I was just going back and watching some older stuff and ran into the HBK/Y2J stuff from 2008. What all PPV matches did they have in that rivalry?

Off the top of my head...
Judgment Day - Normal Match
Great American Bash - Normal Match
Unforgiven - Non-Sanctioned Match
No Mercy - Ladder Match
My favourite rivalry and a great series of matches! I personally think their match at GAB is one of the most underrated of all time.

I think their rivalry in 2008 was a little big at the time but one of the most forgotten.
-Loved their matches, and the whole HBK costing Jericho the IC Championship.
-The Ladder match was awesome, and I loved how Jericho won the World Title at Unforgiven the same night he had a match with Shawn.
-2008 was a great year, but since then it has pretty much gone down hill, you barely get much action now, even though then PG hadn't really started out that much, since there was still blood and stuff.

I literally remember nothing about that feud. It drives me crazy because people speak so highly of it. I couldn't remark on a single thing that happened.
I was about as uninvolved in WWE as I could be that year. Between graduating from high school, preparing for college, working, and spending a ton of time with my friends, I had never been so disinterested.
I've always wanted to go back and watch the matches, but I would like the see the entire angle play out.

Their 2003 feud was better. Just different imo. 2003 was the "I idolized you and now I am you" angle, which was fantastic. Jericho vs HBK is probably Michaels best match at Mania ever, maybe only trumped by 21 against Angle from a pure wrestling point-of-view, but the feud really had no substance after Mania and was kind of pointless by Backlash. It was the first time for what was a dream matchup and for that I will always remember it. Jericho vs HBK in 08 was "personal." He put him through the JeriTron, and they did the whole eye injury. Then Jericho punched Rebecca in the face, they had the match where Michaels beat Jericho to stoppage and then they had that amazing ladder match at No Mercy. Incredible feud, and one of the best of both men's careers imo. I consider it to be one of the best feuds I have ever seen and a real highlight for what was a serious down period for WWE. |
