabs him by the throat, lifting him up high and onto his shoulder! He adjusts him about before dropping him right down on the cell top with the tombstone piledriver, the crowd once again bursting out with an ovation! Taker drops to one knee to catch his breath, taking Hunter up once again and grasping his throat. Triple H sends a boot up suddenly though and nails the Dead Man with a low blow, quickly adjusting and nailing the Pedigree in the exact same spot! The arena once more goes crazy, both men laid out on the middle of the structure. Hunter begins to roll first, getting onto his hands and knees. He eventually manages to get onto one knee, looking to Taker as he suddenly sits up and snaps his focus to Hunter. He begins to get up, getting met with shots to the back. He begins to fire back himself, however, and grasps The Game by the throat! The crowd begins to get even crazier as he backs up a bit, feeling a bit of struggle before lifting him up in the air and dropping him straight throat the structure and into the middle of the ring! The arena goes absolutely insane as Triple H stays down, Taker looking down as Michaels stands on the outside in absolute disbelief at what he has just witnessed! The Dead Man falls down onto his back and begins to slowly crawl his way to the edge of the cell. The crowd is chanting "Holy sh*t!" at this point, Taker shuffling himself down the structure at an extremely low pace. After about another minute, he reaches the bottom and falls down onto the floor, breathing heavily. He crawls to the structure once more, pulling himself up with the aid of the steel. He walks inside of it, Triple H still down and out. He grasps hold of the ropes and slowly brings himself inside. He looks across the ring, taking his time before stammering over and looking down at his opponent. He drops down to one knee, Michaels slowly entering the ring from behind. Taker collapses onto the body, the Heart Break Kid slowly bringing himself down and counting not-so-normally, Triple H barely kicking out, very lightly, at what is literally 2.9! The crowd bursts out once more as Taker sits up and glares at Michaels for taking his time. He stands up slowly, the Heart Break Kid slipping out of the ring and begging for Taker to not hurt him. The Dead Man just stares him down before returning his attention to Triple H, walking over as he rolls around in pain. He lets him get up with the ropes, barely managing to stand even with the assistance. He takes him by the throat once again and lifts him into the air, Hunter just barely managing to wrap his arm around the neck and bringing Taker down with the DDT! They both lay down, Michaels still on the outside. However, he has a sledgehammer in his hands. He stares in the ring and meets eyes with his best friend, giving a nod as he slides it into the corner. Triple H rolls onto his side, beginning to make the crawl to it. He grasps hold of it and looks up to Shawn, who now is in the ring, and gets onto his feet. Taker gets onto his hands and knees and The Game steps over, raising the hammer up high and swinging it down and having it break right over the back of the Phenom! He drops onto his knee and looks at the broken piece, slowly turning Taker over and hooking the leg. Shawn drops down and counts once again relatively slowly... one, two, thre- the Dead Man raises his shoulder up off the mat! The arena continues it's wild reactions, completely into the match. Triple H slowly gets onto his feet and takes hold of Shawn's shoulder for support, beginning to exchange words with him. Taker sits up in the meantime very slowly, and rises onto his feet with his back turned. HHH spins himself around and steps up to him, turning him and kicking him once again in the midsection. He sets up for the Pedigree and delivers it dead smack in the center of the ring. He stays down momentarily before rolling him over and covering the body, once again Undertaker managing to get his shoulder up out of absolutely nowhere. Hunter gets up once again, still taking hold of Shawn for support. He seems to be angry as he begins to shake his head back in forth in disbelief, turning back to Taker and dragging him up. He fires off with ferocious strikes to the skull, turning himself around and storming about the ring. He comes back quickly for a clothesline but it is ducked and the Undertaker shifts him up onto his shoulder, bringing him to the middle of the ring and dropping him down with a thunderous Tombstone Piledriver. He folds the arms over very slowly, his head down unlike usual, Michaels counting the three to the End of an Era.
