There is a new spray paint that adheres to plastic surfaces by AKRON FUSION, I think it is called. I taped off different sections of the bus with Frog Tape (which deters paint cracking) and painted the top and half the sides blue. The, I pinstripped out sections of the flagstripes white. Then switched the tap and sprayed it red.... The logos are custom decals I made.

It is slightly different than the original, but I think it looks like what a Lex Express would look like if a toy company would have made one. A few less stars and a little less writing.... Too many starts looked too busy and less merchandise-like. Also, it would have looked odd in places as the bus isn't 100% the same scale as the original.

as much as I hated this gimmick, I love this custom bus. What bus did you use as the base?

Wow that looks great, how long did it take you to make it exactly?

Looks awesome. I would also like to know please which vehicle did you use as a base?
I would guess it's from the Bratz doll line as the numberplate design looks the same as some Bratz cars I use in my wrestling figure collection

It literally took a few weeks, with a few days of 6 hours or so. (I'm not great at this stuff yet, so i would mess something up and have to figure out how to fix it more than once. The paint was trial and error, so I was back and fourth to the store before I found what worked best: Akron Fusion. That stuff is perfect, bonding to the plastic, almost like it was adding a new layer of plastic to the bus itself.)
It was all done and a bee landed in the blue paint job. I had to scrape down and start again. I really wanted to stomp it like the dudes in "Office Space" to their fax machine.

Bingo! It is a Bratz tour bus. They don't make 'em anymore so it will take a while to locate one, and particularly one without all the lame flower decals and junk all over it.

I'm super glad you guys like it. It took me forever to get it right. Eventually I got to a place where i realized that by trying to fix a small tiny paint imperfection somewhere, I was only going to make it worse, so i had to stop. Has anyone ever come to this realization? (the classic "should have left good enough alone" idea?)

The real lex express had one logo in the middle of the grill, but because of the way the bus is made, that wouldn't work, so I put a few wrapping around the cab; kind of like the old Primetime set.
