He was my favourite guy to watch in WWF 1998, and then he got injured two years later, he came back and seemingly just lost all of his skill.

I really thought they were gonna build him up to be the next Shawn Michaels style wrestler. I remember on a Raw in September 1998, where they had Billy tag up with Austin to wrestle Kane and Taker I believe. It seemed Billy had it going, but then they turned him heel, had him become Mr. Ass and then fed him to The Rock and that was the end of it.

I think Billy didn't reach his true potential because of a bad attitude and a drug problem. I seriously think he could have been world champion and one of the all time greatest if he had kept his head straight.
He's one of my all time favorites and easily in my top 10.

And in a period of wrestling when substance abuse was rife among the top tier roster I would have thought it would have been less of a factor in his rise when you consider the position Shawn Michaels had been in for what, five years, by the time Billy was at his most popular? I really feel like if he had been pushed when he was ready he'd be considered one of the best ever now because he had the skills on the mic and in the ring as well as having a great look and being around at the best period in terms of wrestling popularity. He could have been a multiple time champion and the face of SmackDown or Raw during the 00s.

I always enjoyed Billy Gunn. I thought he was extremely talented and never rightfully got what he deserved just like Test.

I was watching the Outlaw RF shoot from 2011, he pretty much said to vince "If you don't like it fire us, you aren't going to fire us we're the champs". Whereas Shawn would do anything Vince told him.

Was my favorite wrestler in WWF/E for years. I can remember going to Raw in 1999 and being really bummed out that they weren't selling the Mr. Ass shirt. I thought he was an amazing wrestler (still is) but they should have given him the Intercontinental Championship in 1999 when he was really over and not waited to give it to him in 2001. It still makes no sense to me why Road Dogg won the belt and walked into WM15 as champion while Billy was in the Hardcore Championship Match.

I never really liked him. I thought the Road Dogg was way more entertaining. I always thought Billy Gunn was overrated.

I thought after Billy Gunn won the King of the Ring tournament in 1999, Billy would definitely become a main eventer, maybe even a world champion. He had the Shawn Michaels stigma and potential. But Billy Gunn lacked something. I personally think he had no real connection with the fans, but whatever it was, a piece of the puzzle was missing. He'll always be remembered as a tag team specialist, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Look at all the tag team championships he's racked up with various partners! Billy Gunn should be considered one of the greatest tag wrestlers of all time.

You know, I always thought of BA Billy Gunn as a Main Eventer. After he won the KotR I thought for sure he should have hit it big. Personally i think if they had The Rock lose to Billy at SummerSlam it would have made Gunn, while at the same time doing nothing to hurt Rock's star power.
I think instead of pressing on moving Billy forward with his giant push, the Rock match killed Billy's built up heel heat, and then instead of rebuilding that heat they used Billy as a pawn for Triple H's build up.
Bad move in my opinion. Triple H didnt need DX to reform in order to become a major star, he was already there.

Ehh im not gonna say I was a huge Billy Gunn fan because honestly I wasnt. Out of everyone in DX I probably paid the least amount of attention to Billy. He was good in the ring and decent on the mic but I just was never really a huge fan.

Hey I was just wondering when Billy EVER wore yellow short tights? I'm referring to his Mr Ass attires. I've seen matches with him wearing white, green, pink, different shades of pink, black (only in his king of the ring), a turqoise colour but never yellow. Can anyone find a picture of him wearing yellow? Or any other colour for that matter.
