”This is pretty nifty. I’ve had so many big matches in a span of literally nothing. But look at me, I’m still standing. I think it’s pretty incredible. I’ve beaten two Grand Slam Champions in singles matches. I’ve gone to war in a cage with The New Epoch and lost because of inadequate partners. I’ve faced the best this company has to offer on a consistent basis. A TLC Match against a couple of losers? I think I can handle that.”
“You see, Ripp Jackson and Thunder have been impressive, in the past. Key word, in the past. Neither man has won a match since winning their championships, I don’t think so at least. And if they did, did that win actually mean anything? Probably not. I can tell you that Thunder knows what it likes to feel my wrath. I embarrassed him. I dominated him. He didn’t stand a chance against me. I should’ve ended him like I ended Randel Benjamin, Dave Demento, Charles Colton, and Dane Tombs. I should’ve added him to the list of victims. But I needed him.”
“Thunder is living on borrowed time. Once I take away that tag team championship from Thunder, he will no longer be needed as far as I’m concerned. Thunder is a different beast than all of the past victims. Thunder actually has a reputation. Thunder is a Grand Slam Champion. Thunder was once a respected commodity around the WFWF. He stays around here simply because the fans have sympathy for him. They feel bad to see their hero, at rock bottom. Thunder is arguably the worst wrestler on the roster right now. I’m pretty sure anyone could beat him. Even Cam Nitta. That’s right, I said it.”
“Thunder is going to wish that I was never one of the man to challenge for those tag team championships. Because I can promise you this, I will end him. I actually think for once I’m doing the good thing. I’m sending the old dog out back and shooting him, so he doesn’t have to suffer anymore. It was a good run, buddy, but it’s time to go bye bye. Unfortunately for you, your end will comprise of an incredible amount of pain for you. And ending you will give the the accolade of being the one that can say that I ended the career of the great Thunder.”
“And that brings me to Ripp Jackson. You know what? I was actually semi-impressed with this guy at first, I’m not going to lie. He was just racking up the wins, being a force. Of course he would never measure up to me, but he was on my radar. But then he decided to team with Thunder. Big mistake buddy. You know how Phillip Schneider claims that everything he touches is cursed? I think Thunder has more claim to that than Schneider does. Jackson seems to have also taken on the losing mantra that Thunder has adopted.”
“I hate to be so cliché, but Ripp Jackson is nothing more than a flash in the pan. Seems like there are a lot of those coming around here lately. I hear the flavor of the month now is Daniel Sabat. Jackson is two months overdue and now he is right about where he belongs, at the bottom of the barrel. The difference between me and Jackson is staying power. I’ve been here for how long? I’ve been a consistent threat since I won the National Championship what seems like forever ago. Ripp Jackson doesn’t scare anyone anymore, not even Thunder.”
“So Jackson, I’ll give you this warning. I’m going to give you a pass this time around. You know not what you do. Thunder has cursed you, and put you in a position where you are not a threat to anyone. And you know what? I think you have potential. And I like a challenge. If you stay out of my way, step aside and let me dismantle you, I’ll let you survive another day. I think you’ll thank me for that. Thunder is my target this time around, not you. I’ll take my championship and leave you be, once Thunder is gone. Call it my good deed of the day.”
“But if you get in my way, lord help you, you will pay. Xavier Pierce is going to regret putting me in another barbaric match like this. Thunder is going to need a stretcher, and if Jackson tries to prevent me, so will he. Jackson, if you get in my way, I will smash you in the head with a chair. I will crush your skull with a ladder. I will put you through the Spanish Announce Table. This extra stipulation? It’s a playground for me. Those weapons are toys, and your bodies are my playsets. You will both be crumpled messes on the canvas if you stand between me and the tag team championship.”
“And Raider? He’ll do as a tag team partner for the time being. I just need this championship to add credibility to my name. I don’t care if we ever defend it, I just want my name on that title history. That’s all. Raider doesn’t seem to care too much either, he’s focused on Kyzer, as he should be. I’m more worried about other things as well.”
