The "Best Of" series come out every September. I'm only going to speculate on the Elite series....since that is what i collect...and know best. Best of 2011 had figures in it that were out currently in the latest Elite series; in Rey & Cena from Elite 11. There were four Elite series released in 2011, at the time of its release. Elite series 8, 9, 10 & 11. [Assuming there is a Best Of this year] Figures from Elite series 14, 15, 16 & 17 would be eligible. I'm not sure if they would include Flashbacks. I personally don't feel they will. Here's the 5 i believe will be in Best of 2012 - John Cena (Elite 17)
- Rey Mysterio (Elite 15)
- The Rock (Elite 14)
- CM Punk (Elite 16)
- Randy Orton (Elite 16)
Maybe not the most popular choices for everyone. But I kept in mind that Cena, Orton and Rey were in the last two Best of series. Punk is a great figure and there has been two Rock figures this year. One of them is bound to make it in. Post urs. And do u think they would include Flashbacks? |

Hopefully Gold Sin Cara is in there cause I still need that and haven't seen Elite 15 in stores yet.
Really hope they don't put Orton in there. lol.

so only Elites....id think 13-17 will be "eligible" i'm basing that on the best of 2011 model. Which didn't include elite 7. This isn't based off retail releases but when RSC had them in stock RSC had Elite 13 in December of 2011...and Elite 7 in December of 2010. so i didn't think Elite 13 figs would be included in a best of 2012 |

Good idea for a topic because I tend to think about this every so often now knowing that most of 2012's offerings have been announced.
That being said here is what I am thinking, with my reasoning:
First and foremost, Elite Orton this year blew up in Mattel's faces as far as packing and desire. It would be a smart move to not include any Ortons in the this year's BO lineups.
-John Cena (Elite 17 - They really overdid it with Red Cena production, so I am hoping RAH Cena makes the cut here)
-Sin Cara (Elite 15 - Personally, I'd prefer to see no Rey here at all and feel this is the better figure of WWE masked superstars made this year)
-Alberto Del Rio (Elite 14 - I believe they threw Sheamus into BO2011 simply because he came with the WWE Championship. For that reason I say ADR is in as a means to get the WWE Championship back out to people who don't have it yet if there are any.)
-The Rock (Elite 14 - The Rock was a big part of WWE programming earlier in the year, and who knows, may be still yet. That being said, if Cena is in the BO2012 set, and I'm sure he will be, you can count The Rock in too, and personally I think this figure is better suited for a rerelease over Elite 16.)
-Kelly Kelly (Elite 17 - This may be a shock to some of you reading this, but it is their first Elite Diva and for that reason, I think it is worthy of including here. Ideally, I'd like to see one Diva in a Best Of set this year, Elite or Basic, because I think the Diva figures this year have been pretty good.)

I just wish they would get rid of sets like Best of and Signature Series. They are always shelf warmers and do nothing but prevent new series from being stocked. My local TRU still has 4 full pegs of Best of '11 Basics (all Cena, Orton, Rey, and Kofi) that were put out for Christmas in November of last year. Because of this, the only Basics this store has stocked all year is Signature Series that came on the display back in the spring (and are currently collecting dust along with the BO11) and one lone case of B17.

The "Best of" series are figures that they mass produced the first time round and have surplus of so they re-release them to try and get rid of a few more so it'll be figures like:
E12 Orton,
E13 Big Show,
E13 Mysterio,
E14 Cena,
E14 Del Rio,
E14 Undertaker.
