Chris Jericho recently did an interview on the red carpet at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. During the interview he said his current WWE run will finish up prior to SummerSlam.
Jericho said the reason is because of his band Fozzy and their plans. The band is schedule to release new music by the end of August and they will be touring as well.

I don't really mind. I haven't enjoyed his current run as much as I should have.

It was expected. I'll be sad to see him go, but oh well.

This is terrible, Y2J fans kill all of his band members so he's forced to stay on WWE!

He hasn't really don't much in this run that would make me miss him like I did last time he left but I'm still a huge Jericho fan so I'll support whatever he does

I don't really mind. I haven't enjoyed his current run as much as I should have. Hate to say it, but you're right. His return this year has been lackluster. He lost a ton of steam when he lost the Royal Rumble.

kind of surprising actually...i know Jericho has said he wants to keep Fozzy & the WWE as 2 separate things, but it sucks he has to keep coming back and leaving like this. However maybe in the bigger picture its a good thing.
Its like he gets to entertain in wrestling for some time, then get time off so he's not constantly beat up. These "vacations" Jericho has taken have probably prolonged his career.

I expect he'll come back again a few months later.

If this is true, I don't really see the point of bringing him back unless he wins the title from Punk (and loses it back a month or two later) before he leaves.

Can't say I'm all that surprised, but it's a little disappointing.

Oh I have an idea. What if Wade Barrett wins money in the bank while Jericho is champion, and cashes it in on his NXT1 Mentor leading to him fueding with Punk into the Fall.

all you idiots saying his run has been "lackluster" this feud hasn't even played out yet and he put on a superb match at Mania. What else do you want from the guy? I'm glad we're getting him till Summerslam, i thought he planned on leaving much sooner. I'm grateful he's back, he obviously didn't have to come back.

I figured this would be the case. Perfectly fine with it though. Next time he returns (if there is a next time) he needs to just return out of nowhere. No vids or anything.

I've enjoyed his return, he'll probably come back shortly after his other stuff is wrapped up.