“David Brennan, I think in any other life, we would be good friends. But now, we will be pitted one on one in that ring for a spot in the Survival of the Fittest Chamber. And I will tell you this, I will win. I think I’ll let you survive, because I personally like you and what you’ve done with your coattail riding, but you will not win. That world title shot is mine. And then I will defeat whoever is champion at the time. I almost hope it’s Schneider, just so I can prove that I can beat whoever. Or maybe Raider, make it easy on myself. Regardless of the outcome at Survival of the Fittest, the reign of Ace Bennett is coming.”

The day was fast approaching. She was in a hotel located in the wonderful city of Portland. And when I say wonderful, I mean horrible. At this point, she sat there, wasting the days away until the WFWF roster arrived for their next show. She wouldn’t have to do this much longer, however, because today was the day they arrived, and the day that Alicia Bennett made her final move in her attempt to gain her younger brother back.
She knew it wasn’t exactly the most….conventional of plans, but it was a plan, and she was willing to do whatever it took. These electrified wrestling trunks (it even sounds weird to say) may be the ticket to get her brother back on his medication, and back to his normal self. Today was the day she met Raider, well Brad. Today was the day that she made her move in this war that has been going. It was definitely a big day for her, and it showed. She had just gotten out of the shower and was already sweating on the only moderately hot day. Her fingers twitched as she packed the things into her duffle bag. She picked up Raider’s trunks and placed them, followed by her brother’s.
She held them in her hands for a few moments, feeling their power. She knew that she had the switch in her possession. It was the switch that would send a slight electrical current through her brother’s body after the match. It was the switch that would shut him down, rendering his brain temporarily useless. It was the switch that would bring him into her possession, and into the possession of Doctor Schwartz. She had hired him a few months ago. He wasn’t really a doctor per say, although he did have a medicinal degree. He was more of a scientist, studying functions of the brain and how a person thinks. Ace’s disorder was of interest to Schwartz, so he decided to take the case. Alicia finally puts the trunks in her bag, and pulls her phone out of her pocket, a look of hesitation across her face. She dials, and awaits an answer.
“Hello, this is Dr. Schwartz. How may I assist you today?”

She dials, and awaits an answer.
“Hello, this is Dr. Schwartz. How may I assist you today?”
His accent was heavy, but understandable. It wasn’t like one of those college professors teaching introductory language courses.
“Hello doctor, this is Alicia Bennett.”
“Ah yes, Alicia! How are you?”
“I’m fine, sir. And yourself?”
“I’m well. So what was it that you wanted, my dear girl? I’m awaiting your brother’s arrival here at the lab. When did you say he was coming?”
“That was actually what I was calling about. I think I’m having second thoughts.”
“Oh? And why is this?”
“I don’t know, it just seems a little….extreme, doesn’t it?”
“Extreme actions require extreme measures my dear. You have seen you’re brother’s recent actions lately, no?”
“I suppose, I just don’t want to hurt him is all. And I couldn’t imagine the pain of being electrocuted.”
“I wouldn’t exactly call it an electrocution, Alicia. Let’s say it’s more of…..a shock. He won’t feel a thing.”
“But don’t things like this go wrong all the time?”
“Alicia, Alicia, Alica. You watch far too many movies. It’s almost like a non medicinal form of anesthesia; he’ll be out like a light before he knew anything hit him. I’ve tested it on countless subjects and have had a 100 percent success rate. You have nothing to worry about darling.”
“But is this really the right way of going about things? I mean, Ace seems happy the way he is. He’s earned a tag team championship opportunity and has been main eventing shows. I mean, am I wrong here?”
“Of course you aren’t. Do you think those poor defenseless souls that he mutlated are happy with the way Ace is? Do you think, what’s his name, oh right, Chris, do you think Chris was happy when Ace punched him in the face, completely spontaneously? Do you think Ace’s tag team partner is happy with an unstable partner? Are you happy with the way Ace is?”
“Well no, but-”
“Then why should he be allowed to run rampant on society. He is a danger to himself, and to those around him. He must be stopped Alicia. Those trunks are the only way to do it without harming him.”
Silence. She sits and thinks about what the doctor had just said.
