I would totally agree with Orton being in the line if the line was being produced now, but it just seemed weird at the time that one was released.

Seems to be a lot of CS talk lately so I thought I'd try and revive this thread one time.
Please discuss anything & Everything CS!! I'll start with an opener:
What was your most memorable CS purchase?

I have to say its my 1/100 Eddie Guerrero, but for all the wrong reasons.
I managed to get one for around £140 with free shipping which I wasn't expecting, so when it arrived after a week I was stoked. But, about a week after getting it I got a FedEx letter stating I owed them a shipping and handling charge of £60!
So that was my free shipping pretty much up in the air, ending up costing me instead of the sender. But, I was more than happy with the figure so I can't really complain.
That's mine.

Seing a lot of these CS posts brings be back!
My most memorable CS pick-up was CS 16. Picked these up during such an awesome time in my life. My wife and I were expecting our first child, I was working on a big project next town over to where we live, it was snowing, Christmas/Holiday season was in full swing, and a bunch of other things. My contact at my local KB had called and told me they set an entire box of CS 16 aside for me to pick thought! Got there and they were fresh out of the case.

That's a tough break dude, funny thing happened with me and CS 16 too. I recall going to TRU for a birthday gift for my girlfriend at the times little sister, I had not been allowed to purchase figures during this particular relationship, and It killed me seeing the entire set at TRU and not being able to purchase them out of fear of being laughed at.

Man that must have been hard. There have been times where I've seen a fresh case or something and I had only enough for like two figures. One of the few times it happened I had been at TRU and had seen both Briscos. I already had both MOC but I knew they'd become hard to find or sought after and I wanted a loose set, but I just didn't have the extra funds so I passed.

I was hoping for a "Skinner" figure so bad ... its a shame they never made alot of those names.
Hopefully Mattel will come thru with some of them!

What are your thoughts on wht the best classic set was? for me it's got to be series 3, give or take. I loved the undertaker figure when it first came out although I was pissed it was ttl, I never knew it was a re release as I didn't have internet at the time and just started collecting just after that smackdown set. Bret was the best th... You know. Warrior is fantastic, jake is pure gold and dibiase even came with money lol.
The worst set in my opinion was series 13. Never cared for any of the figures quite frankly.
Interested to hear you guys opinions.

Skinner is an easy custom job with that hairy Highlander and one of Malph's outfits.

I'm shocked to find that people still talk about, let alone collect Jakks. LOL

Look at the names, detail, and accessories each one came with. Ax, Smash, Warrior, DDP, Sherri, Backlund, Martel, Abdullah. It was an incredible set! Worst for me was CS 28. What it should have been to what it became, the half-ass paint jobs and odd attire choices, etc. Looking back, I wish JAKKS had simply beefed up CS 27 with Skaaland, Mulligan, Outback Jack, & some LJN-style and end the line. CS 28 just wasn't needed. I'm shocked to find that people still talk about, let alone collect Jakks. LOL There will always be people collecting the CS line.

Since i'm so new at collecting i must be unaware of any stigma relating to collecting CS Jakks.
I'm very much enjoying hunting some of the less stand out names in the collection.

A lot of the lesser names are some of the gems of the series

A lot of the lesser names are some of the gems of the series I have to agree, some of your "jobber classics" or lesser know are often favourites in the sets. I just got Rick Martel today from series 14, and while demolition and ultimate warrior are the big names in the set, martels quickly become my favourite.

It was definitely people getting their first ever figure that made me excited for hose guys. I was happy whenever a new face was made in the CS line, but for some guys it was also their first (and in several cases) and ONLY figure made of them. Guys like Ron Bass, Johnny Rodz, Ernie Ladd, Jack & Jerry Brisco, Bobby Eaton, Harvey Whippleman, etc.

Thanks alot for the list bro! No problem! I am hoping to post a series breakdown list soon. For a change of topic, aside from the actually purchase of a CS figure, what part did you guys get the most excited about: - New Name Signings - New Line-Ups - Proto Images or - MOC Images I think the MOC part was my favorite followed by learning of new line-ups.

I think my best purchase had to be CS1 Warrior as it was what got me started - I think i stumbled on it on play.com or something and then the bug bit! Shame i sold my 50+ figures when i moved in with my fiancee though. I thought she would think they were silly - and how wrong i was. Not only has she encouraged me to start collecting again but she asked me to get a Matt & Jeff Hardy for her as she liked them when she used to watch it with her brother. Makes me realise why im marrying her! Mind you i do come home from work to find them in silly positions - today Bret Hart & Mr Perfect were doing the wheelbarrow I have about 30 figures again now and i've been building it back up in the last 2 months. Just a shame Mattel dropped the ball though and discontinued the line - its bad enough trying to get a hold of them in the UK. But i guess my favorite from my current collection is the online .com exclusive flair (With black/silver robe). Good to be back on here again though!

Glad to hear of another CS collector back in the fold. Funny to read about you, your fiancee, and wrestling figures! Its awesome when your significant other is supportive! My wife is great with my collection! CS 1 Warrior seems to be one of the major figures that drew back older collectors into the mix! It was the same figure that drew me in! Its sad that neither of the two major wrestling figure producers are making a legends line. I'm biased and would prefer JAKKS LOTR line to continue.
