i rather enjoyed Sid's WWF runs. i can't say much about him in WCW,as the only access i had to the old NWA was through Pro Wrestling Illustrated. but i knew of him through the magazine, so when Sid Justice appeared,i knew who we were dealing with. i honestly expected huge things from him, especially being groomed to be the nest successor of Hogan in late summer/ fall of 1991. but, sadly, that went nowhere... his return in 1996 was great, though. you could FEEL the momentum, and how over he was getting leading up to Survivor Series 96. and i was cheering him on to with the Title! couple of buddies and me even went out for some beers to celebrate his win after the PPV was over! he was a decent Champion in his 2 reigns, never a GREAT one,but he did what was asked of him. it's funny when you think that if things worked out the way they were meant to,that 2nd reign never would've happened,as HBK would've kept the title into WM vs Bret Hart. i really wish he would've stuck around,as i was looking foward to the building of a Hitman vs Sid feud, which seemed to be what they were setting up right after WrestleMania 13. but, alas,he was gone again. didn't really watch him in 1999 - 2000 ,as WCW was already on the decline and really didn't see much of Nitro at that point. but in the end,he lived up to the moniker of being a "Future World Champion" that he was billed as in 1990 with 4 Championship Reigns. This can also be said about his first title reign, which was originally supposed to go to Vader. Vader was first supposed to win the title at SummerSlam (that fell thru due to HBKs bitching), then was supposed to win it at Survivor Series and then drop it back to HBK at the Rumble. However, the Vader title run was nixed all together and Sid was given the run leading into the Rumble. But like I said, there was no denying how over Sid was at the time. It was hard for some to even look at him as the "heel" in his feud with HBK because people loved the bad ass character, ala Steve Austin.

true. i forgot about the aborted Vader reigns...Sid was the "Anti-HBK" , which i think went a long way towards his popularity,as those who didn't care for Michaels jumped on his bandwagon,ESPECIALLY once he started the program versus HBK.
tall to Michaels shorter stature. bulky to Michaels slimmer build. stoic to Michaels flashy persona. power wrestler to Michaels athletic feats. crazy ranter on the mic to Michaels more measured promo's.

I was at ringside at NEC Birmingham when he faced Undertaker around 1992 I think and he was massive. I always liked Sid in WWF, didn't really see much of his WCW stuff. Was good to see him back on Monday.

i absolutely love his work in ecw. his work in wwe in 1996-7 was great too, but ecw is where he shined.
i was psyched for his feud with jarrett in 2000 in wcw.

I remember always getitng excited for him from 95-97 when he stated getting momentum, but he always seemed to disapear out of no where, similar to his 91-92 run. Anyone know why he kept leaving the company in the middle of huge pushes? I thought they were always because of contract issues but could they have been caused by something else?

^ I think, at least in 1992, it was due to a contract dispute. He was injured in October of 91, missing Survivor Series, had the heel turn after the Rumble and the feud with Hogan, then left the company. I believe he also had in his contract that he would main event a WrestleMania, thus his match with Hogan at WM8.
Like I said in a previous post, I really wish he had stuck around during this time period.

I like Sid, always been a fan, especially in '96 WWF and some of his work as Sid Vicious in WCW.
