Thursday, April 19, 2012We see a recap of Lockdown including Roode’s successful title defense over James Storm.
We go to the Impact Zone where Mike Tenay and Taz preview James Storm’s first words since Lockdown for later tonight. Hulk Hogan’s music hits in the arena and Hogan makes his way down to the ring.
Hogan grabs a microphone. He says that Lockdown was a huge success. He says that he couldn’t be happier knowing that Eric Bischoff isn’t in Impact Wrestling anymore. Hogan says that due to injuries he suffered at Lockdown, Booby Roode couldn’t be here tonight. Hogan continues on to say that change is coming to Impact Wrestling. He first wants to address the X-Division Championship. He announces a tournament to determine the new #1 Contender for Austin Aries’ title. He then addresses the Knockout’s Championship. He says that due to Gail Kim’s cheating ways, Velvet Sky has earned a rematch for the title, tonight. Hogan then turns his attention to the Tag Team Titles. He notices how Joe/Magnus have destroyed every team put in their way. He announces that every week, Joe and Magnus will face a team randomly put together in a non-title match and if the new makeshift team can win that match, they will be #1 Contenders. Hogan brings up the TV Title and how Devon was attacked by Rob Terry at Lockdown. Hogan says that Devon sustained several injuries and will be on the shelf, so Hogan has to vacate the title. Hogan then addresses the World Heavyweight Championship. Hogan states that somehow Roode retained his title at Lockdown and there’s nothing he can do about it. Hogan says to determine the new #1 Contender, there will be a Gauntlet match, later tonight. Hogan says that more change is coming, but the fans are just gonna have to wait and see what comes next.
We see Velvet Sky walking backstage, her title match is next! **Commercial**We return and Tenay previews James Storm’s first words since Lockdown, for later tonight. Gail Kim vs. Velvet Sky (Knockout’s Title)The match mirrored their Lockdown encounter. Gail Kim controlled the majority of the match. Sky started to comeback, but Gail Kim rolled her up in similar fashion to Lockdown, but Velvet kicked out this time. Gail Kim went for a Crossbody from the top rope, but Velvet moved and Gail took out the referee. Velvet managed to hit Gail with the In Yo’ Face, when Madison Rayne ran down to the ring. Madison got on the apron, but Velvet took her out with a punch. Velvet turned around and Gail Kim hit her over the head with the title. The referee woke up and counted the three for Gail Kim.Winner: Gail Kim (4:32) Madison got in the ring then her and Gail continued to beat down Velvet Sky. All of a sudden, Tara’s music hits and Tara runs down to make the save. Madison and Gail hightailed out of the ring and Tara picked Velvet up. Velvet begins to yell at Gail and Madison, but Tara turns her around and lays Velvet out with the Widow’s Peak. Gail and Madison look shocked, as does the crowd. Tara stands over Velvet, staring at her lifeless body. Backstage we see Kazarian. The cameraman asks him about his upcoming match in the X-Division tournament. Kazarian says that tonight he will break out of his shell. He says that for too long he has gone without a single title match. He says that he’s glad Hogan made this tournament and that he will stop at nothing to win it. He continues on to say that there is nobody that can stop him from winning, when Christopher Daniels walks in. Daniels seems insulted by Kazarian’s comments. Daniels says that he can make or break Kazarian and that Kazarian better do the right thing, if he and Daniels ever meet in the ring. Daniels leaves and Kazarian looks upset.**Commercial**Kazarian vs. Alex Shelley (#1 Contender Tournament)A great, back-and-fourth bout. Kazarian used a poke to the eyes of Shelley to gain him the advantage. Kazarian continued to control the match until Chris Sabin came down to the ring, which brought out Christopher Daniels. Sabin distracted Kazarian and Shelley took advantage. Shelley went to the top for a Frog Splash, but Daniels got on the apron. Daniels talked smack to Shelley, which allowed Kazarian to pull him off the top rope. Sabin walks over and pulls Daniels off of the apron. Daniels and Sabin begin to brawl, which distracts Kazarian. Kazarian turns around and Shelley connects with a Sliced Bread for the win. Winner: Alex Shelley (6:48) Shelley and Sabin celebrate as they walk up the ramp, while Kazarian looks furious in the middle of the ring.