“Alicia, my plan is to fix your brother. To make it so he doesn’t have to take that medicine anymore. To take away the risk of him becoming a monster again. If you don’t do this, then I will not have an opportunity to do so.”
“You’re right.”
“Of course I am, darling.”
“Thank you so much for your help.”
“Anytime, dear. Goodbye.”
“Goodbye, Dr. Schwartz.”
With that, she hangs up. A whole new resolve about her, she finishes packing her things and walks out the hotel door, determination on her face.

Driving down the highway. The vastness of the road seemed overbearing. Just pavement and the wilderness, nothing else, for miles and miles. This is what Ace Bennett was faced with right now. The lone car on the road, he drove towards his destination, this time being Portland, Oregon. Why the WFWF was going to this town, he had no idea, but he had to do his job, so Portland it is. Of course, as we all know, Ace wasn’t alone. Well he was, but he wasn’t. You guys get the drift by now. He has stopped taking his crazy pills and he thinks there’s two of him, and the second one of him actually effects his actions. That’s the story if you haven’t been reading.
Anyways, they are driving down yet another road in yet another rental car. This was the part he hated about his job, traveling from place to place. And it wasn’t like he was getting paid enough to take an airplane, at least not for every show. Or was he? He didn’t really know. But I’m rambling here. Ace sat there, driving his car, looking in the mirror.
So what’s the plan for this one?
You know the plan, fight until we win.
But this is a big match.
It doesn’t really matter.
Sure it does, we could win a tag team championship.
You’re going to take over once again, and we’ll probably lose because of it. I have a throbbing headache because of your crap you tried to pull last show.
You mean when I tried to win the match? You’ve proved plenty of times that you not capable of winning matches yourself, and I’ve proved plenty of times that I can when matches. Ask Trace Demon, Cam Nitta, or Thunder. It’s not my fault that we had incompetent partners. What did Drake Elias do in that match? Nothing.
I had things under control.
Clearly…
Regardless, this is my fight. I don’t understand why you need to interfere when you are not fighting for something that you believe in. All you want is glory.
At the end of the day, that’s all everyone wants. Think about it. If you beat The New Epoch, you will gain the exposure. If you win Survival of the Fittest you get a title shot. If you win a title shot, you can get a championship. If you win the championship, you get the glory. At the end of the day, all you’re after is glory. If you complete your “goals” you will have glory. At least I’m honest with myself.
The tension in the car was through the roof, despite the fact that there was only one person. Ace fell silent, leaving a cold feeling in the room.
You know I’m right.
I don’t know anything anymore.
Well there’s a bright side in all of this.
And what could that possibly be?
Our opponents are jokes. We should have an easy time.
Your arrogance is astounding.
Is it arrogance though? I’m sorry that I don’t find credibility in a team that is composed of a washed up old hag who hasn’t won a match on his own accord in years and a supposed up and comer who also hasn’t won a match in God knows how long. And they haven’t faced anyone who is any good recently either. I mean, Cam Nitta and Mak Cross? Really?
Well, we still can’t underestimate them.
I think my estimation of them is just right. Call me crazy.
I thought that was a given….
Before Ace gets a chance to respond to himself, his phone begins to ring. He shuffles around his car to find it, and eventually pulls it out, and answers.
Hello?
Ace? Is that you?
Yeah, what’s up man?
Just wondering what your mind set is heading in.
Well, I’m pretty con-
I thought it’d be a better idea if we did this in another medium. Perhaps in person?
Yeah, sure.
Ace is shocked that he didn’t interrupt himself. He hadn’t really gotten a chance to hang out with his partner since forming the team because he wouldn’t let himself.
Sweet, I figure maybe we can hang out or something the morning of the show? Perhaps breakfast?
Anything is good with me.
Cool, I’ll talk to you in a few days with the details. You on your way here?
Yeah.
I don’t get why you drive man.
I don’t exactly get paid like a main eventer such as yourself.
Fair enough. Well I guess that I will see you in a few days then.
Sounds good to me.
Later.
See ya.
Ace hangs up the phone. He sits in silence for a few minutes before looking in the mirror in shock.
What?
