Trap out is all i can say, we gifted spain all there goals, tough to swallow when the manager leaves a whole bunch of better players at home

Ireland's start to the Game really didn't help them. I thought they did a pretty good job the first half if you take away that first Torres goal, they held a good deep line that made it difficult for the Spanish to get through. The problem was that they didn't do enough when they had the ball, and the front men hardly came deep to pick it up.
Second half was just a matter of when not if, and as soon as the second goal went in you knew it was Game over. Xavi was pure class last night too, think he only missed about 6 of his passes out of about 130. Torres was sharp too.

Holy crapthat was insane, I almost died about four times during this match. Walcott was absolutely phenomenal and Welbeck and Carroll's finishes were class.

Hopefully taht teaches us not to sit back as soon as we take the lead. The interesting question now is whether Carroll or Wellbeck partners Rooney against Ukraine. I'm gonna guess Wellbeck shades it because of their club partnership and the fact that he started the first game.

FINALLY, England are involved in an entertaining match for the first time in many years. Thought we had blown it at 2-1, and I still thought Sweden might nick an equilizer at the end, but pleased we held out for the win. COME ON ROY!

Felt like a typical classic England Tournament Match last night, England playing poor and making life extremely difficult for themselves. We seriously needed another man in the middle at times though, we just couldn't get on the ball. Thought Parker was brilliant last night, big result in the end.

Really? I had no time for Parker last night. I have to admit Glen Johnson has actually defended decently in this tourney so far, hats off to him for that. I still think Roy made a few bad selections in the squad but I'm impressed with his reign sofar.

I still think Roy made a few bad selections in the squad but I'm impressed with his reign sofar. Yeah he grafted well and wasn't caught out of position much. Thought Ashley Young was having a mare off the ball in the first half. He was constantly in the centre and when he got the ball he expected someone t be in his position on the wing, which meant Cole had to do the whole left flank by himself, and Lescott subsequently had to come over at left back, and then we left huge gaps. Definately needed an extra man in the middle of the park though. Raised my eyebrows when he brang Theo on for Milner, thought he should of took Welbeck off for Theo, moved Milner into the middle and Theo wide and gone 4-5-1, but we got two lucky goals on the break which made his changes look the world of good.

Well done to England, great game. Can never afford to get outplayed by such an average team again at times though.

Not entirely sure how Russia managed to screw that one up. Based on their first game they looked set to annihilate the group. Was not surprised the penalty appeal wasn't given, not so much that it wasn't a penalty.. but the fact that 16 games had been played prior and not a single penalty has been given must indicate something.
At least the game had a bit of humor with the Greek player getting stretchered off only to jog/hobble back on within seconds after haha.
Might as well await the bidding war for Alan Dzagoev.

Two horrendous matches today. A defeat for football fans everywhere; ing hate Greece, and the Czech Republic are not much better either.

Really enjoyed watching both Russia & Poland even if it was just for 2 or so games, shame they both won't be in the Quarters. God help us if Greece manage to win it again

Greece went through after W1 D1 L1 and that's how they got through the group stage in 04(If my memory serves me well)

Makes Ireland look even worse that Russia who topped our qualifying group couldn't get out of that crapgroup :/

Yeah a shocking night for Group A. Could never see past the Russians not getting at least a point against Greece who were lucky to still even be in the Tournament, but to lose and go out, who saw that one coming? Feel bad for the Pols too, they played some really good football at times, especially with the three Dortmund Players. I think they'll look back at the Greece Game as that was ultimately the one that cost them, they should of beat them by 3 or 4.
So, Greece to beat the Germans on Pens?

Holland have been sh*t all tournament, they deserve to be out. Ronaldo was good today (although a touch wasteful at times). Feel sorry for Denmark, although they still exceeded all expectations.

Germany should threaten to stop bailing Greece out over their financial crisis if they attempt to beat them.
