he can be a face and be like this...face vs. face can work. He turned face last time bc they had Del Rio cash in on him, and Nash attack him.

I still don't see a need for a heel turn, but rather, an attitude change.
Punk can become edgy again and make all the points he's likely to make as a heel, but do so while maintaining his babyface persona.
You would think the merchandise numbers and the sheer success he's had as a champion would be enough to keep him a babyface, but WWE's the one with the numbers, not me, so I'll sit back and watch it play out.
This just seems really strange, especially with him being put on the cover of WWE '13.
Interested to see where it goes. But keep in mind, the edgy, "shoot" style stuff he was doing is what turned him face in the first place. You would think this would technically be along the same lines.

I doubt Punk will be anything like the eye raking and low blowing heel.

About friggin time!!! I am so happy he finally turned back to his old ways. It was different to see Punk face for a short time, but it just was not him. I was a big Punk fan since the beginning and i honestly got to say, his face run for the last year almost had me losing interest in him altogether. At least now we can weed out the fake Punk fans and see who the real true ones were. That is one thing i hated to. Punk turns face, all sudden everyones his biggest fan after saying Punk sucked for years. Now he turns heel again, all those posers will go right back to boo'ing him and saying he sucks and it will make loving Punk a lot more fun for me again. I am so happy about this. YES! YES! YES!

WWE needed a hit Summer storyline. They turn to Punk for the second year in a row.
Crowd was 60/40 it seemed for Punk attacking the Rock. He's pretty much where he was last summer. No matter what they do, he won't be booed huge against Cena and I can only imagine with the promos he'll cut o The Rock the same will be said there. WWE has to be smart enough to keep the belt on him until Royal Rumble.
But its WWE. They'll cut Punks legs out at SummerSlam.
But thats then. This is now and finally we got the edgy Punk back.

Well maybe this time WWE doesn't screw it up by having Nash, HHH, Johnny & Del Rio getting involved. WWE has a second chance of making Punk a household name and i really thought they hurt Punk so bad last year that he would NEVER get his momentum back but now its his time and this time we will get the real Summer of Punk. Heel Punk vs The Rock is going to be the biggest match in the Rumble's history.

Interesting ending, though I would have preferred they make Punk's turn more of a slow burn, and just have him not return to the ring after leaving Cena helpless, then for a few weeks, get put in situations where he has to contemplate between doing the "right" thing, or what's best for his career, instead of basically saying, "Hi, just wanted to make it perfectly clear I'm suddenly a heel now, so I'm going to clothesline and GTS The Rock for no apparent reason, except for the fact that I might end up facing him in five months."

I agree, though I honestly think the biggest issue was Lawler cementing the heel turn. Let the crowd decide. That's how they did it last year. WWE didn't turn Punk babyface, the crowd turned him and WWE followed suit. Just because he attacked The Rock doesn't automatically make him a heel. He's fed up with being placed on the back burner as WWE Champion. That doesn't make him a bad guy.

The turn itself was absolutely horrible, but I'm interested in where it leads.

I am so glad that CM Punk turned heel tonight.I think this will give him his edge back and with how things went down between himself and The Rock I think theirs a very strong chance that he will still be champion when the Royal Rumble rolls around.
Then depending on how this heel turn works and how over CM Punk gets I think theirs a small chance that we get our Austin/Punk match up at WM 29.If that doesn't happen(which probably won't) maybe they can spin this hole thing into a triple threat match of Cena/Punk/Rock for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania.

Out he comes next week, starts a promo about how he's never been allowed to shine on his own, how he's been constantly pushed to the side for John Cena and visiting has-beens like The Rock or Brock Lesnar, more than that, how every title match he's been a part of in the last 13 months has revolved around the belt brought in and tailor made for John Cena, constantly reminded that Cena is the face of the company even when the belt isn't around his waist because every time that title gets lifted over his head, put around his waist or thrown over his shoulder it's a reminder that, no matter who's holding it, the WWE and its title is John Cena's. Pulls out a new belt and starts shooting on Dwayne for being the huge piece of crap he actually is. WWE will learn to revolve around wrestling again as far as CM Punk is concerned, he's sick of seeing huge egos plastered across the posters that should have CM Punk on them as the champion and, therefore, number one guy in the company. This would be AWESOME

Can they really just turn him heel and have him cheat, insult fans, and pretend to not care about what they want? He promised Change and there have been so many factors preventing it from happening. They cant stop now. He can stop pandering but they have to do something special with Punk. Summer of Punk II: Sorry We F*cked Up Last Year, needs to begin next week.

im tired of hearing people say "pipebomb". especially when cole started to use it. As soon as he started using it I knew that punk was gonna lose his edge. And i smell a tag match where punk teams with Big Boring Bastard to face cena and maybe rock if hes ever there

Just a little bit of a side note if with his newly turned heel self CM Punk can keep the title until the Royal Rumble he would then have the sixth longest reign in WWE history and the longest reign in the last 25 years. That would be a huge feather in his cap.

I'm not cheering for Johnny Cena over Punk. I'm not cheering for 2 matches a year Duane Johnson over Punk.
He's still face to me, damnit!

Well if they do go full heel on Punk he could keep the title til Rumble and drop it to The Rock. Cena or Brock will most likely win The Rumble and face The Rock and maybe that would leave us with Punk vs. Austin. Maybe.
In a perfect world Punk would retain and Austin would win the Rumble but that would never happen.

I love it for one simple fact:
Austin said he would do a match with Punk with Punk as the heel........so this is what could potentially happen:
Heel Punk drops the belt to Rock at the Royal Rumble leaving a heel Punk open for wrestlemania........which means we could see Punk/Austin at Mania 29.
