Those switches aren't that bad, I've seen worse, where the figure is loose in the package broken and its not even a wrestling figure. By the way you really think these stores are gonna take the time and resources to scope out wrestling figure returns, some of these companies barely have enough employees, and they rather use them for other work than to be wwe figure babysitters, that's just the truth, I used to work at Kb toys years back so I know.

This is about the tenth time I've hit one of my local (or nearest) stores that carry WWE figures and found this. Its bad enough that he does this at all, but its never just one, oh no, its always 3-5 packs per return. Combined, this guy is looking at THOUSANDS of dollars worth of fraud. I made it my mission to have this guy caught and banned, so after a lengthy discussion will the managers of EVERY Walmart, Kmart, Target and Toys R Us within 50 miles, they've all agreed to monitor or outright ban returns on WWE toys. If caught, they've pledged to prosecute. Sorry bro bro, but you have to go! Mattels are already hard enough to find at retail with the scalping and distribution issues. Epic statement, my friend. This kind of crap happens quite a bit at some of my stores too (thankfully not to that extent). You're doing us all (and the stores) a great service! Keep us updated on what happens with this bastard.

Mattel MUST switch their packaging to the plastic clam shell packaging like McFarlane uses that you literally need a saw to open and can NOT be resealed......this is simply becoming too much of an issue.

That is pretty bad. I was once at Khol's, and saw a Jakks HHH in a basic Edge box, with packing tape wrapped all around it, and another Jakks HHH with paint all over it, in a basic HHH box, with rubber bands holding the bubble to the card.

Well done. The guy seriously needs to be caught. He clearly doesnt understand the concept that when you purchase the goods, you are meant to keep all of it. Nobody wins by doing this besides him. The retailer lose, it makes thing unsellable, parents can be fooled and collectors are deprived of a complete figure. Its just wrong. I hope you get him caught.

The fact of the matter is that the management at these stores aren't even aware that this is a problem. They can't tell that the figure being returned is not the one that belongs in the package, and even if you tell them, they won't care. WE know that it's wrong because we are familiar with the figures and know which is which, but the person working the customer service at Wal*Mart has no clue, they're only concern is that it's being returned in sellable condition.

Thats ridiculous...I went to a local Kmart last week and 3 Elite 14 figures were swapped out and the accesories were missing. There was even a ToysRus Exclusive Elite Bret Hart in a Ringside Exclusive Bret Hart box that was on the shelf and I went straight to the manager and asked wtf their problem is. He was like uhhh I dont know the details about figures and I was literally yelling at him. I mean internet exclusives swapped out and being returned to the stores!? How do the barcodes even scan in their system? I have seen a Ringside Exclusive Elite Kane swap as well at Kmart and I dont get how they can even return them as the barcode isnt even in their inventory...

Target keeps record of returns and there's even a yearly limit (dollar amount), so I would expect they could stop that easily from constantly occurring..the other places, hard to prove they're the ones switching and didn't get stuck with it on accident - a description of the person can change that though if they repeatedly do this the only limit target(and tru/wm) has in place is on returns WITHOUT a receipt. i think that limit is $75 and you need to present a photo id when you don't have a receipt.

I wish stores had a database of figures MOC so they could scan an item, see it on the screen and determine the fakes from the actual product. What an absurd suggestion. I can't stand the people who flip out over the store going along with this. You need to realize that most people you see in a day to day situation don't know who John Cena is. So they sure as hell won't know the difference between a Dolph Ziggler figure that's a basic and one that's elite. And they don't care. Nor should they. They're working a minimum wage job. Probably part time. There's something to be said for always taking pride in your work, but they also aren't getting paid enough to. Plus, it's not even that situation. It's as simple as people not knowing about the product you love and you taking too much offense to it. "what an idiot! They don't know the difference between elite 7 Ted Dibiase and basic 12 Chris Masters! They should be fired!" Seriously, go talk like that to a broad.

Seriously why is everyone a dick here? Let me clarify I didnt necessarily yell but I complained and I had a right to do so. I have checked that store for months and waste my time going there to find more and more stolens and swap outs and I was fed up. As for a pic I dont have a pick and the store security did pull the 4 figures i gave him from the shelves and said they will try to track it better. I had 3 people witness the Ringside Exclusives there on the shelf. Kane and Bret Hart I swear on my life I would have NO reason to make that up. I couldnt believe they did it. The Kane was better then what they swapped it for and the Bret was the Wrestlemania Bret in the Ringside Pink packaging. I even asked the manager how they could return something that isnt sold in stores and he had no idea how they got away with it....

i'm just curious, why are we concerned with these switches? If someone switched the figure, how does that affect you, all it means is that a person before you found the figure, its not taking an opportunity from you, because even if they don't switch it, they are more than likely gonna keep it anyway. i'm not saying its ok to do that, but it sounds like were concerned about the stores losses.

My concern isnt really with store losses, I see where your coming from but my problem is that Mattel figures are hard enough to find in the first place, I go to the store and see the package of a Booker T, Bossman, Yokozuna or anyone else thats near impossible to find all to find that someone bought it and swapped it out with junk and not only took the figure you would pay money for but they got it got their money back as well. That really sucks when you spend time and gas to come so close and get screwed by some idiot who works the system. Idk thats just my opinion...

She got it for my birthday but someone had switched it for a cheap keyring version and returned it. I was so upset and disappointed and so was my mother when she saw my crestfallen face of sadness. Sooner or later some kid's parents is going to buy a switch figure and the same thing that happened to me is going to happen to them and that isn't right.

If its not my dissapointment, there will be some little kid that gets that switch out and thats messed up. I would almost rather it be me report it to the store manager then to see some kid get screwed over like that. Parents wont know the difference and someone will buy those and have to go through the trouble of returning them which sucks.

Ok, i see the concept of kids possibly being affected by this, even though i don't know too many kids that know who yokozuna and kevin Nash are. But you also gotta think that being a parent, you should be aware of what your buying. i have kids and i always inspect the toy carefully before buying it.