Winner of the match via pinfall, The Undertaker (28:58)
The arena bursts into wild cheers of joy as the lights dim down, Undertaker and Triple H laid out next to each other in the middle of the ring. Shawn checks down on both of them before raising his arms up in a "X". The lights come up as the cell structure begins to be removed, medical assistance coming down to the ring with stretchers. Triple H is attended to first, and he willingly gets helped onto the stretcher. They begin to go for Undertaker, but he sits himself up and slides out of the ring. Shawn follows out of the ring, checking on Hunter as the Dead Man at first seems a bit wobbly but begins to walk up the ramp on his own. He swipes his hand over his head, stepping up slowly and the lights once again coming down as he looks back to the ring. The stage flashes in bright lights "20-0" as a smoke effect fills up the stage and after about thirty seconds, it fades out, the music stops, and the lights come back on. The Undertaker is nowhere to be seen and Triple H is assisted out on a stretcher, Shawn Michaels in tow. The commentary team airs highlights of the match including the chokeslam through the cell, the sledgehammer shot, the Pedigree at the end, and the ultimate finish with the Tombstone Piledriver.
We transition backstage to Matt Striker, whom introduces his guest at this time to be interim Raw General Manager, John Laurinaitis. He goes to ask a question, but Johnny tells him to get him right. Striker speaks again, introducing his guest at this time to be the Vice President of Talent Relations and the interim General Manager of Raw, John Laurinaitis. He then asks him what he thinks about this possibly being his last night as the interim General Manager of Raw. Johnny laughs and says that Matt and nobody else has to worry about that because tonight his team of six will easily destroy Teddy Long. He also says that he watched the interview with Teddy earlier, and it's obvious he doesn't have enough faith in his own team and people better be getting ready to kiss some butt on both Raw and Smackdown - because he's going to be the boss of each and every one of them. He excuses himself and walks off for his match up next.
Winner Becomes General Manager of Both Brands: Team Teddy vs Team Johnny
The bell rings as the match starts off with Santino and Otunga. They go up to each other and Marella begins to mock Otunga before getting rocked right in the face. David fires off repeatedly and takes Santino down in the corner before delivering a giant sidewalk slam. He struts off to his corner and makes the tag to Swagger, whom enters the ring and wraps his arms around the waist of the United States Champion and begins to toss him around a bit. Santino manages to get free and dives for the tag to Kingston, whom flies off the top rope and hits a huge kick to the face. He pops back up and begins to fire off with strikes and kicks to Swagger, getting lifted up and dropped on the top rope. In the process, Khali makes a tag and enters the ring while Swagger is taunting. He steps in and stares Jack down until his teammates warn him, Swagger turning around in fear as he gets hit right in the face with a boot! The entire team of Johnny comes rushing into the ring and begins to fight with Khali, Team Teddy eventually getting in as well. A whole twelve-man brawl ensues and the group becomes scattered, eventually getting out of the ring and continuing some battles before getting back to their corners. Swagger manages to escape in the mess, making a tag to Henry, whom enters and stares at Khali. They step up to each other and begin to trade shots, Khali eventually getting the upper hand and dropping the World's Strongest Man with a chop to the skull! The crowd begins to go wild as Zack Ryder begs for a tag, Khali slowly walking over and making it. Ryder enters the ring and gets pumped up as Henry begins to stir at the ropes, Zack rushing over and leapfrogging and applying a sleeper hold to Henry, who makes the tag off to Ziggler in the mix. He enters and Mark pushes back into the corner and steps out, Dolph slamming his fists at him viciously. He goes for the Zig Zag after a minute or so of just a straight up beat down, Ryder managing to slip out of it and make a desperate tag to Truth. He comes into the ring and clotheslines Ziggler three times before hitting a huge kick to the chest. He begins to get fired up and takes Ziggler up, getting a thumb to the eye and a tag is made to McIntyre. He storms into the ring and gets nailed with a spinning clothesline. The crowd begins to chant "Booker T!" as he begins to fire them up, Truth looking around and making it. He enters the ring and steps to the middle of the ring, shaking his head about and dropping to the mat, executing the legendary spin-a-roonie before popping up and kicking McIntyre in the gut and flying off for the Scissors Kick, Drew managing to move out of the way. Booker whacks him with a punch to the head, however, and flings him off the ropes. McIntye ducks a shot on the comeback and makes a blind tag to Miz. He comes back for a clothesline and drops Booker down. The entire team of Johnny enters the ring and goes at Teddy, a brawl once again breaking loose! They all begin to make it out of the ring and Booker slowly staggers in the middle of the ring, Miz stalking his prey and rushing up behind him and hitting the Skull Crushing Finale! He hooks up both legs for the slow pinfall.
