MMA isn't as world-wide as boxing is, man. It's really not. It's very evident.

I think he asked why there are so many non-white champions in boxing.

I saw the original question and was meaning to reply to this, so here goes. I said something similar to this to a friend of mine that's a huge boxing fan (was an amateur boxer back in the day) when I was discussing why I LMAO at Bob Arum's "white man sport" quip and most naysayers saying that MMA/UFC is a white man's sport. Think of it this way: although there's no champion at 125 yet, one of the two men that could be champion is Hispanic, and the other is black. The champion at 135 is Hispanic. The champion at 145 is Brazilian. The champion at 155 is Black. The champion at 170 is white. The champion at 185 is Brazilian. The champion at 205 is black. The champion at 265 is Brazilian. Obviously MMA is racist as all hell and dominated by racist white "AMERICA YEAH" rednecks, who gladly cheer the only white champion in the UFC right now... who's a ing French Canadian. Try a better argument next time. Yeesh.

Easy answer. Boxing is an inner-city sport, the inner city is typically populated with minorities, ergo a lot of boxers are minorities.
Boxing is a sport that doesn't require a lot of room, a lot of equipment, a lot of financial investment. It appeals to trouble young men, and it has a rich history of being developed in the poverty stricken neighborhoods of cities.
Affluent people have more options sports wise, financially are able to explore other sports, more room for fields, ice, etc. If you actually look throughout US history you'll see a correlation between the ethnicity of the lower class and the boxers of the time. Mid-20th century, Italian and Irish immigrants, 1970's-1990's African-Americans, 90's-present day hispanic.
Long story short, boxing is a sport that is simply more prevalent in more impoverished communities, and statistically these tend to be inhabited by minorities.
