Yeah, I remember he wore them in a match with the Headbangers. Pretty sure it was at an In Your House in '98--I want to say Judgment Day.

I never really liked him. I thought the Road Dogg was way more entertaining. I always thought Billy Gunn was overrated. This X1000!!! |

I just remember the mesh see-through thong filth. I hated that attire. It even made it into Wrestlemania 2000 for N64.  |

Jakks toy company has to have made every outfit he wore but the thong one. Seems like evert month they were releasing the same figure mold with new colored shorts.

Billy had charisma and was above average in the ring, but I just never saw him as main event material. Even w/ his Mr. Ass gimmcik, feuding w/ The Rock, and having Torrie Wilson as his manager, he still couldn't get over. In the summer and fall of 1999 after Taker was hurt, Billy still wasn't even a top 2 heel in the company, as HHH, Bulldog, and Jarrett were all more over than him. The guy was cool but I think he made it as high on the card as he could.

basically JJ jumped ship with his pal Russo who tried getting him the big one TWICE with Vince......as undisputed head booker in WCW JJ knew Russo would get him there.
and yes JJ was more over than Gunn in the fall of 99.Gunns heel turn was a mess by the fall.
Ive also merged both Gunn threads.