Backstage we see Garett Bischoff walking, he’s coming out next!**Commercial** Garett Bischoff comes out to the ring and grabs a mic. He says that he is so happy to have pinned his own father at Lockdown. He says that his dad is finally out of his hair. Just then, Ric Flair and Gunner come out onto the stage. Flair says that Garett is nothing more than a disrespectful son of a *****. Garett says that if Flair and Gunner have something to say then why don’t they come down to they ring to say it. Gunner and Flair get in the ring and corner Garett. Gunner and Flair are about to pounce, when Matt Morgan runs down to the ring. Morgan attacks Gunner and throws him out of the ring. Morgan turns his attention to Flair, who begs for mercy. Flair turns away to run from Morgan and gets caught with a low blow from Garett. Morgan raises Garett’s hand as Flair gets pulled out of the ring by Gunner.
Backstage we see Joe and Magnus. The cameraman asks them about the new team they will be facing tonight. Joe says that no matter who they face, no matter what team Hogan throws at them, they will win. Joe says that there is one thing he and Magnus know they can do, and that’s win. Magnus says that they are without a doubt the best team in Impact Wrestling. Magnus says that tonight, they will not only beat their opponents but destroy them. **Commercial**Samoa Joe & Magnus vs. Zema Ion & D’Angelo DineroIon and Joe starting things off with Joe using his power to control the speedy Ion. Later in the match, Dinero was the one controlling the pace against Magnus. Joe & Magnus used their tag team experience to control Dinero and Ion. Joe sent Ion to the outside. Dinero tried to fight off both men at once, but failed. Joe hit the Snapmare followed by Magnus’ Elbow Drop for the win.Winners: Samoa Joe and Magnus(5:06)Joe and Magnus celebrate with their titles.
Backstage we see Matt Morgan and Garett Bischoff. The cameraman asks about the alliance. Morgan says that he sees a future in this kid. Morgan says that Garett showed him something at Lockdown, entering first in the Lethal Lockdown match. Morgan says that he is only here to have Garett’s back when it comes to a number’s game situation. Morgan says that he knows Garett can get the job done in the ring. Morgan says that he is proud of Garett and knows that he can accomplish great things in Impact Wrestling.
Tenay and Taz preview James Storm’s first words since Lockdown, and it’s next!**Commercial**James Storm comes down to the ring with his head held low. Storm grabs a mic. He says that he can’t help but feel like he let all the fans down at Lockdown. He says that all he had to do was take the title off of Roode and he couldn’t get the job done. Storm says that he failed. He says it nearly killed him to tell his daughter that he didn’t win the belt at Lockdown. Storm says that he knows he didn’t win the title, but he says that he was the one that walked out on his own power. He says that Roode had to leave in an ambulance. Storm says that that loss isn’t going to keep him down. He says that that loss is only adding fuel to the fire. Storm says that he can’t wait for Roode to get back next week, only so he can kick his a**. Storm says that tonight, he is going to win that Gauntlet. He says that tonight, he will become #1 Contender and he says that at Sacrifice, he will become the new World Heavyweight Champion! **Commercial** We see a video from earlier in the day, it's ODB and Eric Young in their locker room. ODB says that she is proud that EY didn’t succumb to the temptations of Sarita and Rosita. Young says that he is a one-woman man, and that one woman is ODB. Just then, there is a knock at the door. Hogan comes in and says that change is in the air. Hogan says that while Sting may have allowed Eric Young to compete for a Knockout’s title, he won’t let it stand. Hogan says that while he is a big fan of Eric Young, he is not a woman. Hogan says that Eric Young has officially been stripped of his Knockout Tag Title and ODB better find a replacement partner by next week. Hogan leaves as ODB and Eric Young look disappointed.
