as anyone with a 5 yr degree in watching WWE the two packs were bound to fail with the line-up they released. Just like the Classic deluxe being a TRU twice a year release so they could do this and sell a butt load.

Again it had nothing to do with the selection but the quantities produced. They grossly over-produced the first series. On their first two shipments my local TRU had 35 cases of the Legends 2-Packs. When Jakks releases a CSTT set this store never recieved more than 4 cases of any series. So my local store only ever had to move 24 sets of any Jakks series compared to 210 sets of Legends 2-Packs Series 1. And they did finally sell them all a few months ago. I'm sure my TRU wasn't the only store that had numbers like that. And to top it off they just started getting more. There was about 3 more cases 2 weeks ago.

I wouldn't mind Flashback Battle Pack sets. I'd love a Austin - Rock set from WM X-Seven with a dull but painted WWF Championship (Big Eagle of course)

I voted for Luger vs Perfect WM9. Although Id rather see a Made In The USA Lex instead of a Narrsissist Lex. On top of that they need to remake that Mr.Perfect fig, the last one they made is waaaaaay too in tall. EDIT: Ohand i wanna see a perfecto in an orange singlet with a black back.

The price point of two elite style figures just means they're doomed to fail regardless of the lineups. Nobody except us hardcore collectors is going to be planting that kind of money on a wrestling toy nowadays.
That said, my choices -- assuming that Mattel is only producing figures of guys they've already signed or that have a WWE contract -- for WrestleMania flashback two-packs would be:
Series 1 The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin: WrestleMania X-Seven... With vest and WWE title. Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho: WrestleMania XIX... Not sure which accessories (the entrance gear for both would be too costly I think). Undertaker vs Diesel: WrestleMania 12... with coat, hat and tie for Undertaker.
Series 2 Bret Hart vs Stone Cold: WrestleMania 13... With jacket and shades for Bret (and/or a ringside barrier). Triple H vs Chris Jericho: WrestleMania X8... With both titles. Legion of Doom: WrestleMania VII... With shoulder pads.
Series 3 Stone Cold vs Shawn Michaels: WrestleMania XIV... With vest and WWE Championship. Undertaker vs Jake Roberts: WrestleMania VII... With entrance gear for Taker or snake for Jake. Triple H vs Booker T: WrestleMania XIX... With World title and water bottle.

HBK vs Jericho WM 19 would be a definite yes for me... But as what was said above... I wouldn't know what accessories to put in besides their entrance gear.
