At least she already knows how Chael prefers it...

Sonnen's coach is now requesting a rematch on the grounds that they believe Silva did in fact throw an illegal knee.

I finally got around to watching this fight today and it left me depressed. Was really pulling for Sonnen but he just got outclassed. I thought the knee was illegal when it happened but obviously it wasn't and it didn't have any affect on the outcome either way. Also sad Tito lost in his swan song.

What a complete over-hyped, waste-of time that fight was. Just re-name him Fail Sonnen. He'd better go to the back of the queue now. Sonnen clearly had nothing for Silva... Bisping would've put up a better fight than that - not to mention that the fight should've been his, anyway.

Chael took the first round hands down. Anderson came out in round two and pretty much said "we're done with that GnP sh**" and neutralized Sonnen long enough to make him go for an incredibly ridiculous spinning backfist. I think it was pretty decisive. He stopped Chael's main offense long enough to apply his precision striking effectively and pick up the win.

No way this knee was "illegal" or even intended as such.

No way this knee was "illegal" or even intended as such. If anything, Silva should dispute that blant low blow I see here.

The fact is that Anderson's upper-thigh did hit Chael in the face.
Whether or not it was enough to cause disorientation is another matter, but it IS an illegal strike.

That's being really nit picky. Rashad hit almost the exact same knee on Tito and no one said crap about his face getting hit by a thigh.

Yeah, I was going to say it was a VERY similar strike to what Evans threw on Ortiz, but of course no one mentions that because, well.... it's Tito.

just saw this on Sherdog. I don't watch wrestling anymore so maybe some of you already caught it last night on Raw.

Looking at it again, I don't even think his thigh hit Chael in the face. Chael pretty much had his face guarded when the knee was thrown. It just doesn't even really look close to me.

People are trying so hard to taint Anderson's victory. If it's not about the knee, it's about the shorts grabbing. If it's not about the shorts grabbing it's about the vasoline. Funny we don't hear Chael making any excuses this time around, but everyone and their mother is trying to say that Silva didn't win fairly.

Holy crap, I didn't even make the connection the other night. hows how close I was watching the WWE match, eh? That's awesome but kinda odd to do since Chael and Punk seem to be friends.

the only thing i found worth speculation was seagul's responses to some questions before the match in an interview where he states that certain moves they thought were illegal can be possibly legal if used in certain ways, but he wouldn't specify on if it was holds or striking. obviously it's pretty unrealistic to think that silva intentionally dropped that knee at an angle that would've been believed for the chest but landing on the face instead, but that interview was just quite the coincidence.