Backstage we see Crimson. The cameraman asks him about his match from Lockdown. Crimson says that he knew he would beat Matt Morgan. He says that the crowd knew he was going to beat Matt Morgan. He says that the undefeated streak is still alive and kicking. Crimson says that he will remain unbeaten for a long, long time. Hogan walks up from behind Crimson. Hogan says that while he is very impressed by Crimson and his streak, Hogan says that he has been contacting some people and that Crimson’s streak will truly be put to the test. Hogan says that once every month, Crimson will face a talent outside of the Impact Wrestling roster. Hogan says that if that wrestler can end the undefeated streak, then they get an Impact Wrestling contract. Hogan then tells Crimson that he will face an one of the talents, next week!**Commercial**Angelina Love vs. Mickie JamesMickie James started the bout coming full force at Love. Mickie was very dominated over Love until Love slid to the outside. ODB came out onto the stage, it appears as though she is scouting for a tag partner. Angelina was in the driver’s seat after Mickie was distracted by ODB’s presence. Love had Mickie in the corner, but James countered out of it with a Head Scissors. Love got to her feet and Mickie connected with the DDT for the three.Winner: Mickie James (4:17)ODB gave Mickie a thumbs-up, as James celebrated on the turnbuckle.
Tenay and Taz preview the Gauntlet match, and it’s next!**Commercial** Gauntlet Match1.Bully Ray 2.Jeff HardyBully and Hardy start the Gauntlet match. Bully uses his power to overcome Hardy. Hardy still looks weak from Lockdown and Bully is taking advantage. 3.Mr. Anderson Anderson hits the ring and goes right after Bully. Hardy lays in the corner resting, while Anderson and Bully go at it.4.Gunner Gunner comes out next and he and Bully begin to double team Anderson. Hardy tries to get to his feet, but Gunner stomps him back down into the mat. Anderson attacks Gunner form behind, but Bully catches Anderson with a Big Boot.5.RVDRVD enters and takes out Bully with a kick to the face. Gunner attacks RVD with punches and knees, but RVD counters out and slams Gunner to the mat. RVD runs off the ropes and hits Gunner with Rolling Thunder. RVD helps Hardy to his feet and the two begin to double team Bully. 6.AJ StylesStyles comes in and almost immediately throws Gunner over the top rope, eliminating him.Gunner is eliminated.Styles and Anderson begin to fight while RVD and Hardy have Bully leaning on the ropes.7.Kurt AngleAngle rushes in and hits Hardy with an Angle Slam. Angle picks up Hardy and throws him over the top rope. Jeff Hardy is eliminated. Styles and Angle begin to brawl as Anderson tries to help RVD eliminate Bully. Final Entrant: James StormStorm enters like a house of fire and delivers a Superkick to Anderson, Bully, and RVD. Storm picks up RVD and throws him over the top.RVD is eliminated. Storm picks up Anderson and throws him over. Mr. Anderson is eliminated.Storm, Styles, Angle, and Bully all back into a corner. The final four men stare down.**Commercial**We return as Styles has Angle on the top turnbuckle. Styles goes for a Frankensteiner, but Angle grabs Styles’ legs, hops off the turnbuckle, and locks in an Ankle Lock. Styles rolls out of the hold and Angle get thrown right into a Last Call from Storm, who then throws him over.Kurt Angle is eliminated.Bully comes over and attacks Storm from behind. Bully hits Storm with several big punches in the corner. Styles grabs Bully’s shirt and throws him over the ropes, but Bully lands on the apron. Bully tries to Suplex AJ to the outside, but instead brings him out onto the apron as well. AJ and Bully exchange punches on the apron when Storm hits Styles with the Last Call, sending AJ flying.AJ Styles is eliminated.Bully manages to get back into the ring. Storm goes to pick Bully up, but gets hit with a low blow. Bully starts to show off while Storm is grounded. Bully tries to pick up Storm, but he himself gets hit with a low blow. Storm throws Bully onto the ropes. Storm hits him with a Last Call and Bully begins to teeter on the top rope. Storm goes over to eliminate him but out of nowhere, Bobby Roode hops into the ring and throws James Storm over. James Storm is eliminated.Winner: Bull Ray (14:46)Storm looks furious. Bully gets up and celebrates with Roode. Storm goes over to SoCal and picks up his beer bottle. Roode runs out of the ring, but Storm hits Bully over the head with it. Storm gets on the turnbuckle and begins to yell at Roode, who is standing in the crowd. Storm grabs a mic and says, that Roode better hope and pray that he doesn’t get to him next week, or it will be Roode’s last night on earth!
