Ive just been looking on eBay and i've notice there are WWF Hasbro figures up for sale for approximately £125 for a single loose figure which has been AFA graded.
Now if I wanted a top graded figure, I would buy MOC and open the card. Costing me roughly £10-£15.
Am i right on doing this, because to me this AFA single figure business is robbery.
Does anyone agree

I assume you are not from the US, so shipping each way plus insurance each way plus the actual grading of the figure is probably going to cost you a bit. Just curious, why would you want to grade a figure that is worth $10-15 MOC? Sounds like a waste.....

As for me, I wouldn't pay any of those crazy prices....I mean, for what, to have the figure opened by the AFA and have it graded, making you pay GBP 100,- or more for a then loose figure? Really, I'd rather buy a good MOC one for (not even) a 5th of the price and just leave it like it is!

Ive always agreed that, AFA is total bull s*it, the best thing about the AFA are the presentation cases, there grading is all over the place and way to expensive.
I prefer a good plastic figure case so i can open the case and actually feel the card in my hands, brings back memories etc, with AFA cases the figures trapped forever.
Also, why send off a c9 card for it to come back with a certificate telling me something i already know? The oly time i thought AFA were good is the recent bagged Hogan mailaways that a memeber here had (sorry cant remeber names) now i can see the point in that as the plastic bag does get kind of battered over time, Although, i see some nice plastic mini cases have appeared that would do exactly the same thing for alot less!

Same figure but because of the AFA grading its £100+. I understand with the postage etc, but its really silly money. I might take a dump and send it off through the post to them... I would sure like to see them grade that haha ;D

Like I was getting at in my other post, its worth it for rarer items, older items or fragile items because the cases they put them in are rock solid, and spending the extra $50 or $60 is worth it. I wouldnt get my loose IRS graded though, even if it cost $10, not worth it.
