Lol. ...then, no offence, but your friend is an idiot. Would he really prefer Aldo Vs Koch? Normally I'd say a guy would have to fight at least once - or against a top contender - in a new division before receiving a title shot... but this is a unique case: many people thought Edgar beat Bendo in the rematch, so it's kind of like a FW champion Vs LW champion super-fight. And 145 has so few top/worthy challengers... the (high-profile) fight with Edgar makes perfect sense.

Sent from my GT-I5500M using proboards Your friend sounds like a pretty s*itty MMA fan then. Arguably the best lightweight fighter of all time vs. the best featherweight fighter of all time...but we don't want that cause one of them is coming off one of the most controversial losses in years. Tell your friend since he's so displeased with the state of things, UFC screwing the fans over booking these awful super-fights he should probably just find a new sport to watch.

Dana said Rampage is hurt and out of his fight against Glover.
Definitely sucks, since I was really looking forward to that fight. I wonder who's going to step in?

I know he's not a big star, but Nik Lentz would be an interesting opponent for Edgar at 145.

I actually would prefer Edgar fighting once at 145 before fighting Aldo. Either way, I think they should remove Edgar off the card completely. No reason for him to be on that card anymore.
Would be great if they threw Machida into the main event, maybe against Sonnen?

This is ing ridiculous. I mean, I know crap happens, but the last year and a half in particular has been getting worse. And given that there are more events now than ever before and cards are thinner than usual this year, this is ing brutal. Like, I'm almost about done with the sport brutal. Every damn time I look forward ot a fight, 8 times out of 10 it ends up getting cancelled, it's hard ot want to keep watching and paying for this at this point. I mean, I know they can't do anything about the injuries, but that doesn't change my end that most of the shows I'm looking forward to are gettign ed. Add to the fact that the first show in my homecity of Calgary was one of the worst UFC PPVs in years, and I'm not the happiest fan in the world right now.

Man, this sucks... I was really looking forward to Aldo Vs Edgar. DW and the UFC will hopefully have time to come up with a good card though. I'd keep Edgar off the card and try and save the Aldo/Edgar fight if they can... I suppose it depends how long Aldo will be out for though. If the Glover/Rampage fight is off, I'd still like to see Rampage have a rematch with Shogun - it would be a fun fight.

They need to cut down on the amount if cards. Its backing the UFC into a corner with these injuries.

Looks like the new main event is... Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar at 205.
Glover Teixeira will now face Fabio Maldonado, and Big Nog vs Dave Herman has been added to the card.

Wow. What a meaningless fight. The UFC will put out any garbage fight expecting us to buy the product. This is pretty much a freak show in my book.

I cannot stop laughing at this, if Bonnar wins it will be the greatest, most hilarious thing ever. I love Bonnar but this fight is so WTF worthy.

Anderson against pretty much anyone else would have been better lol. But I guess These are the two who volunteered to go on the card. I won't lie, I kind of want to see it, cause I always like to watch Anderson, and Bonnar is one of my favorites. I do think in addition to this they should have left Edgar on the card, to keep some more star power. If they would have added Silva/Bonnar and Edgar/Mendes, would've still been pretty decent.
And though it won't happen, I'll laugh if Bonnar somehow pulled it off. The crapty thing for him would be that it wasn't a title fight lol

I'll probably be in the minority on this that doesn't find the match-up to be some joke. Not that I think Bonnar is some huge challenge for Silva, but f*ck it. Bonnar typically fights his heart out, despite being a mid-level guy. Kudos to both of them for stepping up.
Good to see Big Nog make his return as well. And while I REALLY wanted to see Glover/Rampage, Maldonado is a scrappy ass guy, so that could turn out to be a good one.

Well this is random, but I wouldn't ever turn down the chance to see Anderson Silva in the cage.

the glover/maldonado fight could be an awesome one. maldonado always has fun fights, and hes got a solid chin as far as a i remember. as for silva/bonnar... props to bonnar for stepping up. taking a fight with the best fighter in the world, on short notice... you gotta give him credit.
