"Toy sales were down 8%, partially because the action figures are down 10% overall in sales."

If you cant find them, or they short pack the ones everybody wants and overpack the ones nobody wants, what do you expect.

Also because they cost $90 dollars at retail. I live in NY was at Target the other day... $26.99 for Elites.

The 2nd quarter did suck overall for most toys. It was filled with mostly junky movie figures.

I would have bought more, but I couldn't find anything. I spent more on gas driving around looking and coming up empty handed.

It seems to have escaped the marketing and accounting people at Mattel that poor distribution=poor sales!

They need to cut down on the Cenas, Reys, and Ortons. JoMo didn't help either, his figures are warming the shelfs at my Walmart and Kmart.

I buy most of my stuff from RSC. ..and buy doubles of a lot of stuff at retail. Here is the problem, I very rarely find anything at retail. I am not buying more red John Cena's.
Mattel basically screwed themselves buy overproducing Cena, Mysterio, and Orton. Targets in my area haven't restocked much of anything because of Elite Randy Orton. Same goes for KMarts.

What i get tired of is hearing them complain about us complaining about distribution. I mainly collect for my 7 year old. He plays with them of coarse so I don't want to pay more than retail unless I have to. I remember the days of walking in kaybee toys and the shelf was full of every figure. This weekend, me and my son went to 11 stores and only found 2 figures he didnt have. I have been calling kmart everyday for the stage. I just don't get it I want to spend my money but they don't want it. I have been just buying on ebay now all the week. You try explaining supply and demand to a 7 year old. Even he gets sick of going to 3 toys r us and seeing the shelves stocked with all John Cena. I still haven't seen the Mark Henry yet. I really feel like the never came to my area. I just got the Bret Hart last week. So it took me 4 months to build him. Again explain that to a 7 year old. Around Christmas I just rely on Ringside. Mattel you make nice figures but you make them very hard to buy

Where i live, the elites get a tiny amount of shelf space, and when they do go up they sell out within days. Needs to be way more elites on shelf's.

I found hitting stores restocks is the key.. when they restock that is. Ive found mostly all my stuff in retail, i think its area based.. now dont get me wrong , we are full of Rey and Cena and Orton thankfully kinda sells around here. But Elites sell somewhat good around here. Well with me buying them also only helps my stores restock value. We had E13 for months... skipped E14.....restocked E15 !! So its how fast stores order WWE figs. This has been covered already , its not so much Mattel distrubution , its STORE ordering Mattel. Its all computer based... its almost uncontrolable really !!
