it's not a dumb question today, only because you never see the TV belt defended on TV in TNA, always ever on PPV. at least you saw the TV champ defend all the time in WCW on free TV, lol.

The funny thing is that WCW eventually started having their TV Champs take weeks off at a time, only to defend their titles on PPV. TNA is doing a similar thing today.

It is supposed to be the title belt that is defended on free TV cool, thanks for the answer..kinda a dumb concept IMO.... These days all titles are defended on free TV from time to time, but that wasn't always the case. TV tapings were made to build up to a big event. Originally the arena shows, but later pay per views. In order to make the fans feel like they got something good for tuning into the show every week, many territories created the TV title. this title was to be defended every week, generally as the main event on the show. Of course, since the goal was still to sell tickets, most of the actual title changes happened on live events or pay per views. But the fact that a title was even defended on TV was a really big deal at the time. Jim Crocket Promotions had the best TV title. The Dusty Rhodes/Tully Blanchard and Sting/Great Muta feuds were amazing, just to name a couple.

agreed......JCP made the best of their TV title.even in later times WCW used it well with that epic Booker vs Benoit best of 7 series.
but JCP used it best too IMO
