Absolutely crazy to watch the whole thing unfold. Total coincidence that the camera angle happened to show the announce table when he actually collapsed. I watched Raw late tonight because of the football, so I was vaguely aware of what had happened going in. Still, so eerie and surreal. The rest of the broadcast clearly suffered, and it was incredibly strange to hear everything without commentary. Almost felt like I was part of the live audience. Regardless, best wishes to Lawler. I know a lot of us here aren't exactly fans of his, but it's good to see that no one is childish enough to let that get in the way of hoping he pulls through and makes a full recovery. I dont think it actually shows him passing out. When you hear him breathing deep and snorting the camera is on Titus. By the time the camera swings over you can see Cole bent over looking down in the floor at Lawler. When looking that the desk straight a head, Lawler had recently been sitting on the left side but tonight after the match he was on the right side. Creepy thinking that he could have been on camera having a heart attack though. Perhaps I thought I saw something I didn't, I thought that when the camera swung over, King was still sitting in his chair, slouched over with his head down. The camera then cut back, and when it returned, he was on the ground. I could have been seeing the head of a crew member, but I swore it was King.

If he was dead for 20 minutes, wouldn't his brain be badly damaged? Genuinely asking because I don't know. I seriously hope not. Some people have been dead for over and hour with constant CPR - As long as there is constant intervention there can be a solid chance that there wouldn't be any brain damage. But of course every situation is different and every person is. - I just say try not to focus on the negative and hope Jerry pulls through a 100%

Now would they have continued anywhere near 20 minutes of him being dead, trying to bring him back? I would think that they would just declare him dead, long before 20 minutes.

No. As long as they feel the need to, they will administer CPR.

FYI, Bret Hart's brother Smith was the one who said he had a friend backstage at RAW who told him Jerry was dead for 20 minutes. Here's the full Tweet: “According to my friend Jeremy Prophet who was backstage at RAW, Jerry was clinically dead for 20 min before being brought back by defibrilator.” dude...

i wish him the best in his possible recovery i don't get why there's a camera-man aiming at the EMT's and the stretcher

A few reports on Twitter have stated that Memphis Action News 5 reported on their TV broadcast that Jerry was confirmed to be brain dead. I assume that's nothing more than a rumor stemming from the 20 minute rumor. The tweets have since been removed, and Memphis Action News' website only has the original report of his collapse. Don't know if there's anyone on the boards from that area that may have seen the broadcast in question, but i'd say obviously take it with a grain of salt.

The YT vid that I've watched it back on is about 12 mins long. At 7 mins you hear Lawler start wheezing and snoring. It slowly gets louder and then he let's out one final loud snore before you can hear him fall. Then the next shot at the commentary booth you see Cole slouched over attending to King as he lays on the floor. Very scary

I got so sick when I saw the photo of michael cole crying I legit started crying. Just enough to get my nose running. Which made me puke in the bathroom.

The WWE just posted this on Facebook:
Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during last night’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal. We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family.

I have a feeling though that even if Lawler is in worse condition right now, that the WWE won't mention it. If Lawler dies, or is brain dead, the WWE will get total backlash, and Linda McMahon can't have that!! So I guess time will tell now, the next few days we will see really how the King is gonna be.

I could see that, which would be downright disgusting, but wouldn't surprise me the least bit. The update they gave wasn't very detailed. They only said "we are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery," not that they expect him to.

Really hope King will be ok. I have been a huge fan of the King since 1993 when he started his feud with Bret, and all I can say is I really hope he makes a full recovery.

All it takes is one doctor to send a text to someone and that person tweet it and it will spread like wild fires. WWE knows, right or wrong, they have to report whats factually going on.

I hate to say it, but im more than positive there was a camera man on Jerry in the back as well. Just in case Jerry, or Family decide to get a lawsuit they have evidence on the rush they put on medical aid. I orled security in Malls and I worked the CcTV security cameras! #1 rule was always keep medical issues documented for liability! My thoughts and prayers are out for the King!!! Broadcast won't be the same! I have a very painful gut feeling that with this 20 minute rumor, of true, that Jerry will be in a bad place for the rest of his life.

If the rumors are true, I seriously hope the same can be said for Jerry.
