2:45pmBackstage in Laredo, TXI've just arrived at the arena, I nod in acknowledgement of the workers who are setting up tonights show and head straight to locker room A. A few guys are already chatting away between themselves but they stop to acknowledge me. I place my bags down and sit down on the bench. Gerald Brisco enters and he quickly rushes over to me.
Gerald Brisco - Nick! Nick ..Vince is looking for you!
Me? Why me?
Gerald Brisco - He wants you in his office as soon as possible..
This doesn't sound great, In all my time here Vince has never personally asked to see me in his office, sure we've shared a quick word backstage at a few shows but this was serious..
I get up off the bench and head down to the corridor, a few guys are fully underway with there own preparation for tonight's show, over the past few weeks I had been involved in a program which had seen me separate from my long time partner Jack Swagger. I bump into him as i'm heading towards Vince's office. He extends his hands, to which I respond by shaking.
Jacob Hager - It's been a pleasure working with you these past few months dude, guessing it's about things got shaken up around here.Nick, you deserve this, I'm sure you'll grab this and run with it.
Jake again shakes my hand before heading off towards the locker rooms. What did he mean "grab this". I was begging to get nervous, who would have thought it, a guy as arrogant as me and i'm begging to second guess myself and have loads of stupid thoughts running through my head.
I finally reach Vince's office, to which I graciously knock twice before taking a step back. I stand there for what seems like five minutes before Vince finally opens the door and he extends his hand which I shake.
Vince McMahon - Ah, Nick, just the guy I wanted to see, how have you been? please come in and take a seat.
I walk in and notice 4 other seats in the room, one is occupied by Dave Kapoor, head writer of Raw, the other is occupied by Pat Patterson, who is a Creative Consultant for all WWE's Shows. I sit down and right away the discussion begins.
Vince McMahon - Now, Nick you are probably wondering why I have asked you to come see me today, I had a very long discussion with both Dave and Pat over the weekend and we have decided that it's time for you to finally step up to the next level...
Next Level? What is Vince talking about?
Pat Patterson - We feel that you have begin to outgrow working with Vickie and myself and Dave thought long and hard about who we could have replace her. We both came to a standstill on Saturday it was Vince who suggested the manager we want to pair you with.
Wow, am I hearing this right? They are finally taking away Vickie from me? I know there was discussion a few months back in the run up to Wrestlemania but they are finally have me break out?
Dave Kapoor - I've had great time watching you go out there every Monday and Tuesday night and literally steal the show at times. As you know we have the Money In The Bank PPV coming up in a few weeks and we realised that we want you to win it. We are going to have you show up in the final moments of the match and win the match, we however want you to go on a losing streak which is how you will fire Vickie as your manager, then after the match you are going to reveal you have been taking pointers from your new manager. We put live on air last week that only former champions could take place in the match and we are going use this route to allow you to enter and win the match.
Me? Winning the briefcase that guarantees me a World Championship match? Count Me In! I ask who I will be replacing Vickie with but Vince cuts me off..
Vince McMahon - I'm sorry, Nick. I've asked for 100% confidentiality with this between Myself, Dave and Pat, I am still undergoing talks with the ideal man but he comes at a great price...Don't worry, when we know, you will be the first to find out...Thank you for your time, I've gifted you this opportunity because I belive you can become one of my top guys..now it's time for you to...Show The World..
I walk out of Vince's office with a smile like a chesire cat. I was so close to the biggest night of my career, a night that will finally eclipse the night I won the heavyweight championship for eleven minutes a few years back..I wander off to the trainers room and he checks me out and puts me through a few tests, I get the all clear and head back to the locker room to sleep for a few hours before the show... |

I'm going with a ZIggler/Flair pairing which would be fantastic. I like the write up so far and am looking forward to more. As a big Ziggler fan, I will be reading.

We put live on air last week that only former champions could take place in the match and we are going use this route to allow you to enter and win the match. The only people in the WWE Championship MITB match are former WWE Champions. The World Championship MITB has qualifying matches. Since Dolph was a former World Champion (not WWE), I don't see how he can just put himself into it... but... okay. I'm intrigued to find out who his manager is. Sounds exciting. |

I'm looking forward to what I'm guessing will be a Ziggler/Flair pairing. Looking forward to reading more.
