If he was dead for 20 minutes, wouldn't his brain be badly damaged? Genuinely asking because I don't know. I seriously hope not. I found this chart on a medical web site Let's hope the 20 minute rumor is not true....it would essentially be fatal. Isn't really all that true, Muamba a Bolton footballer in England collapsed on the pitch and was 'dead for 78 minutes.' He has made more or less a full recovery apart from not being able to play the sport again.

Being dead with CPR being active and being dead with no medical treatment is quite different and has a drastic effect on the persons condition, you can be brain dead after 5 mins with out it. - King might be fine and there is a good chance.

Under the age of 25, your chances increase to come out of it with no permanent damage. Lawler is 62. It could happen that he does pull through, but the odds get lower with age.

I've gotta admit, I'm a bit shaken up by all of this. I found out about Jerry collapsing before I even watched tonights show. We had been out for the night for my wife's birthday and had just gotten home and settled in when my sister texted me the news. I watched Raw while constantly checkin twitter on my ipod, hoping for some good updates.
My father suffered a heart attack earlier this year and it was the scariest time of my life. There were multiple times over the course of a couple of weeks that I thought I had lost him, as he was rushed back and forth to the cath lab 5 times. It seemed as if everytime we were givin good news, it was immediately followed by bad news. But thanks to the medical staff @ ST Thomas and most importantly thanks to God, he pulled through and is home and in much better shape than he was before everything happened.
Now this time is not about me, its not about my father....but hearing about Lawler's collapse and then later hearing of it being a heart attack reminded me of how things were for us earlier this year. As someone said earlier, you just don't realize how important these people are to you till something like this happens. But its someone that you make it a point to spend a couple of hours with each week, some of them you've spent hours every week for many many years...I've got family that I don't see or speak to every week.
It was a blessing that the unfortunate events tonight occurred at a place where medical personnel where already on hand and were able to immediately attend to The King.
I'm praying for Jerry Lawler

This is very accurate! I am CPR and AED certified. They changed the regulations on chest compression from 30 pumps to non-stop compressions with a secondary medical assistant giving air through the passage way via an air bag. Only breaks of CPR are when an AED is adminasterd! Odds are when his vitals regained to a some what normal level, thats when he was rushed to the hospital. Only time will tell on how his body will react to the loss of conciousness and air loss, plus his heart attack.

It's good that he's doing better, but I'm still worried. Michael Clark Duncan never fully recovered from his heart attack and passed away. I hope Jerry isn't the next to add to the wrestling deaths.

I'm really scared that there have been no concrete updates really since Raw left the air, other then it being a confirmed heart attack. It seems the longer we go without an update the worse the next update will be. If he was doing fine they would want to get the word out fast, if its not looking so good but they're not really sure whats going to happen they would probably give a vague update like they did. I'm really praying for him. I know that after an initial heart attack there is always risk for more to come. I really hope he pulls through.

I've been checking non stop for updates on King for hours now. I just wanna know that he's gonna be alright. I'm just shocked by this whole thing. I have no idea what even happened on Raw past mid way through that Tag match. I couldn't focus at all I found myself getting sick as they tried to continue to shove storylines in our face as a real life tragedy was unfolding before us. Its was so similiar to OTE99 that its scary. The awkward silence started to make me feel sick.

One of the first WWF PPV's i ordered was the one Owen died on. I was all WCW at the time. Watched WWF but never ordered PPV's.... Tonite was the first 3 hour episode i got to watch all the way through, and its like the curse hits again!!! I remeber Eddies passing, him and Hawk made me cry!!! Like legit tears. My girlfriend kept saying its wrong for them to fake a heart attack tonite, but when they showed Cole teary eyed, she realized it was real.

They won't provide an update until they have something solid to report. Anything else before that would just be speculation on their part. I'm not sure on how fast they can do the tests they need to run, but there likely won't be any more solid information on Jerry until the morning at the soonest.