You actually are okay with that happening?
Listen, Raider is our partner. Whether I like it or not. We’ve got to have him on our side. If we have a little bonding session with him, then he will trust us, well you, more.
You have some hidden agenda behind everything, don’t you?
What would be the point of doing anything if there wasn’t a reason behind it?
To be a good person?
Being a good person is overrated.
A smirk is what Ace’s eyes meet when he looks in the mirror. Ace can do nothing more than shake his head at himself. He looks forward, at the road in front of him on his path to Loaded.
-
It was the night before the next edition of Loaded. The arena parking lot was completely empty, bar one car. That car was a maroon Honda Civic. The car was off, radio running. The back seat of the car contained a duffel bag. The lone person in the car had a stoic look on her face, as she awaited her accomplice to arrive. If you hadn’t guessed by now, it was Alicia Bennett in the car. Soon after we arrive, a silver rental car arrives. In this car is the artist known as Raider. Raider steps out of the car after parking, and Alicia does the same. The two stand there, looking at each other. They nod, greeting one another.
Kind of dramatic, don’t you think?
I don’t want Ace finding out that I’m here. That would be the end of this plan.
Fair enough. So let’s seem ‘em then.
Alicia turns around and goes into the back seat of her car. Pulling out the duffle bag, she puts it on the roof of her car. As she unzips the bag, she looks at Raider. She puts her hands in the bag and pulls out two matching pairs of trunks. They are purple, with black designs on them. One has “Ace” embroidered on the side and the other “Raider.”
Pretty sweet, if I do say so myself.
Alicia. Yeah, I tried to make them look nice so Ace would accept them from you.
So that’s all I gotta do, give these to him?
Yeah, that’s it. I’ll take care of the rest after your match tomorrow night.
And I’m not going to get buzzed right?
No.
He’s not gonna get hurt?
No.
Alright good, because I’m gonna need him after we win those tag belts.
Thanks Rai-, Brad.
Not a problem. I hope it works out for you.
Me too. Thank you.
Alicia turns around and heads toward her car. Before she opens her door, she feels a hand on her shoulder. Alicia turns around and sees Raider, with an acquiring face.
Yes?
I just have one thing that doesn’t really click in my mind. So you’re going to zap Ace and take him back to where you live. Then what? I don’t see his actions changing. The guy is on a tear. I don’t want this affecting his in-ring performance.
It shouldn’t. I’m just going to put him back on his medicine, calm him down a bit. He won’t be brutalizing people every week now, which I know you are against. So it helps you in a way too.
And what makes you think that he won’t just stop taking it again and run off? He isn’t going to trust me after this.
I’m going to take him to a neurologist. He’s a revolutionary in the field. He’s found a way that he believes will relieve Ace of all of his symptoms. That should fix him, and then the pills won’t even matter anymore.
I’m just saying that there are holes in your plan. And I’m putting my neck out there for you by doing this.
Have faith, it will work. Then you will have the Ace that you wanted to work with back.
Well, I agreed to do it, and I won’t back down on my word. I just wanted to let you know that I was concerned.
As am I. But Dr. Schwartz guaranteed me that everything will go as plan, as long as Ace is wearing those trunks tomorrow night. And I will wait until after your match, so you won’t have to worry about being out there by yourself. Just make sure he gets them, and wears them.
I’ll let you know when he gets them.
Thank you very much. I’m sure we will see each other again in the future.
Yeah, sure. See ya.
Alicia successfully opens the car door this time and enters her vehicle. She closes the door behind her and puts the keys in the ignition. Waving to Raider, she leaves the parking lot, back to the hotel for one more night.
-
The morning of Loaded, where Ace Bennett faces one of the biggest matches of his career thus far. Only his second championship match in his entire career, despite being in wrestling for nearly four years. He is feeling the pressure, but he knows that this is a good opportunity for him to get advice. He sits at the table, awaiting the arrival of his tag team partner. Raider shows up just as the waitress delivers Ace his orange juice. Ace stands up and gives his partner a handshake.
Glad to see you finally show up.
Sorry, I don’t really like waking up this early.
You’re the one who invited me.
