Its unrealistic that ECW.com would be posting news about signing talent etc but i'm planning on using it as more of a rumor site.

I'm not so sure that releasing Ulf Herman was the right call, he wasn't that good a worker but still very over with the crowd and contributing to the "garbage wrestling" side of ECW.

Friday, January 7th, 1999 From the ECW Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania
The show opens with a video highlighting the ECW roster. After the video Shane Douglas walks down to the ring holding a microphone. He tells the fans that Taz has been named number one contender for his ECW World Championship. Douglas says that Taz is not a worthy contender for his title. The music of Taz fills the arena and he walks down the ramp to the ring. He tells Douglas that they have a match tonight and that he will prove that hes worthy of taking Douglas's title. John Kronus Def. New Jack via Kronus Driver.Kronus nails new jack with a stiff boot to the gut, then hoists him up and nails him the Kronus Driver. He hooks the leg. 1..2..3. Kronus celebrates before the show goes to commercial. --Commercial Break-- The Dudley Boyz Def. Rob Van Dam and Sabu For the ECW World Tag Team Titles.Rob Van Dam climbs to the top rope but is nailed with a forearm to the back by Buh Buh and falls outside of the ring. With D-Von and Sabu in the ring Buh Buh enters the ring. D-Von throws Sabu to the ropes and he rebounds off. D-Von lifts him into the air as Buh Buh runs by. Buh Buh catches Sabu's neck and drives it into the mat. 3-D D-Von hooks the leg. 1..2..3. The Dudley Boyz celebrate in the ring holding the ECW World Tag Team Titles above there heads.
Shane Douglas is backstage with Joey Styles. Styles asks Douglas if he thinks Taz will be able to defeat him tonight. Douglas says that there is no chance. Douglas continues on mocking Taz. Douglas says that he will beat Taz tonight and any other time they meet. Douglas walks away from Styles and the show fades to commercial --Commercial Break-- Justin Credible and Steve Corino Def. Lance Storm and Chris CandidoLance Storm locks in the Canadian Mapleleaf on Steve Corino. Credible runs in and nails Storm with a Big Boot. Candido runs at Credible but is met with a Clothesline. Storm gets up and comes at Credible again. Credible kicks him in the stomach, lifting him onto his shoulders dropping him down and nailing him with a " That's Incredible". Corino jumps on top of Storm for the pin. 1..2..3. Credible and Corino quickly leave the ring and walk backstage smiling at Candido and Storm. Shane Douglas Def. Taz via low blow followed by the Pittsburgh Plunge.Taz steps behind Douglas and attempts to lock in the Tazmission, but Douglas throws his leg back and nails Taz between the legs. Douglas hooks his neck and leg and lifts him up. Douglas drops the mat and nails Taz with the Pittsburgh Plunge. Douglas runs out of the ring and up the ramp with his title, smiling as he goes. Taz gives Douglas a dirty look as he leaves. Paul Heyman steps onto the ramp way behind Douglas holding a microphone. Heyman announces next week we will see Shane Douglas defend the ECW World Championship against Taz! Shane Douglas's expression changes from happiness to anger as he starts yelling at Paul Heyman. He looks back to Taz in the ring, who is smiling at him. The show ends with Taz grinning at Douglas.

ECW Hardcore TV: Friday 7th January 1999...I loved this period in ECW, personally. Nice promo to kick off with Shane Douglas, should be interesting to see where this goes with Taz. I'm not sure if it would happen on the same show really, but we'll see. John Kronus beating New Jack, would have been an ugly bout. The Dudley Boyz win the ECW World Tag Team Championships from Rob Van Dam and Sabu? I'm pretty certain RVD and Sabu were heels as well here, so I'm not so positive. The more power to D-Von and Buh-Buh though, wiping clean the tag team division. Justin Credible and Lance Storm on opposing teams? Why? Didn't really like this match that much. Seemed quite thrown together. And lastly, Shane Douglas beating Taz was a nice main event I do suppose. Overall, I'm not that sure if the format for Hardcore TV was anything like this, it was more of a skit-style show, video package into undercard match into interview/promo, etc. Nothing too over the top, from what I recall anyway. Additionally, some stuff is very thrown together, such as the Impact Players facing off on opposing sides of a tag match, and also, try and incorporate your own actual writing, as opposed to copying and pasting from EWR results.
