WASHINGTON - April 9After the video package played, RAW Supershow began with permanent RAW General Manager John Laurinaitis stood in the ring with a clipboard in hand. He said that he wanted to introduce the WWE Universe to the 'new face of WWE' who will 'legitimise' the company, Brock Lesnar!
Lesnar came out to a massive reaction from the ring, snatching the microphone from John Laurinaitis! He said that it was about time he came back did what he did best, kick ass and own every loser in the Locker Room! He said he wasn't surprised WWE has John Cena as its poster-boy: he's less of an asskicker, and more an asslicker! He said that he was the man around here, and its that time again! Laurinaitis then showed the crowd the clipboard, with another microphone in hand, said that he had a 'very lucrative' contract for Mr. Lesnar to sign right now. But then, more music, as Triple H made his way down to the ring, and took the contract from Laurinaitis and walked back up the stage without saying a word! Standing at the top of entrance way, he held up the contract and tore it in two, then walked backstage leaving the WWE Universe reeling as we head to a commercial break!
commercial breakIn the backstage area, Josh Matthews tried desperately to get a word with Triple H, the COO refusing to cooperate with the reporter's demands! Josh sent the live feed back to ringside, where the commentators Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler announced tonight thanks to John Laurinaitis and 'People Power' there is a blockbuster three title matches for the WWE Universe to enjoy, as Sheamus defends his gold against Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk again faces Mark Henry with his WWE Championship on the line, and WWE Tag Team Championship action right now!
R-Truth & Kofi Kingston def. Epico & Primo to WIN the WWE Tag Team Championships!A fast paced encounter here as Truth and Kingston, a team who formed shortly before Wrestlemania, took the fight to Epico & Primo. The commentators explained that Kingston wanted this match as he never cashed in his championship rematch due to an injury Evan Bourne sustained. After months of petitioning for a chance to do so, however, Kingston came up trumps after holding onto the ropes as Primo went for the Backstabber, and striking hard and fast with Trouble In Paradise when he got up to capture the gold!
Kingston and Truth celebrated the victory, Kingston going to the top rope as Truth gave 'Little Jimmy' high fives, Kingston laughing at his friend and tag team partner. The two went to the back as the camera went to the Doctor's room.
WWE Champion CM Punk held the back of his head as a WWE Doctor said that he was OK to compete tonight in his WWE Championship match. The commentators questioned whether his physical wellbeing matched his mental state after Chris Jericho's heinous attack last week.
commercial breakThe WWE Locker Room stood by to congratulate the newly crowned Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth following their title win. However, Vickie Guerrero spoiled the party, announcing she had just brokered a deal with John Laurinaitis to give the two their first title defense, as they will face her two clients, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, with the Tag Team Championships on the line next week!
In the office of John Laurinaitis, Brock Lesnar was throwing a fit of rage! Trashing the room, he demanded Laurinaitis draw up another contract, at which point security turned up to inform them that Lesnar has to be escorted from the building. Outraged, Lesnar refused, but the security explained that Triple H had demanded Lesnar leave immediately! Lesnar smirked, throwing his hands in the air, walking out with the security, the commentary crew confused as to what Triple H was doing!
Lord Tensai def. Mason RyanThe equally giant Mason Ryan should've proved a hard task for Tensai - but he didn't. Tensai was equally as dominant as he was against Alex Riley last week, and cut down the Welsh superstar with a variety of strikes before dropping him with a sit out chokebomb. The referee called an end to the barbaric match, but Tensai wasn't done - he spewed the Green Mist like last week and locked in the Claw on the head of Ryan, leaving the massive superstar out cold on the canvas.
In the back, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus was being interviewed by Josh Matthews. Matthews asked whether Sheamus had his mind on his match, or how he was going to pay his massive half a million dollar fine for his attack on a referee last week! He said that he deeply regrets the incident and is sorry to all of the WWE's officials, but says he has a hard time keeping his temper in check. But he says tonight, any Irish ire will be unleashed on Alberto Del Rio! Teddy Long then came by, saying he had the unfortunate responsibility of informing Sheamus that should lay hands on an official ever again, he will be fired! Sheamus said that he can tell Mr. Laurinaitis that he will never do that again, before wishing Long well and heading off to his match which is up next!
commercial breakSheamus def. Alberto Del Rio to RETAIN the World Heavyweight Championship by countoutIt looked as if Sheamus was to lose his Championship gold tonight after a failed attempt at the High Cross saw Sheamus' arm dropped onto the top rope. Sheamus rolled to the outside, and whilst he was down, Del Rio went to work on the arm, slamming it into the ringpost and locking in the Cross Armbreaker. With the ref counting down, Del Rio rolled the champ back in, but a fan in a hooded jacket grabbed at him, refusing to let go! Del Rio turned around, trying to get away, but had a bottle of water splashed in his face, Del Rio falling back and getting counted out!
As Sheamus rolled out of the ring, the fan pulled down his hood, revealing himself to be Rey Mysterio! The Masked Magician then hopped over the barricade, and onto the ring apron, waiting for Del Rio to get up before hitting a seated senton! Ricardo Rodriguez rushed over, trying to help his employer, as Mysterio went backstage to a huge hand from the crowd! Video packages then played, first for Be A Star, then for Don't Try This At Home. Commercials followed this.
commercial breakAlberto Del Rio was fuming after his match as Ricardo tried to mop him with a towel, Del Rio pushing him down as he yelled at John Laurinaitis, demanding a match with Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules! Laurinaitis granted the request, and made the match a Strap Match so that Rey couldn't run away like he did tonight! He also demanded a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, but Laurinaitis said he would have to think about that, and that Del Rio should come and find him Friday night on SmackDown! to see if he can have another shot.