I just wanted to challenge myself.
You failed.
Heh, fair enough.
The two small talk for a little while, talking about whatever they may please. The topics ranged from hot chicks, to the NBA Finals. It was a beautiful day in Portland. The sun was out and beating down on them. This was the first real “team bonding” event the two have had since being a team. Ace was enjoying himself, because it seemed like the evil him didn’t really care to make an appearance. Just him and Raider, the number one contenders the WFWF Tag Team Championship, shooting the breeze. Then the waiter brought the food, and things get serious.
So I kind of got a present for you.
Oh God, guys don’t get other guys presents.
Huh? Guys don’t get other guys presents.
See? What did I tell you?
Well, just consider it a favor.
Raider pulls out a pair of wrestling trunks. They were purple, with black designs on them. He hands them over to Ace, who looks at them. His name was embroidered in the side.
These are nice man, but I don’t really need them. I have plenty of trunks that I can wear.
Raider then pulls out another pair of trunks, matching the ones Ace is holding in his hands. He shows that his are the same pair, except “Raider” is embroidered in his. Ace gives a smile.
Pretty cool, right?
Yeah man, but why purple?
Eh, it’s something different. You wear orange too much.
It’s kind of my color….
Yeah, we’ll go with that.
Any particular reason for this?
I guess you could say that.
Well, some explanation would be nice.
Look, one of the reasons that we got beat last week is because The New Epoch is a cohesive unit. They came out to the ring together. They look like a team. We don’t. We never did. I mean sure, we beat Benjamin and Demento, but what credible team couldn’t do that?
I got you man, so this is kind of a way of bonding, huh?
You could say that. I want these tag team championships. I’ll be the first to say that they haven’t exactly been my priority as of late, but I want them. And I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure we win. You see, The New Epoch have this aura about them. It may be a horrible aura, but it is an aura all the less. They’re a team, they have an intimidation factor that we don’t have.
It’s all about perception.
Exactly! We come out in these matching trunks, together, and everyone will know that we are a team working towards the same goal. And then we can move on to bigger and better things.
I got you man, so we’ll go out there, with our matching purple trunks, crush Jackson and Thunder, and go on to Survival of the Fittest.
Something along those lines. All we gotta do is focus on Thunder and keep Jackson out of the match for as long as we can. Our bodies are both probably pretty sore after that Cage Match, only to go into a TLC Match.
Nah, man. I’m freaking indestructible, I want to face Obo in a Flaming Thumb Tack of Death Barbed Wire Ropes on a Pole Match next.
I don’t know about that, but how does an Elimination Chamber sound.
Not like I have any choice.
What are you gonna do about Brennan?
Beat him.
That’s easier said than done my friend, I know first hand.
As do I. But a lot has changed since the last time me and him faced off. I’m a new person; I think you can see that. Nobody knows what I’m going to do next. Especially not The New Epoch and especially not David Brennan. He’s going to find it hard to read me in the next match. They may think they got the upper hand last week, and they probably did. But Brennan will not win this war. Just like I know Kyzer will not win his with you.
Glad you got the confidence my friend. That’s half of the fight. Now you just gotta back it up.
Trust me when I say that I will. There’s just one thing that I want to say.
Shoot.
Thank you.
This kind of took Raider aback a bit, he wasn’t expecting that in the least bit.
For what exactly?
For being there for me. I know you probably don’t think it was much, but it was to me. I’ve been going through a lot these past few months, and this friendship has kinda kept me afloat through it all. Sad to think you’re best friend is someone you have never had a legit conversation with until today?
Well, I hope my advice has helped you become a better wrestler. The results look like it has, which was one of the reasons I joined with you in the first place.
I just thought I’d let you know that this team has been a great experience so far and I hope we have a ton of reigns as tag champs together.
No.
No?
Yeah, no.
Well, if-
We will only have one reign as Tag Team Champions, because we will never let them go.
Raider extends his hand, to which Ace shakes.
Now we need to talk entrance music….
The two chat, and we leave them alone, because the theme music is going to be a surprise. They need to eat their breakfast anyways.

