Some issues with the paint lines (My brush wasn't fine enough, so my strokes were a bit wide on edging). Other than that, I'm pretty happy with my first attempt. FYI... there is some glare on the backside photo. The bright spots on the figure is glare, not paint. For the head, I tried to paint on the head dress (or whatever they call them in Iran)... but it looked funny and I would have had to sand off the ears for uniformity. Creating it out of fabric and twine was easier.

Looks alright, I see what you were going for with the spray painted NWO lettering effect. Just clean it up a bit and it will be fine. But Sheik in the NWO? No Thank You! Jeez how in the world would he ever get over Hulk Hogan leading the group?!

Jeez how in the world would he ever get over Hulk Hogan leading the group?! Ha HA HA. Thanks so much for posting. For real. I gotta be honest, I was really offended by the lack of comments. I prepared myself for negativity and then I got ZERO feedback. In all honesty, I did the nWo custom because I thought it would be easier given the colors and schematics of the figure. I tried to do a 2nd one with Bundy as Vader. Different limb position and colors... but it turned into crap. Bit off more than I could chew. My 2nd attempt turned out terribly. So bad that I washed it all off completely and scrapped the idea for now. Maybe I will work my way up to it... but for now I will keep my eye out for an easier project.

For a first custom, you did really well. Needs a little touching up, but you seem to have a great eye for keeping the paint smooth.
As for not getting much comments, it's a hit and miss board for the customs. Some people will get alot of comments and others won't. I've posted in the past with work and had little to no feedback on it. It's nothing against you, it's just people tend to view more than respond as some people who look at this board aren't even members.

I'd probably get more feed back if I tried some a bit "harder" or different. This was pretty easy/generic ... so not a lot to say about it perhaps.

Look bro KSE couldn't have said it any better about others' choice to reply/ not reply to the figs posted here. We pour so much time and effort into these things and I understand how you feel about not getting any love from the others, keep up the progression brother.

Stick with it man....I remember my first custom, looked like something a 7 year old did in art class.....sold for $11.00 on eBay, I considered that a win at the time. Definitely invest in some fine point brushes....when used properly they are more like using a pen and will give you some real nice accuracy as well as results. Great start though. As others have said this is a cool venue to display your work, there will always be haters, those who offer useful critique, and then those that don't seem to have a full comprehension of the English language; so don't get discouraged if you aren't getting any feedback.....if anything use it as inspiration to create something that people can't simply scroll by. Hope to see more from you in the future bro.....be well.

Hate seeing old figures used for customes, as it gives others similar bad ideas.
Attire is inaccurate, Shieky never was a member of the NWO, so that ruins it for me.
That being said, not bad for a first, is recommend trying to restore the LJNs rather than destroying them.

Let me ask you this though: If you liked the wrestler and WISHED he was around during the nWo days... wouldn't it be kind of cool for you to "see" him as a member of the nWo? I mean... if your favorite wrestler had never won the championship, by your logic... you could never put a belt on him, because it isn't accurate.

What type of paint works best on the LJN style of figures? I used "Americana" brand acrylic and a clear gloss afterwards.