R-Truth and Kofi Kingston, the new WWE Tag Team Champions, were grabbed for an interview by Scott Stanford. Stanford congratulated them on the win, and R-Truth took the mic, saying he had one person to thank - Little Jimmy! Then, Truth looked shocked, screaming that he could see Little Jimmy, the interviewer Stanford saying he couldn't see him, but Truth was insistent this time, taking the camera and turning it around, pointing the camera at Hornswoggle! Truth refused to believe it was anyone other than Hornswoggle, and chased him down a hallway, Hornswoggle looking frightened as he ran!
Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger def. Santino Marella & Zack RyderDolph and Swagger were out for a bit of vengeance after last week's embarrassing triple threat match loss to Santino as well as a tune-up before their title match next week against the new champs Truth and Kingston. The tune up was successful, as Jack Swagger caught 'Long Island Iced Z' as he went for the Rough Ryder and brought him down in the Ankle Lock for the victory!
As Justin Roberts went to announce them as winners, Vickie demanded he change what he intended to say, and announce the two as 'your next WWE Tag Team Champions, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger!'
commercial breakJosh Matthews grabbed Rey Mysterio for a word, asking how it felt to be back! Mysterio said that Del Rio was malicious; he cost him nearly eight months of his career out of spite after winning the match, and he was back now for one thing only: revenge! He says at Extreme Rules, he's going to enjoy getting his own back on Del Rio and ending their feud once and for all!
Cody Rhodes def. The Great KhaliCody called this match practice for Extreme Rules according to the commentary team, who say he's demanded a match to eradicate the memory of his embarrassing loss at Wrestlemania! Cody finished off Khali with a Beautiful Disaster.
John Cena then pulled up backstage in a car - the commentary team say he will be out to speak about his encounter with Brock Lesnar next!
commercial breakJohn Cena made his way out to his usual huge (albeit mixed) reaction following the break. In the ring, he said that he never got his answer from The Rock last week, and should Rock ever feel like coming out and shaking his hand like a good sport, the offer is there! He says however, everybody wants to hear what he has to say about Brock Lesnar - he admits that he has been shaken by the last two weeks of his career: the loss to Rock, and the F5 by Lesnar - but he's never backed down from a fight, and if thats what Lesnar should want with him, its what he'll get! He's going to move on now, and says that having hit what he calls, no pun intended, rock-bottom, he's going to try to and move on. He then leaves the ring, as Randy Orton passes him by on the entrance way as he makes his way out for his match next!
Randy Orton def. Drew McIntyreA short match here between these two. Drew was his usual overconfident self, as Orton capitalised on a costly error of Drew's to drop him the RKO to win!
Orton grabbed a mic after the match, and said that things were now one a piece between them and he wanted to settle things once and for all! Kane appeared on the big screen, muffled screams heard in the background as the camera panned over to a tied up Bob Orton! With a pipe in hand, Kane said it looked like his father was cast a part in his son's torment, and whacked him in the head with pipe! Kane then pointed the pipe at the camera, and said that Orton overcoming him was just a pipedream, the Big Red Monster in a strange mood as ever as he laughed maniacally at the camera!
In the locker room, Mark Henry was sat, ready for his WWE Championship match next. Abraham Washington came in, patting Henry on the back, saying that 'A-Wash' wanted to help his brother Mark Henry out and advise him on his match tonight! Henry got up and walked away, saying that he won the World Championship on his own, and he will again. And to top it off, the Hall of Pain will get its next inductee!
CM Punk was seen walking towards the ring - his WWE Championship is on the line in the main event, next!
commercial breakPunk spoke before his title match, saying that Chris Jericho's act of covering him with alcohol and smashing the bottle over his head on last week's Raw has unsettled him. Before Punk could speak any more, Jericho interrupted him, mocking Punk for getting so emotional over experiencing his first bender. He says Punk is just like his Father, and there's many more happy Brooks family moments to come now that he's embraced the family hobby! Punk was enraged, saying Jericho is only making the inevitable ass-kicking he's going to get worse! Before any more could be said, Mark Henry emerged for the main event!
Mark Henry def. CM Punk by disqualification; Punk retains the WWE ChampionshipPunk was fired up by Jericho's words, and it really showed here. It was a short contest because Punk boiled over and exploded on Mark Henry, grabbing a chair and whacking the World's Strongest Man several times, dropping him with that instead of wrestling the match!
Punk tried to calm down, but then Jericho made his way out to the ring, and distracted Punk! Mark Henry was up, and dragged the chair out Punk's hands, hitting him with it! With Punk hurt, Henry then took advantage, nailing the World's Strongest Slam!
Jericho seized the opportunity to ambush Punk - with six-packs of beer in hand. Jericho broke open can after can of beer, with Punk unable to defend himself, he was soaked with the alcohol. All the while, Jericho continued to taunt Punk, urging him to "have some more" and "be like Daddy". Jericho posed with the WWE Championship, shouting that he was Best in the World as RAW Supershow ended on an unsettling note.
