Cloth would be better but Mattel likes making it with rubber.

Ric Flair is rumored to be coming back to WWE when his TNA contract expires at the end of the year.
Apparently he had so much fun and was treated so well during Wrestlemania weekend that he remembered how awesome and first class WWE is that it made him really feel like he'd be welcomed back to WWE.
I for one feel that Ric Flair should not be degrading himself and his legacy in TNA in an amusement park in front of 750 people. Ric Flair is a legend and he belongs in WWE. Not as a wrestler, but there is something he could be doing in WWE that would be good for him and good for the company, I'm sure of it.
Ric Flair's figures, if and when they are made by Mattel, SHOULD be cloth. But as with Mattel, it all boils down to budget. If there are other figures in that particular series that require a lot of accessories, he'll likely get the plastic one.
Mattel really went all out on Morrison's coat in Series 4, so we know that if they are willing to spend that they can do SPECTACULAR work.

Plastic only because it would be MUCH more detailed.

I absolutely want a cloth robe for Flair, however I'm sure it'll be a plastic one if we get a Mattel WWE Flair. I just wish they'd make it out of a softer plastic this time... the Goldust robe is such a pain to get off and on.

If Ric Flair were to ever get a mattel figure, it's pretty much given that he will come with a robe... Would you rather see his robe made of plastic, like Goldust and Regal's robes or cloth, like Jakks Ric Flair robes? Jakks had enough cloth robes. I would like to see a hard robe. If William Regal couldn't get a cloth robe I don't want Flair to have one. That and the plastic robes look really nice like on Goldust. Mattel has a nice formula and they should stick with it.

I absolutely adore the plastic robes. And I would love to have a plastic Flair robe with the same amount of detail we have in Goldust's & Regal's.
So my vote easily goes to plastic.

Should be cloth. I didn't buy a Elite Goldust because of the dumb rubber robe. Had he come with a cloth robe, instant buy for me!

Oh, plastic, hands down.
It would allow for far more realistic jewels, sequins, feathers, and so forth. They nailed it with Goldust, and plastic robes are what Mattel is great at. I'd be really disappointed if it was just a cheap looking fabric thing.

Gotta go cloth on that one. I believe Mattel'd step up on a Flair elite and do him right.

If you wanna be fair to Flair... Either works for me as I won't be buying a Flair, more than happy with my Jakks green Nature Boy. Woooooooo!

WOOOO if ya want to style and profile like Slick Ric, then daddy, there's only one way to go and that's fine silk and sequins. And baby the only way ya gonna get that on plastic is when your using your credit card! Woooooo! (In case you didn't get my message, its got to be cloth)

I generally prefer the plastic clothing but this is a perfect example of cloth being better.

I feel like cloth would be better for Flair. His figures have always looked good in cloth robes.