Winners of the match via pinfall, Team John Laurinaitis (8:08)
The crowd boos as the team of The Miz, David Otunga, Mark Henry, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, and Jack Swagger enter alongside their captain. Johnny calls for a microphone as he gives smiles, handshakes, and hugs to his team. He looks off to Teddy and his team at the ramp, telling Teddy to hold on right there. He says now that he is the Vice President of Talent Relations and the General Manager of Raw and Smackdown, he would like to make the offer that Teddy Long become his assistant to his legal adviser, David Otunga! The crowd boos as Teddy lets his team stay as he returns to the ring, getting a microphone of his own and stepping up to Johnny. They stare down a bit as Long looks down at the mat then back up to Otunga and Laurinaitis, telling them he would like nothing more than to say absolutely not! Laurinaitis isn't pleased and his team pounces forward, Long escaping out of the ring and his team stepping forward as they begin to exit. Johnny orders them to back off as Teddy's team escorts him to backstage, Team Johnny celebrating anyway as Laurinaitis is now the General Manager of both Raw and Smackdown! We then cut backstage to see John Cena making his way down the halls, the crowd cheering on in the background for the most part. The camera then panning to The Rock walking down another, the crowd getting even more excited. The once in a lifetime match... is next.
We head to a video package in which begins with the history of The Rock in the WWE since his debut, and eventually his leave. It goes on to show John Cena making his debut around the same time The Rock was beginning to slow his career down. We get some home videos in between, and then voice overs of both Cena and Rock giving classic promos over their careers and being so much alike. The video highlights what they've accomplished, being the WWE Champion multiple times, each man winning the Royal Rumble, and each man being viewed as one of the best in the business. We go to last year where The Rock is announced as the host for WrestleMania XXVII. He cuts his promo upon his return to Raw and at the event itself, he costs John Cena the match... the night after, the challenge is laid out for tonight for The Rock versus John Cena and it is accepted by the Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment. The promo continues on with the multiple promos these two have sent back and forth over this entire legendary feud, including Rock's satellite insults, Cena's rap, and their ultimate one-on-one confrontations with each other this year. It comes to a conclusion with Rock saying, "We make history..." Cena saying, "The headline reads what I predicted: John Cena whoops The Rock's ass at WrestleMania!"
Once in a Lifetime: John Cena vs The Rock
The bell goes off and the two legends - past and present - stare each other down. They step up to the middle of the ring and look up and down at one another before backing off and circling the ring. They step up to each other, locking up, Cena hooking hold of the neck and pushing back into the ropes before getting shoved off and dropped down with an arm drag. They both pop back up and trade strikes back and forth, Rock getting the upper hand and sending Cena right to the outside. He begins to yell out to the crowd, completely fired up as they cheer him on. Cena comes back in and begins to nail some strikes of his own, the two once again going back and forth until John clotheslines Rock over the top! He also gets a loud ovation as he slaps his hands together. He kneels down a bit and stares his opponent down, adjusting his shorts and motioning for Rock to "Just Bring It". He wrenches his neck around before storming into the ring and popping up, trading shots once more before taking Cena by the neck and throwing him into the corner. He delivers some chops and then stomps that eventually land Cena sitting down. He backs off a bit and gets fired up once more, returning to Cena and sending one more boot. He takes him up by the neck and hits an uppercut, flopping John across the top rope. Rock takes him by the forearm and whips him across, letting him return and nailing a huge clothesline! He lets Cena get back up, once again hitting a set of strikes before giving a little "You Can't See Me" and delivering a hard DDT. He hooks both legs up quickly, getting just a two count to no surprise. He flings up to his feet and goes off the ropes, returning to Cena with a swinging neckbreaker and then bringing himself up again. He takes John to his feet and hits a couple more shots and flails his arm out, sending out one more only for it to be caught. Cena takes him to his side and lifts him up, dropping him with a hard suplex in the middle of the ring. He gets back up and rushes off the ropes, coming back with a thunderous shoulder block. They both get up again and Cena does the exact same. As he goes for it a third time, however, Rock catches the arm and delivers an arm drag that he converts immediately into a headlock. He wrenches at the neck of Cena, keeping it locked in for quite sometime before dragging him up onto his feet and getting taken up off the mat and forced back into the corner. John spins around and kicks him in the stomach, firing off shots to the head of his own. He then takes hold of the arm and hooks it around the back of his neck, rushing out of the corner and flipping Rock over onto his back hard. He storms up to his feet and steps around the ring, exiting to the apron. He looks around the arena to the crowd before getting on top of the turnbuckle and measuring up Rock. He