But he was one of the coolest people I've ever met. A true class act. He will be missed around here for sure. I'd like to think my little guy cried because he'd love to have him back next season ;D -ORIGINAL POST - Just met Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He took the time to goof off with my kid. Such a cool guy. I know that UK fans are few and far between here, but he'll belong to one of your cities soon enough come draft time. . He's a great addition to wherever he ends up. And yep, my kid has on a Hulkamania onesie

I met him at Lexington Sports Cards. I honestly have no idea how long he was there. I got there at 4:30 and got to meet Terrence Jones first. Jones signed my Sports Illustrated National Championship Commemorative issue. Now I gotta get Anthony Davis and Doron Lamb to sign it. The Jones signing was a little rushed. But he was supposed to only be there from 5-6 and he stayed until 7:30 inside the building and then even came out and signed for more people outside until probably 8. Gilchrist was scheduled until 9. He got there a little early but didn't go in until 7. I got to him around 8:40. The lines were huge. I tell ya, these people around here are absolutely insane for our team. Gilchrist's line probably still had 200-300 people in it when I left around 8:45

Very cool you got to meet all those players, surprised that some stayed longer this scheduled as I'm sure they have a very busy day approaching. But I'm glad you had a good little trip out to Lexington Sports Cards. Thanks for sharing

Always liked Kentucky since my boys Toine and Mercer and my boy Wayne Turner, Sucka probably the only one who knows who he is...were there. So I like to follow them time to time.
MKG seems like he could be a superstar in the NBA if things break right

Anyways glad you got the chance to head out and met Anthony Davis, he seems like a great guy. Anthony appeared to be very shy and maybe even overwhelmed with the amount of people who show up for these things. But he was very humble and seemed to be happy to be doing it. He's already been pumping money into the local childrens hospital. An NBA team and city are about to get a very classy young man.

As for the shyness, I'm sure its rather typical for anyone including athletes to be shyness at events such as these. I know I am when I go out to autograph signings.

Anytime he's around anyone really tall with a deep voice he gets freaked out. The first time I ever saw him cry because someone else was holding him was when my friend CJ held him. As soon as he spoke my kiddo started wailing. It took us a bit to realize that it has to do with tall people with deep voices. I thought that perhaps with Anthony seated it wouldn't be a big deal, but then when you consider that the dude is probably chin level with me in a seat he still comes across as a big dude. As soon as he said "Hey little guy" in his deep voice my kid lost himself. It was a pretty funny moment. Everyone in the room cracked up.

I kinda hope he goes to Charlotte, that team needs something to save itself.
Him on Detroit would be craziness, as well as other possible destinations but Charlotte legit needs someone or they should be contracted.

I gotta say that I hope Davis goes to the Wizards. It would be a cool thing to see two very young UK guys on a team together in John Wall and Anthony Davis. But besides that fact, Wall has absolutely nobody around him to help him show how good he can and will eventually be in the NBA and it really showed this past season. Add a big man like Davis that can handle a pass and put some points up and block shots and it could be the beginning of a turn around for that team. Charlotte, on the other hand, just seems like a hopeless option though the chances of them getting the #1 pick make it likely that that's where he'll end up.

I'd be okay with Washington too, they need some help to stop being a disgrace.
Detroit would be a contender sooner than others, which is why I dont want him there.

I'd imagine he may need to put on a little more bulk to do well in the NBA, but then again, I said that he would need to to be dominant in college this year and that seemed to work out well.