”It feels nice to get recognition for your performance once in a while. I’ve gone out there, night in and night out, busting my ass for the fans, and I got nothing. But now, my wins and performance in loses have finally amounted to something. I have earned a WFWF Tag Team Championship opportunity with my best friend. I feel like while I’m not the one that is physically do it, it is nice to get noticed for once.”
“Last time I earned a championship opportunity, I was the rising star in this company. I was taking all comers, and putting them down on that mat. Those comers included the likes of Braden Munroe and Johnny Michaels, two of the best to ever set foot in this company. And now I’ve defeated Raider and Thunder, two of the greatest to step in the ring. And I’m getting a title shot. I sense a pattern here.”
“But that doesn’t mean that a win is automatic. The current tag team champions have proved to be game opponents in our match. Ripp Jackson and Thunder. The current tag team champions have proven that they can win matches. I’m in no way going to make the mistake that Ace is making. I will not doubt the abilities of these two, they’ve been there before.”
“Thunder is a Grand Slam Champion. This is not his first time as tag team champ. Despite his recent run, who knows what he could potentially pull out his hat. It’s that veteran savvy that scares me about him. I mean, sure I’ve been around here for a long time, but nowhere near as long as Thunder. He was here far before I was, and he still is. I respect the man, and will not question his abilities just because of a tough streak. Despite all of that, I beat him once, and I will be sure to beat him again.”
“And then there his partner, Ripp Jackson. He’s tore apart the scene since he’s arrive, and given every opponent that he has had problems in every one of his matches, including my tag team partner Raider. He’s young and hungry, an attribute that reminds me of myself at that point in my career. He’s powerful, and outmatches me in the strength department. However, I outmatch him in strength and experience, and that’s why I will beat him.”
“I’ve noticed something about Ripp Jackson and Thunder. They are on two opposite sides of their careers. Ripp Jackson has just started, and is looking forward to a bright future in this company. Thunder is a veteran looking at the back nine of his career trying to prove that he can still hang with the young guns. Ace Bennett? He is a happy medium of the two. I’m still hungry, unlike Thunder, who has done everything there is to be done around here. I want to win this match more than anything. I want those accolades. I want to be considered one of the greatest of all time. At the same time, I’ve been through the battles, unlike Ripp Jackson. Jackson has never had a tough time in his career, where he had to use everything he had to come out on top. I’ve been in blood feuds, where I used everything within myself to make sure I come out on top. Ask anyone that I’ve stepped in that ring with, and I can promise you that they remember having to put everything they had to beat me. I am everything that Jackson and Thunder wish they could be. I’m an experienced veteran who still wants it more than anyone else. Neither Jackson or Thunder can say either of those things.”
“And that brings me to my second point. My partner. Raider and I have always been on the same page in regards to our goal. We both want to rid the WFWF of the scum of the world known as The New Epoch. What goal is Jackson and Thunder trying to accomplish? What page are they on? I can tell you this, it is different pages. Those two have argued how many times, in the ring. Miscommunications have cost the two of them several matches recently. I can promise you that Raider and I have none of these communication issues. We will not lose matches because we aren’t on the same page.”
“So Ripp Jackson, Thunder, how does it sound to face the next World Heavyweight Champion, Raider, and the man who will win the Survival of the Fittest Tournament? How does it feel to face a cohesive team, who have attributes that neither of you posses? How does it feel to know that this match will happen in an environment that both of your opponents are familiar with, and just were in during their last match? I doubt it feels too good. Quite frankly, I don’t like your chances. How does it feel to be transitional WFWF Tag Team Champions?”
“And don’t think I forgot about you, David Brennan. You think you embarrassed me last Loaded? You don’t know what embarrassment is. You haven’t met this new side of me. You don’t know what I’m capable of. I will make you wish that you never dumped such a vile beverage on me. I will make you pay. The New Epoch will crumble, and it will all start at Survival of the Fittest with your defeat. Unfortunately for you Brennan, it will all start with your demise.”
“And here is a warning to all of those competing in the Survival of the Fittest Tournament. Don’t waste your time, the outcome has already been decided. That’s a promise.”