goes off for the leg drop, the People's Champion managing to move out of the way. Cena holds onto himself and Rock comes off the ropes with a dropkick right in the face. He hooks up the leg for just a two count once again, mounting on top of Cena and slinging him with fists left and right. John covers himself up and topples Rock over and gets on top of him, returning the favor. He gets up and yells out to the crowd, storming around the ring and coming back to Rock as he gets up and hitting a set of shots to the back before lifting him up by the legs and hitting a huge spinout powerbomb. He gets back onto his feet and gives the "You Can't See Me" wave, stopping himself and slowly removing his wristband and tossing it to the crowd! He swings his arms about and goes off of the ropes, hopping over Rock not just once but twice and coming back, brushing his shoulder, and hitting the People's Elbow! He hops up onto his feet and awaits Rock, whom rises right into the grip of Cena on his shoulders, whom delivers the Attitude Adjustment right in the middle of the ring! The crowd gives a mixed reaction as Cena hooks up both legs, Rock just barely managing to kick out! Both men stay down on the mat before beginning to stir, Cena coming at Rock only to be caught by the legs and dropped with a huge spinebuster in the middle of the ring! Rocky then steps off to the side and takes hold of his elbow pad, stopping himself suddenly. He begins to snicker and leans down to John, giving a little wave of his own. He pushes off of the ropes and comes back, giving a wiff of the air before coming down with the Five Knuckle Shuffle as a bit of payback! He awaits Cena to get up, and prepares for the Rock Bottom but Cena manages to squirm free and fly off the ropes. He comes back for the shoulder block, only for Rock to catch him by the waist and hit the spinebuster again. He takes hold of both legs and quickly moves his foot in between it, turning Cena over and locking in the sharpshooter! John struggles his hands about as he can't find the ropes, Rock wrenching at the hold strong. Nearly a whole minute goes by before Cena can even move himself, getting closer to the ropes. Rock lets go of it and brings him back to the middle, Cena making a quick move to get his leg free and push Rock off of him. He struggles onto his hands and knees and The Rock comes back, taking him up by the arm and tossing strikes to the head once more. He ducks a shot back and lifts Cena up, dropping him down with the Rock Bottom! The arena roars with cheers as Rock quickly flings himself into the pin, Cena managing to kick out just before the official's hand hits the mat! Rock sits himself up and his eyes go wide as he can't believe it. He gets onto his feet and begins to walk around, trying to figure things out. He lets Cena get back up and storms up to him, lifting him up off the mat and onto his shoulders - moving back to the middle of the ring and hitting the Attitude Adjustment! The arena bursts out once again as The Rock drops down and hooks both legs, Cena once more kicking out just barely! Nobody can believe it as Rock throws himself onto his chest, still in absolute disbelief. He pushes his hands under him after a few moments, slowly stirring up onto his feet and walking around Cena, giving a couple of stomps. He takes him back onto his feet slowly, only to be taken up off the mat and dropped over the head of Cena back first! John slowly moves himself about, flinging off of the ropes and going for a clothesline only for Rock to duck under it and the referee is taken out! Rock charges at Cena and takes him over the top rope with a clothesline of his own. He steps out of the ring and follows after him, looking to the Spanish announce table and quickly clearing it off. He storms up to John and brings him over to it, setting up for the Rock Bottom but Cena keeping himself grounded. Rock lets go and takes him by the neck, throwing him face first into it and rolling him on top of it. He gets upon it and brings Cena up to his feet again, setting up for the Rock Bottom again. John fights back still, but eventually loses the battle as Rock lifts him high off of the table and drops him down straight through it! They both lay out in the carnage as the arena continues going nuts for this Once in a Lifetime match. Both men roll around in clear pain, Cena face down against the ring. Rock slowly brings himself up with the aid of the barricade, stammering over to Cena. He takes him up and shoves him into the ring, slowly rolling in and following. He gets up onto his feet and lets Cena work his way up, Rock stepping up after him only to be caught off guard with Cena nailing a Rock Bottom in the middle of the ring! The crowd once again pops, both men laid out side by side, along with the referee! All of a sudden, those cheers fade into boos as John Laurinaitis is making his way down to the ring! He steps up to the ring and looks under it, grabbing hold of a steel chair! The crowds boos continue to get louder and louder as he enters the ring, standing behind Cena as he begins to stir up in the corner. The commentary unit goes crazy, not believing what they're seeing as the General Manager is about to ruin this entire match! Cena gets fully to his feet and keeps his back turned, suddenly Laurinaitis spinning around and nailing The Rock square in the face with the chair! The life in the arena is sucked out in disbelief, WrestleMania Seventeen seeming to be resurrected as Laurinaitis steps out of the ring, Cena slowly dropping himself onto the People's Champion and the referee very slowly crawling and counting: One... two... three.
