This thread is for Sycho Sid appreciation.
Sadly, he's mostly remembered for his leg falling off and saying he only has half a brain but at one time Sid was pretty darn over and a big name in WWF. He held two WWF Championships and main evented Wrestlemania twice.
Sid is the only man to beat Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in back to back PPV main events.
Also, Sid was pretty darn over in 1996. Just watch Summerslam and especially Survivor Series 1996 where Sid gets huge pops. Madison Square Garden even almost booed Shan out of the building in favor of Sid.
Thoughts? Memories? Did Sid really poop himself at Wrestlemania 13?

Survivor Series 96 and his WCW theme song are honestly the only things I remember liking about Sid. I did however get to see an AWESOME match between him and Too Cold Scorpio at an indy show a few years back and I got to meet him afterwards and he was a pretty cool dude.

All fun aside, I never had a problem with Sid. He was highly intimidating.

i liked how he was built up on the road to WM 8. the way he destroyed a load of jobbers and would attack them on the stretcher afterwards!

I like Sid.
I didn't like Sid when he brought a squeegee cloth to a scissors fight with Arn Anderson.

He was brought in the WWF as the next big thing in 91 and pushed heavily. I enjoyed him as a crazy heel in 92 and always thought if hed stuck around after WM 8, and doing the obligatory job to Hogan, he could have been a top heel for the company the rest of the year and feuded with the likes of Savage, Warrior, and Undertaker.
I also enjoyed him in 96. He had the look and attitude, and was very over with the crowd. I dont think he is always given his just due for this point in his career. He reached his pinnacle when he beat HBK at Survivor Series.
His WCW run was forgettable to me. I didnt really follow WCW that closely at the time.

He was one of the first wrestlers I can remember that it became cool to cheer for the bad guy who was facing the vanilla babyface. The pop he got at the 1992 Rumble when he tossed out Hogan was awesome. Also, Sid beating HBK was fantastic. Watch the video of him pinning HBK, you can hear all the little girls in the audience screaming, and all the grown men cheering. Eerily familiar.......

I'll never forget Sid powerbombing Shawn Michaels repeatedly (5 times, I think it was) and a young HBK fan myself, I was terrified. I was never a Sid fan, but I have learned to respect him over the years. I also loved his feud with Diesel in 1995 and hope and pray we get a figure of Sid soon.

Loved Sycho Sid from 95-97 and Sid's last WCW run from 99-01. While I never thought he was never great from an in-ring stand point, he was always solid and played his monster heel role perfectly. His powerbomb was as impressive as any and had some unintentially hilarious moments that I still remember to this day.

i rather enjoyed Sid's WWF runs. i can't say much about him in WCW,as the only access i had to the old NWA was through Pro Wrestling Illustrated. but i knew of him through the magazine, so when Sid Justice appeared,i knew who we were dealing with. i honestly expected huge things from him, especially being groomed to be the nest successor of Hogan in late summer/ fall of 1991. but, sadly, that went nowhere...
his return in 1996 was great, though. you could FEEL the momentum, and how over he was getting leading up to Survivor Series 96. and i was cheering him on to with the Title! couple of buddies and me even went out for some beers to celebrate his win after the PPV was over!
he was a decent Champion in his 2 reigns, never a GREAT one,but he did what was asked of him. it's funny when you think that if things worked out the way they were meant to,that 2nd reign never would've happened,as HBK would've kept the title into WM vs Bret Hart. i really wish he would've stuck around,as i was looking foward to the building of a Hitman vs Sid feud, which seemed to be what they were setting up right after WrestleMania 13. but, alas,he was gone again.
didn't really watch him in 1999 - 2000 ,as WCW was already on the decline and really didn't see much of Nitro at that point. but in the end,he lived up to the moniker of being a "Future World Champion" that he was billed as in 1990 with 4 Championship Reigns.
