Okay, before I go any further. I'm making this very clear.
I know this will never see the lights of Wal-Mart shelves. This thread is idea suggestions under the ever relevant possibility of "WHAT IF..."
In 2006 Hasbro produced a battle figure game called "ATTACKTIX". I grew up playing it for it's entire existence from 2006 to 2008.
Here's a video explaining what it was & how you played, as well as a video explaining how the figures worked. To understand you'll need to watch both.
The characters were from Star Wars, Transformers, & Marvel Comics.
It's almost t he equivalent of a layman child's chess, but with it's own list of normal person confusing complexities that gave a very particular appeal.
To conclude, my idea would be if it were to come back thanks to The Avengers having such success, how would you incorporate WWE Superstars as figures for the game?
Now if you watched the video you'll notice the figures are meant to knock each other down by launching projectiles, prodding with projectiles that pop out to a certain distance, but are connected to the figure, & strikers that have both manual & wind up functions of swinging limbs & weapons.
Here's the first few figures I know would be chosen:
John Cena with a Clothsline strike action
Randy Orton with a chair swinging strike action
Kane or Big Show with a manual arm chokeslam strike style action
CM Punk with a prodding or swinging kick action
Do you see the pattern?
They only do striking or prodding which all require being with contact distance of your opponent.
75% of all the figures made were launchers who could attack if not end the game the first turn since they ultilized projectiles.
So I garnered the idea to create a catapult, spring cannon design to utilized the high flying moves of Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Tyson Kidd & so on.
The designs would shoot the figures as the ammunition. Picture it: The base has a Special spring system the shoots punk at a 45 degree angle in his signature elbow drop pose.
Imagine Rey Mysterio in a similar style, but this time he shoots from a ring ropes themed slingshot.
So my questions are as follows:
#1: If this came out along with a relaunch of the entire original line, would you play?
#2: What would some designs, attack functions or Speacial powers you'd like to see?
#3: How would you overcome the lack of launching options since wrestlers can't have guns/firearms?