Winner of the match via pinfall, John Cena (25:25)
Garbage begins to get tossed left and right from the crowd as Cena gets back onto his feet, raising his fists up in victory as Laurinaitis enters the ring slowly. Cena stares him down before growing a slight grin, opening his arms up and letting the General Manager give him a hug! The whole entire Sun Life Stadium is erupting with boos as The Rock begins to stir onto his hands and knees. He gets up onto his feet, stammering still. Cena looks to Laurinaitis, then back to Rock. He gives a "You Can't See Me" and lets him turn around, raising him onto his shoulders and looking dead straight into the main camera. He then lifts Rock high up off of him and delivers the Attitude Adjustment right in the middle of the now garbage filled ring! Everybody is absolutely pissed off, as they have witnessed once again The Rock be screwed at WrestleMania and once again, there is absolutely no explanation! Jim Ross shouts out in absolute disbelief, "Why has John Cena aligned himself with John Laurinaitis? Why has he given this anticipation of an entire year just to cheat his way to victory? Why John, why!?" WrestleMania XXVIII coming to a conclusion.

What an awesome Mania
Sheamus becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion beating Bryan, awesome match-up, really awesome, I wonder if now will AJ turn on Bryan, or will Bryan dump her, but most importantly next PPV is Extreme Rules and I see Sheamus vs Bryan 2 but what type of match-up will it be?
Maria Menounos and Kelly Kelly beating Eve and Beth Phoenix, Divas Tag Team Match I didn't really care anything about, but nonetheless in all seriousness it's a great win for them both, but hopefully it sets up Kelly Kelly vs Beth Phoenix at Extreme Rules for the Divas Championship or even a Triple-Threat with Kelly Kelly, Eve, and Beth
Big Show beating Rhodes to become the new IC Champion, Big Show deserves the win here if you ask me and now that he finally has that belt, now we can see the IC Title be restored back to its former glory by it being defended on a more consistent basis
Orton beating Kane, now that my main man Orton has Kane out of the way, he can focus himself on becoming World Heavyweight Champion once again and Orton needs to get a World Heavyweight Championship match, he hasn't really had one in a while, and Orton vs Sheamus over the WHC is something I want to see
CM Punk retaining the WWE Championship against Chris Jericho, in what I thought could possibly be match of the night by far was great, I wonder if we will get to see these 2 men go at it again
Team Johnny beating Team Teddy was great, now we can see Johnny take over both shows and now that he is, I know he will do a way better job of running the place, certainly much more better than Teddy Long ever did
Hell In a Cell, now this has to be the match-up of the night, Undertaker going 20-0, and him disappearing like how he did, what does this mean? Will we see The Undertaker again and if so, when?
John Cena turning heel on The Rock, awesome, this is awesome, thank the Lord that he has turned heel and now that he has, I wonder if Cena will cut a promo on your RAW talking about why he has single-handedly turned his back on all the Cenation, why he has single-handedly turned his back on all the little kids who have cheered this man, turning his back on all the parents, all the women that love this man, and Cena I hope you make him an entertaining heel, give him more of a Hollywood persona, think Hollywood Hogan or even Hollywood Rock
Overall your Mania 28 I loved it especially Cena's heel turn, his heel turn now has just turned the WWE on its ear, on its very foundation and then Jim Ross on commentary for his heel turn was great asking John Cena why Cena why, Cena joining up with Johnny similar to Austin joining up with Vince at Mania 17, yes keep building up Cena's heel turn and trust me AJ when I say this, that it is about time someone turned Cena heel in a diary
