Sting losing all his matches in the E would be the BEST thing for him to do. Due to his age having Sting go over young talent would suck and be stupid.
If Sting doesn't want to lose his one and only match then have him Wrestle some other guys, Sting vs Rock, Cena, HHH, Kane, Jericho, Brock, Austin, HBK, Orton etc would all be big matches and Sting could win AND lose some.
One day we have to see Sting vs Taker, It would seriously be one of those dream matches of this generation. We got Rock/Cena but Sting/Taker would seriously be a match we thought we'd never see, We thought we wouldn't see Rock/Cena but Sting/Taker is a match that we knew we wouldn't see. Hopefully it happens one day.

I'm with the very few others in saying I couldn't care less about the idea of a Sting/Undertaker match, or Sting's lack of desire to ever step foot in a WWE ring. That ship sailed years ago.

I do quite resent Sting for his choice to never come to the WWE. The deal they were making must not have been relating to money, as i'm sure they offered him more than he'd get working for TNA, he just chickened out that he would run the risk of not being a top dog and really, the only people to suffer from it were the fans. The dream matches he could have had in that time frame against Taker, HBK, HHH, Austin, Rock, Cena, Orton, Jericho, Guerrero, (while they were at the top) Lesnar, Edge etc, all because he was worried the ball would be dropped. To be fair, WWE only wants Sting to "feed" him to the Undertaker. We all know Taker isnt going to lose at Wrestlemania. So if Im Sting, a true top tier legend in pro wrestling, I would tell WWE if you want me doing a job on my first, and possibly only appearance in WWE...you're either gonna pad the hell out of my pockets OR you need to schedule me against someone else that I can go over. In no way shape or form should Stings first (and possibly only) match in WWE be a loss to The Undertaker. Exactly!

Instead, he decided to wrestle drunk Jeff Hardy.

Instead, he decided to wrestle drunk Jeff Hardy. Yeah, I like Sting a lot but I find him to be slightly hypocritical. He said he would never go to the WWE because it was too raunchy, violent and adult oriented, yet they have been PG for years now and but TNA is the one that is closer to that now more than the current WWE product. It makes no sense to me, why does he have to be so stubborn about making at least one appearance in the WWE?

While part of Sting's legacy is that he's the biggest star to never step foot in the WWE, it would be cool to see him walk out once on an episode of Raw. No match. Just walk out, let the crowd go crazy, and leave. Then accept a HOF induction and call it a career.
The only time I thought it would have been cool to see a Sting/Taker feud was in 97 when Sting was playing a dark character and Taker was in his prime as the Deadman. Besides for 97 Sting's character has always been a vibrant and charasmatic guy, so he really has been the opposite. Really besides that one year the only thing they have in common is that they were both loyal to their companies and are seen as the two greatest veterans still going. 10 years ago I'd have said lets see a match w/ them two, but not now. Just doesn't have the same appeal IMO and we all know who would be going over in the end.

Even if he did, it wouldn't have been as good as the lesser of the two matches with HHH. And I hated the first one.

You guys citing that Jeff Hardy match do realize that was over a year ago now, right? The guy is clearly a different performer at this point. It's really probably a non issue in the scheme of Sting's decision making.
Also, to call Sting's time in TNA 'tarnishing' is kind of silly. He's had some matches that are at the very least as good as some of his WCW matches. If you hate the company because it's the competition thats fine and it's even fine to say some of his matches there have been less than stellar but to say NONE of his TNA matches have EVER been any good is nonsense.
I'm with the crowd who thinks they're probably both just too old but if they were both able to perform at the level Taker did this Mania I'd be able to stomach it.
I'm also with the group that thinks it's pointless for Sting to come in just to put over Taker unless the guy truly doesn't care about that type of thing but he clearly seems to.

We arn't denying his matches have been good. It's the fact that he never had the balls to take the risk of coming to the WWE. To truely cement his legacy by having a match, at the biggest event in wrestling, with one of the greatest names in wrestling that he never faced. It didn't tarnish Sting, but he could have been in some far bigger fueds than he has gotten into in TNA. Taker, HBK, Austin, Rock and HHH, he could have faced off against all of them in high profile fueds, instead he wrestles to a much smaller crowd against less desirable names. No matter how good the matches are, because of the opponents he COULD have faced in WWE, the fans lose out. I agree it's probably too late for him now, but i'd love to see him in a WWE ring, even if just to accept an invite into the Hall of Fame.

I see what you're saying but I don't know if it's anything about balls. He's one of the only, ONLY people in the wrestling business of that caliber to have never, ever worked for Vince McMahon. That to me is legendary in its own right. And now what happens? Another wrestling company is building a Hall of Fame on the foundation of him and him alone. And if he doesn't want to risk any of that to have been buried by Shawn Michaels or HHH I can't really say it's because he doesn't have any balls, it's really because he'd just rather not go there. I get that he could have done this or that, but I don't think it's taken away from the this or that he has done. It seems pretty even to me despite not having been packaged with the WWE seal of approval stamped all over it.

And that's also coming from someone who isn't and has never really been a big fan of the character.

The whole thing about him being the greatest to never enter the WWE, It used to be a claim to his name but It limits his legacy to me. I'll always look at it as him taking the easy option out.
As for TNA building a hall of fame on him, there's one man who's done everything for TNA that should have got the spot they're giving Sting, and that's Jeff Jarett.

Sting is the guy that got TNA the deal with Spike, Spike didnt want to put TNA on their channel without a big name, which is where Sting was brought in on a permanent basis, the guy could've easily retired in 2001 when WCW folded. Who knows where TNA would be right now if they didn't get the deal with spike.
