- Many of the talent working within TNA at this time are located in various parts of Florida and only the wrestlers involved in major storylines are being flown out. Previously, TNA would book many of their talents that were out of state and then throw them into something to compensate for flying them out. This could range from anything from a quick backstage promo or a match taped for "TNA Today". It appears TNA is now planning ahead a little bit more now and are really watching their nickels and dimes.
- Speaking of nickels and dimes, a fun fact for the smart marks out there. While many believe that the big names that come into TNA start out with ballooned salaries would be shocked to find out that it is not so in many cases. Many of the "big name" talent start off at the minimum wage pay of the standard contracted TNA wrestler which is $500 an appearance. After they "earn their stripes" it is at that time they start to make the money they come to expect being a "big name" for the company. The known pay grades among the TNA talent ranges from $200 for local talent that were used for squash matches, $500 per appearance for the new TNA Contracted wrestlers and then the next tier of pay is $750 an appearance. This is what most of the wrestlers that have been with the company for over a year are bumped up to. It should be noted as well that the standard TNA contracted wrestler is only guaranteed 26 appearances. So for those doing the math, the first year you are guaranteed $13,000/year and in your second year you can almost expect to be making $19,500/year not including outside bookings or "house show" contracts.
A reporter from GERWECK.NET contacted Spike TV via
e-mail and by phone and their current status with TNA was not disclosed. They did however state that a lot of focus would be going towards shows such as Kill Point and Murder as well as expanding the UFC programming. Unlike TNA, these programs can air reruns and best of's and still draw decent ratings. The same reporter asked why TNA was not prominently featured in their September scheduled line up and they had no comment. Spike was then asked if they could confirm a deal has been made to have TNA remain on the fall lineup and they responded by stating that there should be no reason why they wouldn't but sometimes things change. Spike wouldn't answer any other questions after that.
- Onto Wrestlers response to the possibility of the X-Division Title being unified with the World Title. Many wrestlers started to panic thinking that TNA is moving away from the X Division wrestlers and paying full attention to the heavyweights much similar to the way WWE does. While TNA official stance is that it's not going to happen and that the X-Division still has a big place in TNA. TNA has once again told the wrestlers that the X Division will get their time in the spotlight again soon as TNA is still banking that they will get their two hour time slot from Spike or another station if need be.
- It is believed strongly by many that Team 3D will not be resigning with TNA. Brother Devon has made it publicly known that he would like to and is likely to return to WWE with or without Brother Ray. Their contracts are set to expire come September.
Terry Taylor has informed two TNA talents that their services would not be needed at the Hard Justice PPV, or the next set of Impact tapings and for that reason, their scheduled flights were canceled. What makes this story odd is that the two talents that were relieved of appearing on either the PPV or the next set of tapings were involved in a slow build storyline that is now being scrapped. The two talents that have been removed from the tapings are Lance Hoyt and Christy Hemme. Before rumors begin circulating around the internet, sources have indicated that this was not done as a punishment due to some of the rumors that circulated last week about Hoyt and the WWE. What GERWECK.NET has learned is that Taylor had informed both talents that it was simply for budget reasons. Why are they killing the slow build program between VKM and the combination of Hoyt and Hemme? No reasons in particular at this point, but it appears the program has been abandoned. We can confer however that this duo is scheduled to appear at the next set of tapings. According to several wrestlers, it is believed that there is no "heat" on either of these TNA stars and they too have been told that there would be budget cuts made in several areas.
Konnan, when asked by a fan on his official MySpace page whether or not he had talked to Jeff Jarrett about returning to the company, replied with the following: "we talked once and i will never work for that racist jackass jeff jarrett."
Another fan asked about LAX's future in TNA and Konnan replied that they would never get what's due in TNA because "jeff jarrett is a racist."
