I felt sick when my brother told me what happened. I hope he's ok. I've been a huge fan of Lawler since I can remember.

Seems that he had/is in surgery to remove a blockage in his heart.

This always runs through my mind when I see Jerry Lawler in the ring. Just knowing his age (63 I think), and the era he came up in.. surrounded by drug abuse, steroids, cocaine, alcohol... pro-wrestlers were kinda outta control back then.
From his book:
"I have never in my life had an alcoholic drink, smoked a cigarette, or taken a recreational drug of any kind. I never wanted to, never had the urge to. God knows, it's not from any religious conviction or moral objection."

I always took him as a gimmick wrestler until I started hearing the names that he defeated in his career. I always took him as the Jack Swagger of AWA.

I DVR'ed the show & was planning to watch before I went to bed. My sister texted me, asking if I was watching. I told her not to spoil anything, then she told me if I don't watch tonight, I'll certainly be hearing about it tomorrow. I foolishly thought it might be a new storyline or return.
During the tag match I got a pit in my stomach. I didn't go online or FF through the show for about 30 minutes after. At that point I couldn't take it anymore & had to find out something.
I'm grateful to hear he is fighting through this & am hoping for the best.

I'll always remember him saying at the close of the Chris Benoit episode of Monday Night Raw to, "Make sure you hug your loved ones and tell them that you love them tonight before you go to bed." At that time, no one knew of the exact specifics of that whole situation at all and he was eluding to the fact that you just never truly know when the next time you will get that chance to say what you need to say to whomever you need to say it to. I've always kept that in mind and I try not to go to bed mad at anyone either. Praying for "The King" tonight as I go to lay myself down. We ALL love you Jerry! Hang in there man! Not ready to read of another legend in my sport passing on when I wake up. God bless you Jerry!

The above passage from his book instantly came to mind. I also remember how he said his one addiction was...eh...women, although he was just a tad more graphic. Kudos to everyone here showing support to Jerry with pics and words of encouragement.

I found out on Facebook and was really shocked.
I always say I want Jerry Lawler to go, but not like this at all, I really hope he pulls through.

Just figured I'd poke my head in and voice my support.
Like many of you, I definitely noticed something was wrong during the tag match. At first I thought it was just some idiot fan who did something since the announcers went silent and the crowd was looking over towards the commentary table. Then when Michael Cole came back on commentary (and I couldn't applaud his professionalism more after last night), and only Michael Cole came back on commentary my other suspicion started to seem more real.
My thoughts go out to Lawler and I hope for him nothing but the best. I honestly haven't been able to get it off my mind since last night. It's kind of crazy how when you see these guys out there every week, you don't really think much could happen to them in the position they're in as commentators (sure, Jerry was a wrestler and still does wrestle, but he's primarily been a commentator since I started watching as a child). I don't want to say you take them for granted (which you do--as it's human nature), but with them being the fixtures they are, they just always sort of seem... untouchable in a way. Needless to say, that illusion was easily shattered last night. I'm just extremely glad to hear he's doing okay and things are looking positive.

Well, this was not the news I was expecting today. Didn't watch Raw last night as I had work in the morning, so I recorded it to watch today. I decided to watch some before work then the rest later (I got to the Kofi/Truth vs Miz/Cesaro match). Anyway, before work, I go on my phone to check out Facebook and see the report about Lawler, then my work mate later confirmed it.
Will be watching the rest of Raw later, but its going to be hard too now knowing whats going to happen.

I was at wrestling practice the entire time this went down.
I checked facebook and saw two statuses about Lawler and one said "is this a work or is it real" so I exited to avoid potential spoilers.
I became uneasy when I came home and started watching because I started catching on so to what was happening during the Tag match.
I'm very dissapointed however, that: A.) The 'incredible' WWE app WWE pushes didn't cover this in their "Breaking News" section, B.) WWE didn't send out a Breaking News SMS. They can inform me what the stupid Raw Main Event will be, but they cant update me that there's a very serious story developing, and someones life was a risk?
